International Women’s Day 2020 πŸ’ͺβ™€οΈπŸ’œ

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

I always find it so important to talk about women’s rights especially today. Today it’s International Women’s Day πŸ’œβ™€οΈ. Every day is women’s day but I find today just an important day to talk about feminism and women’s rights. I love to write poetry about this topic. I love to read about it. I love to speak up about it because we have the right to speak up. I will also share at the end a poem, a picture and a cover 🎢 I made for this subject. I will not say happy International Women’s Day because how can we be happy when there are still so many women suffering in this world? How can we be happy when we are still afraid walking at night? How can we be happy when we are always afraid of something happening to us? There still needs a lot to be done to have equal rights between men and women.

There’s still no equality between men and women in this world. We have to raise our voice and talk about it. Men still earn in many places more than women. Men still consider women as objects. Men still keep catcalling women on the street. Rape, sexual abuse and violence against women exists. It still happens. It happens in The Netherlands, in Spain and anywhere else in the world. It has nothing to do with undeveloped or developed countries. This is an issue which effects the whole world 🌍. I wish we wouldn’t live in a patriarchal world. To be honest, I’m sick of it. Women can be bosses too. We don’t need men to feel satisfied or be happy in life.

I have always been a feminist and also will be a feminst forever πŸ’œβ™€οΈπŸ”₯. Women and men deserve the same human rights. It’s that simple. Some men always think that if you are a feminist, you hate men. That isn’t the case at all. Of course, men can be a feminst too because this isn’t just about women, it’s also about men. We don’t want to have the power over men. We just want GENDER EQUALITY.

Girl support girls always

I have to admit that I still have a wall around me because of my ex. It’s been 7 years since the break up πŸ’”. I dated some guys sometimes but just short and nothing serious. I’m afraid to get hurt again. I liked guys which just wanted me because they wanted sex from me and I don’t want that. They saw me as an object and even one time one said that they thought I was sexual attractive. I was like fuck off πŸ‘†. You see, I’m fed up with these kind of comments. I want to be seen as a women for my qualities which means being sensitive, romantic, creative, compassionate and for being intelligent and having a good heart. When I see a man or get to know one I think of these qualities of that person whereas men always focus on our physically.

To be honest, I don’t blame men for those behaviours because they can be changed. Those are not great comments of course. Those behaviours are thought from an early age. Boys and girls are grown up differently. Boys have to be strong and like men stuff like cars 🚘 and football and girls are grown up having to be like a princess πŸ‘Έ, being sweet and sensitive and loving all cute and pink stuff. It’s the wrong way to have grown up. The moment a child doesn’t feel like fitting in, he or she fall outside the box in our society. So, I definitely think these male-dominated behaviours of catcalling and seeing women as an object comes from an early age.

I really do think we have to raise boys and girls the same way. Tell them it’s okay to be and like who they want to like. Tell the boys it’s okay to cry. Tell the girls it’s okay to be a warrior. This will also cause less mental health problems in the future. There are more men who die by suicide then women because they feel they can’t express their emotions and don’t have the right to cry and talk about their feelings.

As you can see, there is still a lot to do with achieving real equality between men and women. I’m a feminist by heart and I find it important to raise awareness about equality always. Therefor I made a poem πŸ“ for this day and this poem relates to the picture where you can see me with tape on my mouth. I made this picture a few years ago for an assignment for school. It was for my minor of photography. We had to show a contrast with two pictures. I had chosen the topic of freedom. This picture is the opposite of how I’m able to live my life. This picture relates to my poem below.

Besides, I also made this cover of the song La puerta violeta πŸ’œπŸŽΆ from rozalen. It’s such a beautiful Spanish song. Rozalen is such an amazing Spanish artist! This song is about violence against women and about freedom. She sings about drawing a violet door on the wall, running in the forest and being free and safe. It’s a song dedicated for the violence against women around the world.

I shared the cover on my instagram which you can find below.

