Spotify Wrapped 2019 πŸŽΆ

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

I love to read other music reviews of 2019 and I also loved to see mine. I’m excited to share it with you all. Music is life. We can know a person’s personality through their music style. I love Taylor Swift, she’s my favourite artist of this decade and forever. I love romantic music and music which touch my soul 🎢. It has to make me feel something. Music is always there for us, in good and bad times. I can definitely see within the years I have Spotify how my music taste has changed depending on what I was going through in my life.

How my music changed within the seasons

Winter β„οΈβ˜ƒοΈπŸŒ¬οΈ

In the Winter I listened to Ariana Grande, Alfred GarcΓa and the podcast of Yoga Girl. The new album Thank u, next of Ariana just came out and I had it on repeat. Same goes for the album of Alfred which came out in December. I also listened a lot to the podcast of Yoga Girl – conversations from the heart. I listen to her podcast every week so that doesn’t change at all.

Spring 🌼🌷🌻

During the Spring time I listened again a lot to Ariana Grande, Alfred GarcΓa and to the podcast of Yoga Girl – conversations from the heart. What changed was that I also listened a lot to the song Arcade of the Dutch Duncan Laurence which was the winner of Eurovision. Best song ever. Goosebumps all the time.

Summer 🌞🌊

In the Summer I only listened to Taylor Swift’s new album Lover. Best album ever πŸ˜πŸ’–. I still listen to it. I also listened to the podcast of Yoga Girl of course. That never changes haha.

Autumn πŸπŸƒ

During Autum my music didn’t change that much. I still listened to Taylor Swift, and also to a new podcast of Yoga Girl which is Yoga Girl daily. The daily version are just 5 minutes each day which could be a meditation or an insight or thankful Thursday. I also listened to Miki NΓΊΓ±ez who represented Eurovision for Spain last year πŸŽ‰πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ.

Top artist of 2019

My top artist was Ariana Grande which was surprising to me because deep down in my heart my top artist is Taylor Swift haha sorry, no not sorry πŸ˜‚πŸ’–. I also love Ariana so much and because her album came earlier I listened more to her album in the beginning of 2019. Maybe, next year this changed. I listened more than 10 hours to her music. My favourite song was bloodline. I love this song.

Top artists of 2019

I’m not surprised that these are my top artists as they are my favs but I also thought Amaia and Sofia Ellar would make the list. I also listened so much to them. Maybe, next year. I love Ariana, Taylor, Alfred, Julia and Aitana. I love to listen to American artists and Spanish ones.

World citizen

I listened to a lot of music from different countries of the world 🌍. I listened to music from 24 different countries. I listened to music from USA (Ariana Grande), of course Spain a lot (Aitana), United Kingdom (Ed Sheeran), Avicii (Sweden, his posthumous album was beautiful… I still miss him so much) and also BTS (South Korea).

My top genres

I listened mostly to pop music, Spanish pop, Dutch pop, Colombian pop and R&B in Spanish. It’s just all pop except of the R&B.

My top 10 songs

1. Arcade – Duncan Laurence
2. Lover – Taylor Swift
3. The Archer – Taylor Swift
4. Bloodline – Ariana Grande
5. La Venda – Miki NΓΊΓ±ez
6. Fake Smile – Ariana Grande
7. Anxiety – Julia Michaels ft. Selena Gomez
8. Imagine – Ariana Grande
9. Bad Idea – Ariana Grande
10. You Need To Calm Down – Taylor Swift

I love all of these songs and artists. They all have a special place in my heart πŸ’ž.

My top podcast

The only podcast I listen to is the one of Yoga Girl – conversations from the heart. I listened 3007 minutes to her podcasts which is more than 50 hours. Her podcasts are the best. She’s the biggest inspiration in my life. Her podcast are so inspiring and full of beautiful lessons. They are about self love, mental health, trauma, healing, yoga, motherhood, relationships, life, death and everything in between. I wish to meet her one day and go to a yoga retreat in Aruba πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ό because it’s my biggest dream evah πŸ˜πŸ’–πŸ™βœ¨.

