Concerts, a funny moment meeting your favourite artist and bonfires of Saint John 🎶🔥

Hey lovely bloggers 💕,

I already wanted to make a blog post about two amazing concerts I went to last month. This blog post is going to be about those two amazing concerts I went to. I don’t think anyone will relate to these two artists: Pablo Alboran and Sofia Ellar because they are Spanish. However, I love to share my music taste and soon I will also post a beach/Summer play list. I also am going to talk about the night of Saint John which is a typical feast in Spain. I hope you are going to enjoy this blog post.

I already bought the concert tickets of Pablo Alboran in Febraury because he’s a popular singer in Spain. I went to his concert on the second of June, just one day after my birthday. It was the best birthday present from myself haha and for my mother. I wanted to go with a friend but she couldn’t go so I went with my mother. Pablo Alboran is on a tour to promote his new album “Prometo” My mother is now in love with him too haha. Damn, I felt I was walking on the moon or Saturn as one of his songs says during his concert. This concert is going to be in my list of best concerts I’ve ever went to like omg asdghjkl I love you so much Pablo 😍 I wanna marry you. He’s 29 years old and comes from Malaga. He’s very handsome, cute and his voice is just so beautiful that it makes me feel in love. I’m a fan for so many years and I love all his songs so much. I bought the concerts tickets in February just when they began to sell them. Finally, I saw him live which is just a dream that came true. This was my best birthday present.

I will show you some of his songs from Youtube. I hope you like his voice as much as I do. Music doesn’t have any barriers. Even if you don’t know the language, the sound and the voice can make you feel something. I love going to concerts in Valladolid, my home city. This place was just 15 minutes away from my house. I could walk to it. There were thousands of people but I had enough space to dance and sing. I really like that. The concert was also outside which I enjoy more than inside concerts. It wasn’t even cold at all. It was around 20 degrees yeahhh. I get that festival vibe ✌

Pablo Alboran – Saturno (From his new album Prometo, I love this song so much)

Pablo Alboran – Te he echado de menos (From older albums and one of my favourite songs ❤)

His songs are so beautiful and really thouch my heart and soul. They are about life and love. The lyrics is just so beautiful which I can’t even describe with words. He’s honest, sensitive, caring and I appreciate him so much. Hopefully, one day I can get a picture with him and talk to him. That would be a dream. Thank you for an unforgettable night. I also bought a sticker and bracelet to have a memory of the concert. I danced, I sang and I felt so alive. I live for concerts because music makes me feel so alive which is the best feeling ever. I can’t wait to see you again!! I love you so SO much 💕💕💕

I also went to the concert of Sofia Ellar on the 22th of June with my lovely friend Maria. She was born in London and has the Spanish nationality. She launched her music career in Spain. She’s almost my age. She’s just 24 years and launched her career a few years ago just on her own. She became famous through Instagram and Youtube. It was such an amazing concert omgggg asdfghjkl. You know that moment in a concert where you are just so happy living in the moment and forget the whole world?! I had that all the time. She sang songs from her new album named Nota en do such as Nota en do, Mundos…? and Ana and older songs such as Verano con lima, Amor de anticuario and Rock’n’roll de chiquillos. I will you share some of my favourite songs below.

Sofia Ellar – Amor de anticuario (My favourite song ever 💕🎶)

Sofia Ellar – Mundos…? (From her new album Nota en do, I love this song so much)

Sofia Ellar – A Spanish little place (From her new album Nota en Do, she sings English this time which I also love)

First Rosco, a singer who also was playing in her band was playing a song from his album and then he sang the song La Llamada from that awesome movie which I still have to watch. I loved his voice. Then the concert of Sofia began. I love her and her band. She’s just so amazing. I love her voice, her songs and her music is just so beautiful. She write beautiful songs and can play so good guitar. She creates such a good ambiance. An artist have to make me feel something and she definitely does that. I loved the stories she told. She’s just so real, authentic, honest and a hippie girl like me 💕✌ She had two big dreamcatchers on stage. One moment she even came to dance and sing with all of us downstairs.

This was the moment she came downstairs and danced and sang with us:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BkaN_6dA5fb/?taken-by=christinax1993

This was the best moment of the concert. I never been to a concert where the artist just come downstairs and dance and sing with us. It was so beautiful and omggg I get emotional every time I see this video and remember this moment. This song is called Amor de anticuario and I love this song so much. It’s one of my favourites. She sings I’m that girl who is tired of offices and who lives her life singing this song. It just reminds me that Sofia Ellar is so real, beautiful and so sweet. She always says we are her family and yesss we are! It’s so important when an artist is on the same line as us. She also took her shoes off one moment and sang barefoot. I find that so awesome! I love you so much xoxo ❤️❤️❤

I was also so happy to meet her afterwards with my friend and I got a picture with her. She also liked my posts on Instagram or send hearts and she said I love you too through a private message on Instagram. Meeting and getting a picture with your favourite artist is awesome. It always happens when I’m going to concerts which take place in little places. I’m going to tell you now a funny story that happened that night. It was so great to meet Sofia. We had to wait for like a half hour after the concert ended. The security man said in an angry tone that we could enter the room of her but only two at a time. So, me and my friend entered and I said Sofiaaaa and we gave her a hug. She was so sweet. I had a black bag and when I wanted to get in the position to make this picture, my bag was in the way and let all the beer bottles and alcohol falling down on the ground and in Sofia’s bag. I hoped nothing was wet. I said that I’m so sorry and she said that it didn’t matter and she smiled.

Hahah, this only happens when I’m in the room lol 😂. The man who was taking a picture said look what the one in the green did. We took a picture and Sofia said that they had to go soon so that’s why we had to do it quick. I would have loved to talk longer. It felt like we were her friends. I love that she’s so close to her fans. I can’t wait to go again to a concert of her. I will never ever forget this amazing concert. Thank you for everything 😄 You are da best! I wish her good luck with the rest of the concerts.