I hope you all liked the poem and the song. It’s just so important to speak up for the ones who can’t speak up. We have to do it all together πŸ’ͺπŸ’–. We are all making a change every day by changing our thoughts and behaviour. We are all equal. Nobody is better. We are all human and deserve to be treated that way.

Thank you all for reading this important blog post about international women’s day, equality, human rights and feminism. I hope you all liked it and that it inspired you. Are you also a feminist? What do you think of equality? What do you think needs to change to achieve gender equality in the world? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Just be yourself poem πŸŒΈ

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

I would like to share a poem I made a few days ago about being myself and I also shared it online. It’s been a long time since I shared a poem on here. I love to express myself with writing. I will show a picture of me with this poem I made. I had a nice photoshoot one day in Spain. This picture is already 6 years old haha but sssht 🀫 I still look the same πŸ˜‚πŸ€.

Picture of myself in Spain

I am sensitive.

I am caring.

I am beautiful.

I am creative.

I am inspiring.

I am strong.

I am lovable.

I am enough.

I am loved.

I am empathetic.

I am vulnerable.

I am honest.

I am open-minded.

I am intelligent.

I am sweet.

I am romantic.

I can be all of them.

I don’t have to choose between one of them.

Being human means being all of those things.

That’s the power of being human.

To be who you want to be without having to choose.

Being ourselves and loving ourselves unconditionally.

We are all human and matter.

Be yourself and love yourself.

Just be you.

Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope this poem inspired you to be just yourself with all your qualities and flaws. You are beautiful just the way you are πŸ’–. What do you think of my poem? What makes you you? Do you think it’s difficult to be yourself in our society? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love πŸ’•,

Poem: How would my life be without fear?

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

This will be just a short post about a poem I made a month ago. I still feel this way though. It’s good to put my thoughts and feelings in words. I hope you will understand what I feel with this poem I made. I often feel like I’m just surviving and existing in life than that I’m really living the life I want. I’m afraid of death and I shared those thoughts in this blog post a while ago. However, I’m also afraid of life because I’m not living a life that brings me happiness because of anxiety. I hope that that will change in the future πŸ™.

π‘―π’π’˜ π’˜π’π’–π’π’… π’Žπ’š π’π’Šπ’‡π’† 𝒃𝒆 π’˜π’Šπ’•π’‰π’π’–π’• 𝒇𝒆𝒂𝒓?

My life would be so different because I wouldn’t feel so extremely anxious for everyday life things such as going to the dentist or going to the doctors.

I would follow my dreams and know that I can reach them like getting a job in Spain and writing a poetry book.

I would join a choir again or do something with singing for sure because I love to sing 🎢 It makes me so happy πŸ’—. Music is life like I always say.

I wouldn’t be afraid of death because I know that my life is purposeful and fulfilling.

I would speak up in real life more instead of hiding myself and avoiding people and confrontation.

I wouldn’t think all the time that people are angry at me.

I would be more happy with myself and with my life.

I would go into the ocean and learn to actually surf waves πŸŒŠπŸ„β€β™€οΈ and maybe even big waves.

I would let go of the past and be less afraid of the future.

I would deal better with having changes in my life.

I would travel the world 🌍 and go to amazing places like Aruba πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ό, Costa Rica 🌞, Hawaii 🌴 and California 🌊. I would go to the @yoga_girl retreat in Aruba and have the time of my life.

I would live my life the way I want and be less afraid of what people think of me.

I would let go of others expectations.

I would know how to deal with anxiety better.

But most of all,
I would just be much more happier, be more at peace with myself and live the life I dream of.

Hopefully, one day I can say that I made it πŸ’ͺπŸ’— after all the hard times I have faced in my life.

That’s what I and we all deserve.

To live a life we are happy about, do the things we love to do with the people we love.

Thank you all so much for reading my poem. I hope you all liked it πŸ’—. Do you also feel that way in life? How do you deal with fear in life? Are you more of facing your fears or running away from them? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love πŸ’•,

Poem: Life is unfair

Hola lovelies πŸ’•,

I wrote this a few days ago because I was feeling emotional and had to cry. It’s about an illness you all know: cancer. I wrote a poem about it too.