Time spent on Spotify from the last decade

Last year I listened to more music on Spotify than this year. If you see the minutes I listened to music on Spotify in 2015 until now it definitely decreased. I think in 2015 I still listened to break up music so had to use Spotify for that.

The best music of the decade

My music taste changed a lot during this decade because at the end of 2012 I experienced my first and only heartbreak πŸ’”πŸ˜’. I listened a lot to the song A drop of the ocean and other songs of Ron Pope. I also listened a lot to all the break up songs of The Script. I don’t like The Script so much anymore because they changed way too much. After those years I listened a lot to Passenger. Let her go is my favourite song of him. I loved his concert where I went to a few years ago. In 2017 the song Despacito was such a hit through the whole world. Last year I listened a lot to Sofia Ellar and I still do. I love her so much. This year was the year of Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. My favourite song of the year is Arcade because that’s the winning Eurovision song and made so much impact on me 😍😭. I needed this song to heal my broken heart at the end of this decade. It touched my heart in so many ways.

Duncan Laurence – Arcade

My top artist of the decade

The artist of the decade for me is Passenger which is normal when you saw above that I listened to his songs a lot during this decade. Now, I listen more to up beat and happy songs but also more slower ones. It’s nice to listen to all different kinds of music styles.

Stats of 2019

Ariana, Taylor, Alfred, Julia and Aitana are my top artists of 2019 of course. I listened 7233 minutes to Spotify which is a lot. My top genre is of course pop πŸ’ƒ.

My decade wrapped

My top artists of this decade are Passenger, The Script, Ron Pope, Frank Hamilton and Joshua Radin. These are all artists I listened to after the break up of my first love. The next decade this will definitely change because I almost don’t listen to these artists anymore. My favourite number was definitely Let her go from Passenger. I also loved Rojitas las orejas from Fito y Fitopaldis. This is one song I listened to a lot when I liked a Mexican πŸ‡²πŸ‡½ guy haha it was our song. I also loved the song Coastal Love from Honne. My top genre was of course Pop.

My top songs of 2019 – Playlist

You can listen to my songs of 2019 on this playlist which Spotify made for me. There are Spanish songs in them but also English songs.

Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope you found it interesting to hear about what kind of music I listened to this year and decade 🎢. What are your favourite artists of 2019? What were your favourite songs this year? Which music genre do you listen to? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love πŸ’•,

xoxo Christina

Music of October πŸŽΆπŸ’ž

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

I know I’m a bit late with this post but doesn’t matter, right?! I’m always late for everything so yeah that’s me πŸ˜‚. It’s never too late to share some good music of the month October. Last month some good Spanish music and other pop music have been released 🎢.

Camila Cabello – Cry for me

Camila Cabello is only releasing so many good songs 😍. I can’t wait for her new album “Romance”. I can’t wait for this beautiful album of songs related to love. I know I will like it as I have been loving all her new songs so much. I think this song is amazing and has such a nice beat.

Camila Cabello – Easy

Always thought I was hard to love till you made it seem so easy, seem so easy

What a beautiful song! πŸ’–πŸ‘Œ This is definitely one of my favs of Camila. I love her sweet voice and the lyrics is so relatable. I also find myself being needy and always overthinking. I think that I’m hard to love as well but it’s just that the right person will love you for who you are. Love has to be tender, easy and not complicated.

Harry Styles – Lights up

Harry Styles is back and I can’t also wait for his album too! This song is wonderful and he is so cute too. His voice is just amazing and only gets better and better. Also off topic, I really miss One Direction. I wish they will come back together one day.

Ed Sheeran ft. Camila Cabello & Cardi B – South of the border

This song was released already in Summer but the video not. I really like it. I also find Camila always so sweet and beautiful in the video. I love to hear her singing in Spanish too. This song has such a good vibe and makes me feel like dancing. It’s just very chill and relaxing.