I shared this story on Instagram and then she liked my post and wrote: 😂😂😂😂you two were so sweet !! Nothing went wrong. Just smile!! I felt so happy when she wrote that and I wrote her back and said: Aaaah thank you so much Sofia 😍😘It was funny hahah. I love you ❤ You can see it here below:

During the concert I also bought some beautiful earrings of feather which I already wanted to buy since a long time. I love them so much. They were a bit expensive €8 but so worth it. She always wear these earrings of feather in her hair.️ I loved the merchandising and wanted to buy everything hahah. I’m a hippie girl forevah. Hippie vibes always ✌

So these were my stories about the two concerts I went to in June. Now, I’m going to tell you shortly about the night of San Juan which took place on the 23th of June. That night we celebrated San Juan also called the bonfires of Saint John. Spain is celebrating this night in all cities and especially on the beaches. Here in Valladolid we celebrated it by the river Pisuerga where there’s like a beach with sand. It’s not a real beach hahah a fake one but it’s great. It’s really a magical night & it’s also the shortest night. It’s typical to have bonfires. There were bonfires and a big one, and you could throw some wishes that you want to come true. You could also write a note with all negative things which you want to burn. I did this and it felt so goooood. I also enjoyed the music. It was a great night with my friend. I went with Maria Martin, and other people which I didn’t know.

I hope you all enjoyed this blog post. Do you also love to go to concerts as much as I do? Did you like these songs which I posted? Did you also had a funny moment like me when you met your favourite artist? Have you heard of Saint John before and do you celebrate it? I would love to know.

Much love 💕,

Summer OOTD & roses 🌹💐

Hey lovely bloggers 💕,

Today I would like to share my first OOTD. I never did this before so I want to begin with it and share an OOTD. I thought it would be fun to introduce a new topic on my blog. I’m going to share a Summer OOTD. I’m also going to share some pictures with roses which I took with my mother today. I hope you are all going to like it.

Here’s my Summer OOTD:

2018-07-09 12-417202569..jpg

Dress: Easy Wear (El Corte Inglés)

I bought this dress just a week ago in the shop El Corte Inglés. This is a famous shop in Spain which have everything. This dress looks like another green dress I have. I really love these kind of dresses. I also love the colour red. It was only €10 because it was in sales. Otherwise, it would have been €6 more.

Necklace: Hand of Fatima

I bought this necklace once in a traditional market here in Valladolid. It’s handmade. It was around €8. I love this necklace so much. The Hand of Fatima is also called the Hamsa. It’s an amulet that helps banish evil or any negative energy. It brings happiness, luck and good fortune to its owners. I hope I will get lucky.

Mascara/red lipstick: Kiko

I love make up from Kiko. It’s my favourite brand for make up. It’s cheap and has great quality. I got this mascara and red lipstick from it. I don’t know the exact prices anymore. The mascara was around €5 and the lipstick €4.

Today I went to a park near to my house in Valladolid which is called Las Moreras.  I really enjoyed walking with my mother and enjoy nature so much in Summer. Summer is a bit strange this year. In The Netherlands, I heard it’s really dry and doesn’t rain. This is strange because it rains a lot there hahaha. In Spain, we have 30 degrees but normally it’s already 35 in my home city Valladolid. When we did the walk today I felt a bit of a cold wind. A few days ago it even rained and there was a storm. So, it’s a strange Summer but I hope I can go to the swimming pool this week and travel to the beach soon.

Thank you all for reading this post. I hope you all enjoyed this post. What do you think about my OOTD? How’s Summer time in your country? Did you like my pictures? Do also like roses as much as I do? I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

10 things you need to bring to the beach 🌞🌊🏄🌴👙

Hey lovelies 💕,

I want to thank you all for your lovely comments on my last blog post and on my Instagram @seaofwordsblog. I’m so happy to have this blogging and mental health community on Instagram that’s always there for me when I feel great and when I feel bad. It means the world to me. I will also always be there for you all. Friends forever ❤ I wish to meet you all one day. Today I want to talk about 10 things you need to bring to the beach. Happy Summer time to you all! 🌞 I can’t wait to go to the beach. I’m longing for that so much. I’m a mermaid and the ocean is my home.

textgram_1530817418727981756.png

1. Sunscreen lotion

This is just the most important thing to bring to the beach. Nowadays, there’s are many people which have skin cancer. It’s so important to use sunscreen lotion and also a high factor. This is especially important for people who burn easily. I can get a tan but not so easily. I almost never get burned easily. Sometimes it happens and it hurt a lot. I use factor 30 or even factor 50 from Nivea. It’s important to use suncreen a lot during the day at the beach. After swimming in the ocean you have to use suncreen again. And after a day at the beach I always use aftersun with Aloe Vera. This is just so refreshing and good for your skin.

2. Bikini/swimsuit

I always love to use a bikini during a day at the beach. I don’t have swimsuits. I had one when I was doing swimming competitions when I was younger. Now, swimsuits are in again and I really would like to buy one too. I have a nice bikini from the surfbrand Roxy which I bought on sale, it was like €25. My favourite bikini is from the surfbrand O’Neill and it’s also a special material. It’s the material of surfing wetsuits. I love this bikni so much. The combination of the colour pink/orange is so beautiful. I got it for my birthday a few years ago and it was about €80. It wasn’t on sale. I never buy such expensive bikinis but it’s great to get it as a present hahah 😂 Do you prefer a bikini or a swimsuit? 👙

35799345_10209685614256878_2796003016543567872_o

3. Hat

To protect yourself from the sunshine a hat is important to use. I love to use mine which I bought in Mallorca, in Spain. When I feel that my head is going to be too hot I can feel dizzy and bad because of the sunshine. A hat is the best thing to wear. I took these pictures below a few years ago in Mallorca during Summer with my friends. It’s my favourite island ever yeahhh good vibes! 🌊✌

4. Sunglasses

Fortunately, I never needed glasses but I use sunglasses. Those are without prescription but for the ones who use glasses I think you can have sunglasses with prescription. Using sunglasses is just so important to protect your eyes from the sunshine. It also looks great and fashionable. I use one which I got from a friend with aztec print

31287220_10209365220287229_8332330571074109440_o

5. Beach towel

Of course, bringing a beach towel is really important to lay down on it on the sand. My favourite towels are one which is just like a normal towel with a Summer theme. My other favourite beach towel is a round one which you often don’t see on the beach. I bought this one from Etsy from the brand Beach Lulu and it was like €50 euros in total. It came all the way from America and I had to pay the shipping which was expensive. It was so worth it because I love it so much. It has beautiful colours and a drawing of a sun, yeahhh hippie vibes ❤ Do you also have a round beach towel? Do you like mine?