Lately I can’t sleep well so last night was not an exception. What do I do when I can’t sleep? Writing, writing and writing. I love to write especially poems as well. When there’s so much in my mind I need to let it go. You know that feeling that even though when you are struggling yourself you want to help people who are struggling too? That feeling of impotence is what I feel right now. It makes me even feel guilty to have fun in life sometimes because I see so much pain in this world which breaks my whole heart πŸ’”πŸ˜’

I’m really feeling all the feels. I feel emotional and I also feel anger. Life is so unfair. I cried when I heard the awful news that Lisa from my choir died from cancer which I wrote in this post. I cried when I heard that my neighbour died last month because of cancer. I cried when I heard that someone I know very well has cancer now. Here I’m crying again because Lisanne has another form of cancer again 😒 It’s just so awful. She has neuroblastoma and now she has leucemia too. Lisanne is almost 6 years old. She is a child from a man which I know from my choir too. I’m thinking that this could happen to any child like my niece too.

I just had to write this poem in respect for everyone who has lost someone because of cancer or is going through this sickness. I also shared it on my poetry account seaofwordsx. I’m here for you all πŸ’—. In the past I donated money for a cancer organization and also for the organization for neuroblastoma. I will keep doing that in the future because I hope that that will cure more people of cancer πŸ™.

I’m always here for anyone who needs me. I love to help people and will keep doing that forever. We are always in this together πŸ’ͺ I’m sending you all my love and strength. I love you all so so so much πŸ’ž

Thank you all for reading this blog post and my poem. I hope you liked it and it inspired you ✨. Did you love my poem? Do you also know someone who suffers from cancer? Do you also sometimes feel impotence when you see so many people suffering in the world and you don’t know how to help them? I will speak you all in my next blog post.

Much love πŸ’•,

Speak up for the people who can’t πŸ’ͺ

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

Today I just wanted to talk about something important. I will talk about how important it is to speak up for the people who can’t. Many people in our world can’t speak up for their human rights because they may live in countries where there’s a war and are afraid of speaking up. There can be consequences of speaking up. I will talk about many subjects related to this. I hope it will inspire people and make this world a better place to live in πŸŒβœ¨πŸ™

I was thinking about this topic when I was listening a few days ago to a postcast from Yoga Girl. It was about the abortion ban in some states in America. This is going on right now and it’s really scary. It felt good to hear this important topic which I also agreed on. I believe that every woman has the right to choose to do what they want with their body and whether they want to have children or not. I don’t want that we are going backwards in history.

It’s really terrifying what’s happening in America. This abortion ban will be bad for all women. Even women who are raped will not have the choice to do an abortion. It’s just a horrible thought for women to have a baby from being raped. You can choose to not do abortion for yourself but to ban it is just not aceptable. It’s a human right. It feels like they are now making a political issue of it. That’s why it’s so important to speak about this. We can’t just accept this. I was happy to go to the first feminist strike in Spain last year and speak up about all the injustice we women have to suffer. We live in a patriarchal world and this just has to change.

This subject isn’t only about women. Speaking up implies in many subjects. Racism still exists and people who say it doesn’t are just afraid to speak about it. They ignore it when it is there. I loved the postcast of Yoga Girl where she talked about white supremacy as I agree so much with it. It feels like an uncomfortable conversation but we have to talk about it and discuss it.

I don’t want the benefits of being a white person. I just want everyone in the world to be equal. I want them to have the same human rights. I want everyone have the same school and job opportunities. I don’t accept people of colour being rejected for a job. I have a good friend of Irak and I hear her stories. She had to leave her country because of war just like many people from Syria and other people from other countries are doing right now. I believe there has to be a good migration plan in every country. Some countries almost don’t accept immagration whereas other countries have an overflow. There has to be a better system for all where everyone feels comfortable, happy and equal.

Also I made this poem below for this blog post and also shared it on my Instagram Sea of words. I hope you will all like this poem. Being bullied made me scared and anxious to speak up. It made me be silenced. I still have a hard time to speak up but I’m learning it because it’s so important to do.

We have to speak up for the people who can’t speak up. I always love to see people speaking up about important topics such as mental health because it makes me feel less alone while struggling from anxiety. If we speak up about an important topic or issue it will make other people feel less alone. It also inspires other people to speak up and to make this world a better world to live in 🌍✨. Even if it makes us scared we have to speak up. Let’s do it all together! Yeahhh, we can do it! πŸ’ͺ

Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope it all inspired you and you loved it. What do you think of speaking up about important topics? Do you also speak up in life? Are you afraid of speaking up and how do you deal with it? Let me know lovelies 😘 I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Poem for International Women’s Day β™€οΈπŸ’ͺπŸ’œπŸ‘

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

I always need to share something on this important day: 8 March. Today it’s International Women’s Day. I find it important that we all think of how women are treated in the world. Even if you live in a developed country like I do, women are still being raped, discriminated or sexual harrast. It can happen in any country on this world. There’s still not 100% equality between women and men even though it’s better than in the past. It also depends on where you are in the world. In some countries women still aren’t able to go to school or travel alone. I see women getting murdered or raped in Spanish news often. There’s still so much to do so that we can feel save on the streets.

Last year, I was in Spain with my mother and went to the first feminist strike in Spain. It was one of the best experiences in my life. That march completely made me change the way I thought of sisterhood. I saw women being united, felt loved and soooo strong. I even made a friend which was amazing. It always feel like we have to compare with other women when it’s just so important to all support each other so that we can have equal rights. This year there’s again a feminist strike in Spain and I’m so sad I can’t be there. If you want to check that post and have an impression of that day you can go to this post.Β

In this post I want to share a poem I made and recorded via video. I find it important to write about it. I’m a proud feminist! πŸ’ͺβ™€οΈπŸ’œπŸ‘ I will forever support human rights and equality of women and men.

This is the spoken poetry video:

This is the same poem but then written:

International Women’s Day πŸ’œ

Today it’s International Women’s Day

This date is important every day not only just today

I’m a feminist by heart

Being a feminist means equal rights for women and men

It doesn’t mean that one gender has the power over one

It just means that there’s equality and freedom to be ourselves

It means to have the same human rights

Women are still discriminated, being raped and have a high rate of being murdered

What do we want?

We want to feel safe when we walk down the streets

We don’t want men catcalling us and making us feel uncomfortable

We don’t want that society always blames us for being raped because of what we were wearing or what we were doing

We want to love ourselves and feel free in our bodies

We want to be less afraid of something happening to us

We want to feel protected by the law

All we want is that society treats us with respect, understanding and love

Is that too much to ask for?

I’m sure we can all change the world, the moment we speak up about it

We’ll not be silenced anymore

Our time has come

We are not alone

We are all in this together! πŸ’ͺ

Together we will create a world were women and men can live in harmony, peace and love for the rest of their lives

Yes we can! ❀️πŸ’ͺ

Thank you all for reading this blog post and for watching my video. Did you like my poem? Are you also a proud feminist? Did you ever go to a demonstration or march on International Women’s Day? Let me know in the comments. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love πŸ’•,

Spanish spoken poetry: Venezuela will be free πŸ’—πŸ™

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

I just had to write this poem about what’s happening in Venezuela right now. I made a spoken poetry video of it. It breaks my heart and I cry about it πŸ’”πŸ˜ I always feel inspired to write when something touches my heart. I’m not from Venezuela and never been there but I can feel their pain. I’m a sensitive person.

I find it so hard to understand why someone would not want to help their citizens. It’s just so inhumane. The citizens need help, food and medications. There are so many people dying in Venezuela. I really hope a solution will come soon πŸ‡»πŸ‡ͺπŸ™ You are not alone. The video is in Spanish because that’s the main language there. I also wrote an English translation.