6. Flipflops

I love wearing flipflops at the beach. I have one pair of Roxy and another pair of O’Neill. These two are getting a bit old and you can’t even see all the print anymore. That was the reason that I bought a new one in the shop Carrefour. I bought such an amazing pair of flipflops. I loved the Summer theme. I definitely need vitamin sea 😍 There were just €3 so cheap!!! If I’m not wearing flipflops, I’m walking barefoot at the beach 😄 That’s just the best.

2018-07-04 05200943330..jpg

7. Books/magazines

If you like to read it’s really great to bring a book or a magazine to the beach. I love to read at the beach whether it’s a novel or a magazine. One of my favourite magazine is the dutch magazine about psychology. It definitely helps me a lot with dealing with my anxiety. You can read amazing tips on how to care about yourself and your mental health. Reading at the beach and hearing the waves is just so relaxing 👌

2018-07-04 05-634690243..jpg

8. Ipod/mobile phone to listen to music

I don’t like to use so much my mobile phone on the beach because I want to be happy and enjoy the moment. I like to use my old iPod Touch or Spotify on my mobile phone to listen to music. I love to listen to music because it’s so relaxing and always make me happy. I will soon share a beach play list for this Summer 🎶

2018-07-04 05-1156083005..jpg

9. Camera/Polaroid

I love to take great pictures at the beach. Sometimes I use my mobile phone to take pictures but I prefer to take pictures with my digital camera or polaroid instax mini camera 📷 It’s great to have some memories of that day at the beach.

2018-07-04 051334017136..jpg

10. Hair brush

I love beach hair so much. I love to bring a hair brush at the beach and brush my hair a few times at the beach. If I don’t do it I have tangles in my hair which hurts. It’s really great to brush your hair a few times at the beach and especially when you went swimming or surfing. I bought a great hair brush in the shop Carrefour for €2.

2018-07-04 0539778320..jpg

Thank you all for reading. I hope you all liked this list of 10 things that you need to bring at the beach. Of course, this list is personal and can be different for any of you. Could you relate to this list? Would you add something to my list to bring to the beach? Do you love the beach as much as I do? 🌊😍❤ I would love to know your opinion.

Much love ❤,

xoxo Christina

10 reasons why I love Spring so much 🌞🌸🌷🌻

Hey lovelies 💕,

It was finally feeling like Spring in Spain two weeks ago. Now, it’s again cold….. like 14 maxium and 3 degrees as minium. In a few days, Spring time will come again yeahhh with 25 degrees every damn day. This blog post will be about the 10 reasons why I love spring so much together with some beautiful pictures I made two weeks ago in Valladolid. I enjoy Spring so much. I love Spring because of so many different reasons. You can hear the birds whispering. Life is getting warmer and I just love nature in Spring so much. We let the cold of the winter go and embrace the warm days. How is Spring in your country? What’s your favourite thing of Spring? I would love to know all about it 😄

5857aaeb83ec56b1030c4e4d27d5312d

These are the reasons why I love Spring so much:

Beautiful flowers

I love that in Spring all the flowers are going to grow and blossom. The dark winter is over. Life is beginning again. The earth feels so fresh. Everywhere you go you can see beautiful flowers. I love flowers and I’m a hippie girl haha. I always love to wear clothes with flowers and a flower headband in my hair. My favourite flowers are sun flowers, daisies, cherry blossoms, tulips, roses and violets. I love all flowers so much haha but those are my favourites. In The Netherlands you can also see this beautiful flowers blossom especially the famous Dutch tulips. There’s a park in The Netherlands which is called Keukenhof where you can see all these beautiful flowers especially the tulips. It’s one of the world’s largest flower gardens. It’s really touristic and so amazing to see! The best time to go is in May.

Keukenhof in The Netherlands where I went a few years ago

Some weeks ago I went to take a walk and I saw this beautiful daisies in Valladolid

Cute clothes

I love that I don’t have to wear so many clothes such as in Winter. I find it really irritating to wear so much clothes. Life is so much easier when it’s getting warmer. I love that I can wear again cute shirts, dresses and skirts in Spring. It takes me less time to dress up. I love to wear also hippie clothes which fits perfectly for this weather. You can see my lovely flowers shirt from Bershka on the pictures below.

Ice creams

I love Spring because I enjoy eating delicious ice creams. My favourite ice creams are italian ice cream. I just love all the flavours so much. I can eat an ice cream every day and then I’m the happiest girl in the world ❤👏 Last week I ate one with chocolate. Chocolate ice cream is one of my favourite flavours. Which one is your favourite?

30707222_10209334418717209_5343620266108911616_o

Milkshakes & Smoothies

I love milkshakes and smoothies so much. I love to make my own smoothies at home with fruits, ice cream and cream. I love to eat milkshakes too. I ate two last week. One with my friends and another one with my mother. I love the strawberry flavour but my favourite flavour is definitely chocolate!

Days are longer

I love that days are longer in Spring. I don’t like that in Winter it’s already dark at 5 p.m. I like that there’s much more day light than in Winter. Sunshine makes me so happy. It’s really important for our health. It has definitely a great effect on our mood. Besides, the Vitamin D from the sun is really important for us. Of course, we have to take care of our body skin when we are tanning. In The Netherlands there is way less sunshine than in Spain. Mainy days it’s rainy and grew and I dislike this weather so much.

Warm weather

I like the warm weather in Spring. I really like that the temperature is just perfect, not too cold and not too hot. 25 degrees is for me the best temperature. I can be okay with 30 degrees too but when it’s getting 40 degrees I’m really feeling bad. I love Summer too but I can’t cope during those really hot days in Valladolid. This city is one hour from Madrid by train and is in the middle of Spain which isn’t so hot as the south hahah. I like to be able to sleep. Sometimes in Summer there are days where it’s just impossible to sleep well because of the hot weather. Spring has just the best temperature.

Being more outside

During the cold Winter months we enjoy to drink a cup of tea with some blankets. We are more inside our warm home. I love that when finally Spring arrive I enjoy being outside more and I love to take walks in the nature with my friends or family. During that time I take pictures, sometimes read a book and just enjoy all this earth has to offer us. I like to feel the warm sunshine on my skin.

I took this pictures a few weeks ago when I walking in the park near to my house. I love my shirt “Happiness looks gorgeous on you” from Carrefour. The sunshine makes me so happy to be outside and take a walk 😄 The right picture below is from Tuesday when I went for a walk with my Spanish friends Maria and Maria 💕

My birthday

This is really a personal reason why I love Spring so much. My birthday is in one month omgggg I will be 25, a quarter of a century. I love that my birthday is on the first of June 🎉. It’s basically the transitition time almost from Spring to Summer. I remember that it’s always sunny on my birthday. Let’s hope that this year it will also be sunny and around 20 – 25 degrees. That would be perfect for me to wear a cute dress and take pictures.

Festivals & concerts

Two years ago I went to Surfana festival in The Netherlands with my best friend. I never went before to a festival that lasted a few days because I don’t like to be in the crowd that much. It cause me anxiety. This was such a great festival because it was not such a big one. We all had space to dance and to enjoy the music. I stayed a few days on the camping. I really loved it. I didn’t like that we had some german people who were extremely loud at 2 a.m. in the morning with music They were promoting Jagermeister haha. I enjoyed this festival so much because it was a special festival. The music genre was surf music, reggea and indie. I just love this music style so much. You could do so many awesome things on the festival too. You could eat food from different countries. We also went surfing, did yoga, did a class of learning more about our mind, wine tasting and carved a sea horse. It was really amazing! We also wanted to watch the stars one day and they would tell us all about astrology but they suspended the class because there were too many clouds. I can’t wait to go again to this awesome festival which took place in the dunes near to the beach 🌊😍 I also love to go to concerts during the Summer months and especially love the outdoor concerts.

I went to Surfana festival in June of 2016 with my best friend Donya. I loved the good vibes, music and the awesome things I did such as yoga, surfing and drinking a piña colada from a coconut. You can see my favourite hippie clothes from Iwearsin on the pictures yeahhh.

Closer to Summer

My favourite season ever is Summer. When the temperature is getting warmer and days are getting longer we know we are in the right direction. When it’s finally Spring I really look forward to Summer. Even though I don’t like the really hot days in Spain I still enjoy those warm Summer months so much. After the dark winter we appreciate it more.

Thank you all so much for reading this post. Do you like Spring as much as I do? What’s your favourite season? I hope you all have a wonderful and beautiful Spring time! I’ll talk to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ❤❤❤,

xoxo Christina

Happy Easter monday! 🐇🐣💐🌹

Hey lovelies 😍,

How was your Easter? I hope you all enjoyed it a lot with your family & friends. Today it’s the second day of Easter also called Easter Monday which is celebrated in some regions in Spain such as in the Basque Country or in Catalonia and also in other countries such as in The Netherlands. I’m still enjoying Easter today 😄 I will show you all some lovely pictures from my Easter. I hope you will all enjoy it.

21433064_10209235022152357_4827816454914850061_n

I made this collage for you all🌹🐇

We always decorate our home in The Netherlands and now we do it too in Spain. It’s typical Dutch to decorate your home with bunnies, chickens and painted easter eggs. It’s also typical to paint Easter eggs. This is such an amazing thing to do with kids and together with your family. This symbolize the Spring time. Here are some pictures from some decorations at home in Spain.

In the Netherlands it’s also typical to have like a Easter bunny who brings presents haha which are of course the parents. My mother bought me a present and I opened it yesterday. It was a beautiful basket with chocolate easter eggs 💜 So delicious! I also loved the fake flower decoration on the present. In Spain it’s typical to eat during the Holy Week “postres penitentes” which you can see on the picture below. During the Holy Week there are many processions in Spain by different religious brotherhoods. This sweets represents the brotherhoods. They have all different clothes on just like you can see on the picture. Those sweets are made by cream and chocolate. It was so delicious! 👌

On the left picture you can see the easter eggs which I got as present from my mother for Easter. On the right in the collage you can see the sweets “postre penitentes” which I ate during this Holy Week. On the right picture you can see a picture of myself. I finally could wear this flower shirt for Spring time 🌞💐

Yesterday night I also enjoyed Easter with my friend Maria. We went to one of my favourite bars in Valladolid called Bar La Alhambra. We ate some delicious tapas. We ate a pincho moruno with some bread and potatoes and a hamburger. We drank a red mosto. This is a typical Spanish drink which is made by grapes. It’s like grape juice and it’s very trasty. I enjoy to drink this a lot in the Summer and any time over the year. It’s such a refreshing drink! I had a great night with my friend.

29594445_10209237708299509_7678530492430706739_n

Tapas night with my friend! Hamburger, pincho moruno and a mosto 😄

Today I will continue eating all those delicious sweets haha but not too much. If I eat too much chocolate I will get sick 😂. Thank you all for reading this blog post. I will talk to you all soon. Enjoy Easter if it’s still Easter in your country. If not, Happy Monday! 💜

Much love 💕,

xoxo Christina

Holy Week in Valladolid & Happy Easter to you all! 🐰💐

Hey lovely bloggers 💞,

I want to thank you all for the lovely comments on my last blog post. I really feel so loved by this beautiful blogging community. I love you all so much ❤ Thank you for always being there for me. In the end, everything was well. I always think that somebody is angry at me when they talk a bit loud. I know my family is sometimes just worried about me but sometimes it makes me feel overwhelmed. It’s my life after all. It’s just that I’m really sensitive for these situations. I have to learn to let it all go. Today, I want to talk about the Holy Week in Valladolid: Semana Santa. This week is really so beautiful.