This is the video of my poem:

Here’s the Spanish written version:

Venezuela serΓ‘ libre πŸ’ͺπŸ’—

Voy andando por las calles

Me pregunto quΓ© occure?

Veo los Venezolanos asustados

Les veo llorando y gritando

Me pregunto quΓ© estΓ‘ pasando?

Here’s the English translation:

Venezuela will be free πŸ‡»πŸ‡ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’—

I’m walking down the streets

I ask myself what’s happening?

I see the Venezuelans being scared

I see them crying and shouting

I ask myself what’s going on?

In a few minutes I know what’s happening

The dictator Maduro is preventing the humanitarian aid and the trucks with food and medication at the border of Venezuela

Meanwhile people are dying in Venezuela

My heart falls into pieces

I ask myself how did it come so far

Violence only kills people and it doesn’t solve anything

Love always win

There will be a solution soon

Juan GuaidΓ³ and the whole world is there for you all

Venezuela will be free

The day will come that the Venezuelans can live in peace

If they fight today

Tomorrow they will have FREEDOM! πŸ‡»πŸ‡ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’—

Thank you all for reading and watching my poem about what’s happening in Venezuela. Do you have heard or read about what’s happening? Did you like my poem? Let me know your opinion. I’m here for you all. We are all in this together always! πŸ’ͺπŸ’— You are never alone.

Much love πŸ’•,

Poem: That’s what real love is πŸ’•

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

I was just in the mood of writing poetry. I would love to share my last written poem with you all. It’s about loving a person for who they are. I wrote it for myself and for every woman out there who may feel this way. We all want to be loved for being ourselves. I hope you will like this poem.

That’s what real love is πŸ’•

She is vulnerable and sensitive

She is funny but oh so fragile

She is wild and crazy

She is beautiful and smart

She is romantic and creative

She is all you ever wanted

But

She is also the girl who cries herself to sleep

She can feel sad for no reason

She get anxious very fast

She has mood swings

She is sometimes hard to deal with

If you really want to love her you will have to love every part of her because that’s what love is about

Accepting the person for who they are and loving them unconditionally

Then you know it’s real love πŸ’•

Thank you all for reading this poem. I loved writing it. I always get inspired at night. Can you relate to it? Did you like this poem? Would you love to see more poetry that I wrote on my blog? ✨ I would love to know your thoughts. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love πŸ’•,

xoxo Christina

Poem: This is what anxiety looks like

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

This blog post will be about a picture and a poem written by myself. So I never shared such an emotional picture of me crying but I just felt the need to do it. I have never been this vulnerable. The picture where I’m smiling on the left was taken yesterday afternoon. The other picture on the right where I was crying was taken last night. I was crying last night and feeling like I couldn’t cope with life. I keep being so anxious about getting one of my wisdom teeth pulled out. I really have to face this fear. I’m also on my period and not feeling that well. I’m also keep thinking about that I don’t have a job because of feeing anxious. These two pictures are just taken within a few hours of difference. I will now write a little poem about these pictures.

This is what anxiety looks like

Suffering from anxiety is being anxious but still smiling.

Suffering from anxiety means crying.

Suffering from anxiety is feeling nauseous.

Suffering from anxiety is having constant worries.

Suffering from anxiety is overthinking all the time.

Suffering from anxiety is feeling dizzy.

Suffering from anxiety is being afraid to die during a panic attack.

Suffering from anxiety is being afraid to leave your home.

Suffering from anxiety is cancelling plans with your friends.

Suffering from anxiety is not knowing what is wrong.

Suffering from anxiety is constant living between escaping your fears or facing them and feeling anxious.

Suffering from anxiety is being tired of feeling anxious all the time.

Suffering from anxiety is a hell.

Suffering from anxiety is being afraid of searching for a job or going to school.

Suffering from anxiety is being afraid of doing daily things.

Suffering from anxiety means feeling your heart beating fast.

Suffering from anxiety is hard because it’s an invisible mental illness.

Suffering from anxiety is not something choose.

Suffering from anxiety is an illness which you have to fight every day with.