ssanta-valladolid-2018

I was sick last week with gastroenteritis. I felt really so bad so I couldn’t see so much of the Holy Week in Valladolid but I’m glad that I still could enjoy some beautiful processions this week. The Holy Week is really an important week in Spain. The most important cities with the most beautiful processions are Valladolid and Sevilla. You can also see these processions on Spanish television. During this week there are many processions in the city of Valladolid from different brotherhoods. They are carrying religious statues, pray and play music. It’s such a beautiful artwork. On Tuesday 27 March, I went to the Plaza Mayor of Valladolid with my mother and I bought tickets to see the Passion Procession on Good Friday. I also entered some churches and saw the artwork. It was a really good day of sunshine and it was the first Spring day! 🌞 I loved the 20 degrees and I love to wear a flower headband hihi I’m a hippie girl forever ✌🌻. In the evening I was about to go to see a procession with my parents but I felt a bit dizzy and nauseous because of being sick for a week so I went home. My mother went alone to see some other processions in the city.

On Wednesday 28 March, I felt better and I was so excited to see some beautiful procession in the evening with my mother and my lovely friend Maria. In the evening I went to the city centre where I saw a beautiful procession. This was the first procession which I saw which is named “La cofradia de las siete palabras”. In this procession they carried “Santisimo Cristo de las Mercedes”. My good friend Javi was playing in the music band. I loved how everybody is in silence and watching in awe these processions. This procession took place at 23.00 o’clock in the evening and at 00.00 o’clock we went to another procession near to our house. It was a bit crowdy which made me feel a bit anxious but I could cope with it hahah xD. This procession was named “Procesión de la piedad”. It was a long one where they carried three religious statues: “Cristo de la humildad”, “Cristo de la cruz a María” & “La quinta angustia.” I loved the Maria one. I also loved that they played the Spanish hymn. Viva España, olé! ❤

These are pictures from the first procession which I saw on wednesday 28th of March with my mother and my friend Maria. This was the “Cofradia de las siete palabras” where they carried the religious statue Santisimo Cristo de las Mercedes.” On the right picture you can see the music band playing. My friend Javi is playing and you can see him on the left.

These are pictures from the second procession which I saw on wednesday 28th of March with my mother and my friend Maria. This was the “Procesión de la piedad.” It was such a long one where they carried three religious statues: “Cristo de la humildad”, “Cristo de la cruz a María” & “La quinta angustia.”

This is a video of Youtube where you can see the proncession “Procesión de la piedad.”

On Good Friday, the 30th of March we had tickets to see the Passion Procession at the Plaza Mayor at 19.30 until 22.30. We had seats. It was €10. I was about to see it with my parents and my friend Maria. This is the most important procession during the whole Holy Week. You can see all the 20 brotherhoods together with 33 religious statues in Valladolid. Unfortunately, it was canceled because of the rain. I also checked the weather and it was going to rain at this time. I was really sad about it. It was so cold, rainy and there was so much wind. I can really understand that they canceled it because most of these 33 pasos (religious statues) date from the 16th and the 17th centuries. Rain would destroy this beautiful artwork. Hopefully, I will enjoy it next year. Last year it was my first time experiencing Semana Santa in Valladolid and I was so in awe and I still am. It’s so beautiful and I’m glad I could enjoy some beautiful procession this week. It’s a beautiful museum outside! 💞

This is a video which I found on Youtube from the Passion Procession on Good Friday last year. You can see me at minute 0:05 – 0:09. I’m sitting almost on the last stage on the right. I’m wearing a pink shirt and have a pink flower headband. Next to me is sitting my friend with a blue shirt and my mother. All the 20 brotherhoods are carrying 33 religious statues which date from the 16th and 17th centuries. This is an impression of how I experienced this beautiful and most important procession of Holy Week ❤

The Passion Procession was canceled on Good Friday so my parents, my friend Maria and I went to a bar near to our house. I enjoyed chocolate with churros. This is typical Spanish. Has anyone tried this? It’s really delicious. I also enjoyed a camille tea which is called manzanilla in Spanish. This was the perfect time to drink something warm because of the rain and cold weather. Afterwards, I went to some churches with my mother and my friend Maria. You could see the religious statues in the churches. We went to see the artwork in the churches Las Angustias & La Vera Cruz. My mother went home and I was walking a lot of with my friend. In the evening I ate a delicious slice of pizza in a bar. We also went to a bar to meet up with a friend who was with some polish girls. They are doing an Erasmus in Valladolid. It was really nice to talk with them. I love to meet international people so much and be in contact with many different cultures. At 23.00 o’clock we went home.

On Good Friday I was walking with my friend Maria to Plaza Zorilla where there is a beautiful fountain. I also enjoyed chocolate with churros with my family and my friend & pizza as dinner with my friend Maria mmmmm ❤ I’m loving it!

On Good Friday we visited the churches Las Angustias & La Vera Cruz and saw some beautiful religious artwork.

Yesterday night my mother was going to the Easter Vigil in the cathedral of Valladolid. I have never been to the Cathedral in Valladolid. It’s a service held in traditional Christian churches as the first official celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus. The light up a fire, pray and sing. I used to be in the choir in The Netherlands and sing during this evening. Today there were again some processions. They were in the morning hahah so I didn’t go but my mother went. They were letting some white pigeons fly in the city and all people wear white clothes. It’s the sign of the Resurrection of Jesus.

I’m encouraging anybody who is going to Spain to visit the Holy Week. The most important cities are Sevilla and Valladolid. The Holy Week in Valladolid is full of art, music and religion combined. In Valladolid the people are more in silence where in Sevilla the people are singing on the streets. I think you experience it on a different level but it’s beautiful everywhere.

I wish you all a happy Easter! 😍 May love, light and happiness find your way. Enjoy it a lot with your family and friends. In The Netherlands it’s typical to eat chocolate Easter eggs. I really liked to eat that delicious chocolate. You can also find it in the shops in Spain right now. What are your traditions during Holy Week/Easter? ❤ I would love to know about it.

Love you all so much 💞,

Happy New Year to you all! 😍🌠🎉💃🎶✌💕

Hey lovely bloggers ❤,

I still needed to post some New Year posts. I was so busy with all the celebrations in December. It is never too late to wish each other a happy new year, right?! I will share in this blog post what I did on New Year’s Eve.

I wish you all a happy new year full of love, health, luck and happiness! 🌠💕❤ I really do hope that all your dreams come true because you all deserve that so much. I’m so grateful for my 131 followers. My blog keeps growing and I’m forever blessed for that. I never knew that anyone would actually read my blog posts. I wish that 2018 will be your year. Make it a 2018 to remember! ❤ Make your dreams come true! 💕 You are all beautiful human beings and I’m forever blessed to have you in my life. Let’s always be together and see what the future will brings us.

It was the first New Year’s Eve for me that I didn’t go out in Spain. It was the first night in 7 years that I didn’t went partying with my friends. Some of my friends went to a party and some not. It’s all okay. Don’t feel the social pressure to go out if you don’t want. Don’t drink too much alcohol just to be cool. Do what feels good for you ❤

I had a delicious dinner at home with my family and I drink some champagne 🍸 In Spain it’s a tradition to eat 12 grapes at midnight. It brings luck. I also enjoyed watching a Spanish programme on Antena 3 which was about singing songs together with my family. It was a cozy night in and I really enjoyed it 💕 I was happy to spend it at home. I enjoyed new year’s eve partying these last years but I also find it so crowdy and so expensive when you don’t drink so much. I enjoy dancing a lot but for me it’s better to go out another weekend 💕 What did you do this New Year’s Eve?

Here are some pictures from my night:

I bought this dress last year for New Year’s Eve and this year I wore it again

With Jairo, brother of Veronica (Girlfriend of my brother)

I hope you all enjoyed this blog post. I will write some of my New Year’s resolutions in the next post. I will also share a blog post about the Three Kings which I celebrated last weekend. It’s an important day of celebration in Spain. Enjoy this beautiful new year!! 💕

Love you all so much ❤❤❤

Much love,

xoxo Christina

10 life lessons learned in 2017

This post is all about the 10 life lessons learned in 2017. I already wish you all a happy new year! I don’t like the new year, new me thing. I believe that we can change our lives every day and that it doesn’t have to be just with new year. I hope you all are going to enjoy this new year: 2018! I wish you all a 2018 full of happiness, love, good health and inner peace. May this year be the year of self love and make mental health a priority. I hope that all your dreams are coming true in this new year. Never stop dreaming! ❤

I edited this picture to wish you all a happy new year! ❤

So here are my 10 life lessons that I learned in 2017

1. Ask for help when you need it

This was such an important lesson which I have learned in 2017. I asked for help again when I was struggling a lot with my anxiety in the beginning of 2017. I take 20 mg of antidepressants since february. I’m so happy I got support and the doctor in Spain subscriped me the meds I needed. Since I have been taking antidepressants I feel more happier and less anxious. I still can feel sometimes much anxiety but I’m learning how to live with it. I’m making progress. I’m a warrior. I’m stronger and wiser than before. You should never feel ashamed of asking for help.

I also asked for help during my internship abroad. I was doing my internship abroad at the university of Valladolid. It was my first time working. I never did that before and was afraid. I asked for help when I needed to complete some tasks. They were also so friendly and helpful. I’m really blessed for that. I always thought that asking for help makes you weak but instead it makes you strong. We all need some help in life and you shouldn’t feel ashamed for that. We all need a little help from our friends and family in life ❤

2. Writing heals wounds

I started this blog in August. I never thought I would gain more than 100 followers and have such a great interaction with you all. I love you all so much. I love writing and it’s always have been one of my biggest passions in life. I love to write poetry too. I’m so glad I started this blog. It feels really great to write all my thoughts and feelings down. Sometimes I wrote about some bad experiences I had in life such as being bullied of having my heart broken. Writing is a form of healing. Writing can make you forget the stuff you experienced. When you write about such a bad experience, you are less attached to it and can easily let it all go. Whenever I write aboout something which hurts me, I feel so relieved after I have written that piece. My mind feels lighter again and free off all the thoughts and emotions I had. Writing is such a good way of self love. I also love to journal and wish to continue journalling in 2018.

3. Working life can be full of fun and happiness

I had to do an internship to finish my studies and get my degree of European Studies this year. I did my internship abroad in the international relations office of the University of Valladolid. I worked 5 months, from february till end of june. I must admit that I was so scared of the working life. I was also scared if I would cope with my anxiety. I did such a great job, worked hard and everybody was happy with me. I suffered some anxiety attacks during work and didn’t tell anybody. After a while I told them and they said I had to tell it earlier. They were are so lovely and helpful. I worked from 9 till 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I was in the office of incoming international students. I made a lot of friends. I was helping them with their papers and admissions. I had such a great ambience at work. We laughed a lot and had so much fun. It was defintely one of the best experiences in my life. I felt so happy. I wish to find a career where I’m happy and where work is fun. It’s just so important to have a job where you are happy and aren’t feeling stressed out all the time. I must admit that I was tired a lot because I wasn’t used to the routine. I did it and I’m so proud of my achievement!

4. Having a routine in life is really important for your well-being

I must admit that when I had a routine in my life due to my internship, I felt happier and less anxious. Every day I had to work from 9 o’clock in the morning till 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I went to bed every day at 11 o’clock. Sometimes I went to bed even earlier on days where I felt really tired. I woke up every day at 8 o’clock. It definitely made me feel so good. I must admit that right now I don’t have that routine anymore. My sleep routine was really bad these months but this month I changed it again. Now, it’s better than before. Slowly making progress again. Having a routine in life is just really important for our health, especially our mental health. It isn’t good to stay awake till 5 o’clock at night and wake up late. I felt more stressed because of that routine and less happier. I hope I can change my sleep routine again.