I just wanted to write this poem because it’s related to these pictures. Having anxiety or any other mental illness or invisible illness is hard because you don’t see the illness. Just because someone is smiling doesn’t mean they are happy. They can feel anxious or be depressed. You don’t know what someone is going through. I also hide my anxiety behind my smile. People always assume I’m happy and that’s draining me. I just smile and laugh a lot because it’s part of my personality.

Of course, I’m also happy at times but there are also times I’m not and I still smile because that’s part of who I’m. I just want to let you all know that it’s important to not judge someone by their looks. Ask them how they are really feeling and be there for that person. They need your support. We are all in this together πŸ’ͺπŸ’•

Thank you all for reading this blog post and poem. Could you relate to it? Do you also smile because it’s part of your personality? Did you like my poem? I would love to know your thoughts. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love πŸ’•,

xoxo Christina

Spanish spoken poetry video: We are all Laura πŸ’œ (Violence against women)

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

Before I begin with this short blog post I would like to say that I have a giveway going on my Instagram. You just have to follow me there, like my picture and comment why you want to win. You also need to be Europe based. I just wanted to give something back. I’m so thankful for all your support and love I have on my blog and on that Instagram account. I love you all so much 😍😍😍.

Before I post some Christmas blog posts I wanted to post this blog post. I just needed to share this here. I also shared it on my Instagram: Poetry video. This is my Youtube account which I never use but I just felt the urge to share it there too. My video on my main account of Instagram already had more than 1500 views and more than 100 likes which is just so much wow. I have never made a video reading one of my poems before but tonight is the night that I’m going to do it. I wrote it in Spanish because it’s about a Spanish girl but I will also translate it in English down below. I just had to write about what happened. This poem is for all women who are suffering from violence against women in every form possible. You are not alone. Together we are stronger πŸ’ͺ. They will not silence us.

Laura is a Spanish girl who was only 26 years old when she got missed a few days ago in Huelva in Andalucia. That’s in the south of Spain. She was a teacher in that village. She was missing and never came back alive πŸ’”πŸ˜’. They found her body on Monday half naked. I have to say that there’s one mistake in my poem which is that she was running. Right now they are investigating how she died. I saw the Spanish news and they said one man which was a neighbor from her killed her. He already killed a woman a few years ago and was in prison. I really don’t know why they let this crazy man free.

He locked her into his car and wanted to rape her but she resisted. Then he hit her with something on her head. She died a few days later. We still don’t know where the body was the days she was missing. It’s just a horrible story 😒. Again, another victim of violence against women. With all my frustration and pain I’m feeling right now I just needed to express my emotions in this poem. You can read my English translation of this poem down below:

We all are Laura

She was called Laura

She only had 26 years

A year less than I’m

She was a teacher

She went running and never came back

She got murdered

We all are Laura

We don’t want to be afraid when we are walking alone at night

We don’t want to be afraid because we are a woman

We don’t want to have our keys in our hands to enter fast our home

We don’t that men see us as an object

We don’t want to live in a patriarchal world

We don’t want that the world judge women when they are getting raped

We want to be free, protected by society and treated with respect

Free, healthy and safe is what we want to be

It’s enough!

Not one more!

We are all Laura ❀

Spanish version:

Laura somos todas

Se llamaba Laura

TenΓa tan sΓ³lo 26 aΓ±os

Un aΓ±o menos que yo

Fue profesora

SaliΓ³ a correr y no volviΓ³ nunca mΓ‘s

Fue asesinada

Laura somos todas

I know almost none of my followers can speak Spanish but the words sounded better in Spanish. I wanted to share both the original Spanish version and also the English translation. Maybe, in the future I will also make a video of the English version.

Thank you all for watching my video and for reading this poem. Did you like this poem? What are you thoughts of the topic of violence against women? Are you also a feminist? I’m a feminist by heart and will forever continue to spread awareness about this topic. Together we can make a change. They will not silence us πŸ’ͺπŸ’œ.

Much love πŸ’•,

xoxo Christina