5. Travelling makes you feel more open-minded and connected with the world

I travelled a lot this year through Spain during my internship time abroad and afterwards. I went to Burgos (One hour from Valladolid), Salamanca (Famous of it’s beautiful university), twice to Santander (Beach time!) and to Granada which is in the south of Spain in Andalucia. Some trips I went with my mother and other ones with friends. I love travelling so much. It makes me feel more happier in life because of making new friends all over the world. I made so many friends while doing my internship abroad in Valladolid. I made friends from United Kingdom, Germany, China, Italy, Mexico, Colombia and many other places in the world. Travelling makes you more open-minded. You are open to new cultures. I love to learn more about the differences of the cultures and their languages. It makes life definitely more interesting. I love adventure! It also makes me feel more connected with the world. We are all the same despite our different religions or nationaliaties. We are human. We are all one with the world ❤ I can’t wait to travel more in 2018 through Spain and travel around the world. Every experience makes you richer.

6. Real friends are forever no matter the distance

I have friends all over the world. I grew up in two amazing countries: Spain and The Netherlands. I was living abroad in Valladolid for my internship and right now I hope to find a job in Spain. I went back for Christmas to Netherlands and saw my good friends again. I love the fact that even though you don’t see each other for many months, nothing changed when you see each other again. That’s for me real friendship. Real friends are the ones who will always be there for you no matter the distance. Real friendships are in your heart forever ❤ I love all my friends so much and I’m forever blessed with the beautiful friendships I have. I don’t need to have a million of fake friends, just a few good friends. Friends always make your life better and brighter.

7. Music is life

Since October I’m following the programme on Spanish television of Operacion Triunfo. It’s a Spanish singing contest. Every week a participant has to go home. There were 16 participants. Right now, there are only 9 left in the contest. I love singing so much. I used to sing in a choir for 11 years and travelled a lot through Europe with my choir. Music is so good for you and you health. It makes you feel more connected and happier. Music always have the right words when you can’t explain a situation in only spoken words. Music has the answers of everything. I love Operacion Triunfo so much. I also watch the 24/7 streaming on Youtube which they have.

My favourite participant is Amaia together with Aitana and Alfred. I just bought tickets to see them all live in a concert in Madrid in March 2018!!!! I’m so looking forward to it. I never went to a concert before in Madrid. I’m going with my lovely Spanish friend Maria. The winner will be chosen at the end of January during the last live show. There is also coming a special love show in January to choose the representant for Spain in Eurovision 2018. That’s so excited news. I hope Amaia together with Alfred is going to Eurovision. They performed City of Stars during one liveshow and this moment made history in the Spanish television. You could see so much connection and love between these two young people. They are now together in a relationship which is so cute omggg ❤

8. It’s okay to fail, at least you did your best and tried

After doing my internship abroad, I still had to do an exam which I didn’t do before to complete my studies. This exam was about law and was really complicated. I went to Holland in June and failed for only 0.5. I felt so bad and cried a lot about it. Now, I know that it doesn’t matter if you fail an exam because at least you tried. I went to Holland in August to take this exam again. I got as mark an 8 and I was so happy about it! I learned that failing is okay and doesn’t make you instantly a failure. Making mistakes is okay because you can all learn from it.

9. Don’t give up, because everything will be allright at the end

I struggled a lot this year with my studies. I was so worried and anxious all the time about the fact if I would ever be able to complete my studies and get my degree. I felt a lot of pressure and stress. I had to do some extra subjects because I didn’t obtain all the credits during my exchange semester a few years ago in Spain. I went on exchange to Logroño which is a place in La Rioja famous of it’s delicious wine. I partied and drank a lot during that semester. I was a completly mess. I really regret it now but at least I learned from it and it won’t happen again. I did the extra subjects and got some great marks.

This year, I learned to never give up. You will fall but every time you can stand up again. You will get what you want at the end. At the end, worrying only makes you feel frustrated and anxious. Everything will be allright at the end because I got my degree this year. That was one of my biggest dreams and wishes for this year. I completed this wish because of my hard work and because of never giving up. I trusted myself that I was able to do it because I’m smart enough. I learned to not give in to my insecurities. They are telling me that I can’t do it when it isn’t true.

10. Self love is the most important love in life

I always thought having a soulmate would make me happy and is the most important thing in life. I was wrong. I had a relationship from 17 years old till 19 years old. I suffered a lot with the break up. Afterwards, I was seeking the love of other boys to make my heart heal the wounds. It wasn’t the good way. I don’t kiss anymore boys without having feelings for them. It doesn’t make me feel good about myself. I learned that loving yourself is the most important thing you can do in life. Everything starts with yourself. Everything starts with the relationship you have with yourself. If you aren’t happy with yourself, you don’t do things which will make you happy. The thoughts you have about yourself are so important. Let’s change our negative thoughts this new year and replace them with good thoughts. You are enough, you are loved and you are so worth it. I hope you can all practice self love in this new year and take care of yourself! ❤

I hope you all liked my list of important life lessons which I have learned during 2017. I think my next blog post will about dreams and wishes I would like to complete in the new year. I wish you all a beautiful new year with self love, happiness and good health :)<3 Let’s rock this new year!

I love you all so much ❤

Much love xoxo Christina

Merry Christmas to you all! 🎄❤🎅

Hello lovely bloggers 💕,

This blog post will be all about how I spent my Christmas. In the Netherlands we celebrate Christmas eve, the First and Second Day of Christmas.

Sooooo, I will begin with Christmas eve which was on Sunday. For the first time in my life there were 10 persons at the dinner table. My brother Rafael and Veronica (who are going to marry in August in Spain!) came together with the brother of Veronica: Jairo and her mother: Milagros. Jairo and Milagros came to the Netherlands for the first time to spent Christmas all together. My parents were there and myself of course 😂.  Rafael and Veronica live 10 minutes away by car from us. My other brother Edward, his wife Elke and my niece Noanne also came for Christmas eve. They live in the south of Holland in Geldrop, near to Eindhoven, like two hours away from us. I can’t show you pictures of my little niece Noanne because they want privacy so of course I respect that.

I didn’t see Edward, Elke and Noanne for one year. I’m living in Spain and they are busy with work and with their own company of wedding photography. I was soooo excited to see them again 😍❤ I also am so in love with Noanne. She is now two years old and so damn cute. She can already talk a bit and walk of course. She was saying all the time: “I’m going to Spain” haha which is true. She is going to the wedding of Rafael and Veronica in August.

Before dinner we unwrapped the presents 🎁. I got so many nice stuff. I think I’m going to make a blog post about the gifts too. I got polaroid instax mini films, marshmallows, tony chocolony chocolate, gloves, more chocolate hahah, a book about photography, pyjama’s, handmade soaps, instax mini album and a lot of notebooks and pens. I love stationery stuff so much haha I have so much of it. I’m just so addicted to it 😂 I love writing and journalling.

After receiving our gifts, we ate dinner. We had a bit of meat, salad, potatoes and as dessert delicious chocolate and vanille ice cream with fruits. It was all soooooo damn delicious 😍❤ I love the fact that we are never about eating that much, just enough.

Here are some pictures of Christmas eve at home with my lovely family ❤

My brother Edward took this one with a nikon camera. I bought this dress on the internet and always wear it with Christmas

                                                                  All together ❤

With the brother of Veronica: Jairo ❤

After dinner, Edward, Elke and Noanne went home. My father stayed at home too. I went together with my mother, Rafael and the family of Veronica to the church. For me, Christmas always begins with that. It makes me feel happy and purposeful. Some years I felt empty because of not going to church. I’m catholic and I believe there must be something to believe in. Everybody has their own way ❤

I felt anxious before going to the church because I was about to see my choir. It always brings up memories with my ex boyfriend, my first love. I went to UK with my choir and I met him in the hostel which we were staying. It’s been 5 years ago since the break up but it still hurts. I saw some people which I know from the church and it was nice. I also get anxious about people asking me questions about my life and stuff. The midnight mass of Christmas was so beautiful and my choir sang so beautiful. I knew all songs by heart and was singing them too 😂🎶

                                                 Hodie Christus Natus est 🎤🎶

God rest you merry gentlemen 🎶❤

The mass of Christmas eve began at 22.30 and ended at 00.15. It’s always a long one with Christmas. Afterwards, my parents and I went home and I stayed watching a bit tv with my mother.

On the first Day of Christmas which was Monday, I watched a Dutch movie at home with my parents called Loenatik. I unwrapped some gifts from my father which were chocolate and sweets. My mother got an awesome Rituals set, all for the shower whoehoee I’m gonna use it too 😂  We went for dinner to my brother’s home: Rafael where the family of Veronica also were staying. We were eating all together, 7 persons. In Dutch it’s typical to gourmet as Christmas dinner. This means that you are making your own meat and salad. It’s so nice and delicious. It was all so delicious. We also ate potatoes. As dessert we had vanille ice cream, yoghurt with chocolate, after eight (mint chocolate) and a tea.

Here are some pictures of monday night eating dinner at my brother’s home ❤

After dinner, my parents and I went home. I saw my favourite Spanish singing contest: Operacion Triunfo. It was the special programme for Christmas. I loved Amaia and Rosa Lopez which sang thank you for the music from Abba. I also cried a lot with the final hymn of Operacion Triunfo. I love them all so much. I’m going to see the 16 participants live in March with my good Spanish friend. The concert will be in Madrid! 🎶❤🎤

Today, it’s the second day of Christmas. I was just chilling at home and enjoying the Christmas tree with it’s beautiful lights. I saw the movie Sisi which I love so much. The Spanish family of Veronica and my brother came to our home to drink a cup of tea together with a piece of pie…. so delicious! 🍰❤😍 I just watched a French movie with my parents which was really so funny. I also saw All you need is love, the Christmas special. It’s a Dutch programme about family members and lovers who are reunited again for Christmas after not seeing them for a long  time. It’s really so emotional and beautiful. I always cry when I watch it. The best way to end Christmas is of course with this blog post.

I had such an amazing Christmas! 🎄😍❤ This was definitely the best Christmas of my life. I always had a sad feeling of Christmas because it reminded me of the break up of my first love. Every year I felt a bit happier. This year it just have been so amazing to see my brother Edward again and being all together ❤ I also love my niece so much. Having a little child in our family makes us feel like a child again. I felt so happy and excited again this Christmas. It has been a long time that I felt this way about Christmas. I also loved that the family of Veronica was here.

I’m so blessed for everything. I’m so blessed to have an amazing family. I wish that you all had an amazing Christmas ❤🎄 If you are going through a grief, bad time or are missing someone, remember I’m here for you all. Christmas doesn’t have to be perfect. Do things you love and spend it with people you love 💕

Merry Christmas beautiful bloggers! 🎄❤💕 I love each of you so much.

Much love,

xoxo Christina

Christmas decorations in Spain 🎄🎅

Hey lovely bloggers 💕,

It’s been two weeks since I wrote my last blog post. I have been busy writing Christmas cards and packing my bags for my trip to The Netherlands. As you know, I’m half Spanish, half Dutch. I have family in the Basque country of Spain and in The Netherlands. Right now, I’m spending less than two weeks in The Netherlands to celebrate Christmas holidays with the family and finally see my best friends.

In today’s blog post I will share pictures of the Christmas decorations in Spain. It’s the most wonderful time of the year! 😍🎄🎅⛄❄️💕🎁 Christmas time is almost here! I really like the decorations so much and the lights. It makes everything so cozy and nice! I especially love the window stickers and the Christmas tree. Spain is a catholic country and it’s typical to put the “belen” from Bethelem in house. You also visit belens in the churches of Spain. When I’m back at the end of next week I’m going to visit them.

I hope you all liked my Christmas decorations in Spain! 😄 My next blog post will be with Christmas. I’m gonna share in that blog post the Christmas decorations at home in The Netherlands. Do you also decorate your house? How are you going to spend Christmas?

I wish you all already a merry Christmas and a happy new year! May all your wishes come true! ❤ More awesome blog posts will come in the upcoming days!

Love you all ❤