Duncan Laurence – Love don’t hate it

“There are no boundaries, no limits when it comes to love. It’s the purest thing we have in this world and yet so many people, including myself, have to fight for it every single day”

BEAUTIFUL SONG FROM ONE OF MY FAV ARTISTS YASSSS!!! 😍 If you don’t know who Duncan is you have been living under a cave haha because I wrote so much about him. You can read all about him HERE. Long story short, he represented The Netherlands in Eurovision Song Contest this year and won. I’m still so happy that happened and would love to see it live next year. I also have concert tickets to see Duncan alive in Ziggo Dome Amsterdam in March 2020. He is such a cutie and so handsome. He is touring now through Europe. After Arcade this is his new single. I love it so much. It’s so good. It makes me dance the night away and makes me so happy. His voice is perfect. The quote you can read above is from his Instagram. He is bisexual and sexuality is still a somehow taboo in this society. This is a song about accepting yourself and who you choose to love. I love him so much.

Alfred GarcΓa – Londres

Alfred GarcΓa already released this song before but finally the video clip came out of this song. Londres is a beautiful song about London and it’s one my favs from Alfred. It’s amazing. I love the vintage vibes ✨. It also make me kinda nostalgic to when I saw the Spanish talent show because he wrote most of his songs of his album in the Academy. I would love to find someone to love like Alfred. I love his creativity, his passion for music and his sensibility. He has struggled with anxiety and depression and I love how open he always is about these topics because it’s so important to share. It can help yourself but also others too.

Melani – Marte (Representing Spain in Eurovision Junior Song Contest)

Melani is 12 years old and represented Spain in The Eurovision Junior Song Contest this year. She sings opera and also pop. It’s such a beautiful song with an important message. It’s about not throwing plastic in the ocean. It’s about climate change and to take care of our planet as we only have one 🌍🌊. Her voice is beautiful. Those high notes are incredible difficult to sing. She sings the song being the ocean itself.

In this video above you can watch Melani singing the song live at Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Poland last Sunday. She did so well and finally after 13 years Spain was back. I’m proud of her third place but I wished she won. I hope Spain will do well next year in the adult Eurovision too.

Melendi – Por encima de la bruma

Melendi is a well known Spanish artist and his songs always have such a beautiful message. I love this song as it’s also very emotional. It’s about women suffering from breath cancer. I wish everyone will get better as it’s a horrible sickness. Right now, I know a little child from 6 years old who is suffering from leucemia. I hope she will get better soon πŸ™. This song is about being brave and transforming fear into love. The money from this song are all donations for the Spanish association for cancer.

Selena Gomez – Lose you to love myself

“We’d always go into it blindly
I needed to lose you to find me
This dance, it was killing me softly
I needed to hate you to love me, yeah

I’m so happy Selena is back! πŸ’ž I have always loved her songs so much. This song is so beautiful and really made me tear up. It reminds me of my first love and how much that heartbreak hurt me. I needed to loose him to find myself again. Even though I’m still struggling from time to time with loving myself, low self esteem and also anxiety I love myself more than years ago. That’s already something to be proud of. Sometimes we have to lose someone we love so much to appreciate the love for ourselves more. At the end, our relationship with ourselves is the most important one we can have. This song is just perfect. She sings so beautifully. I love it. The black and white video fits perfect by this song.

Selena Gomez – Look at her now

“She knows she’ll find love (She knows)
Only if she wants it”

Selena is also releasing her new album in January. Everyone is releasing new albums and I’m not ready for it haha because that means YEAHHH buying concert tickets! I don’t have enough money for all of them. This is the other song she released and I love it. This song makes me feel proud to be a woman who is strong and fierce. All women are beautiful. Girl power!

JP Saxe ft. Julia Michaels – If the world was ending

This song is so beautiful. Anything with Julia Michaels is just perfect. Their voices together fit so perfectly. You can feel the emotion through their singing.

OG3NE – Straight to you

The sisters from the girl group OG3NE just released their new album. They represented The Netherlands a few years ago in Eurovision. They also have won The voice of Holland and Dance, Dance, Dance. I love their voices so much. The harmonies are beautiful. They lost their mother a few years ago because of cancer and I admire their strength to carry on and sing. They are such sweethearts and deserve the best. I wish to go to a concert once. I have already shared some songs of the album which were released before which were “First clash lovers” and “Starve”. Below I will share my three favourites of the whole album.

Og3ne – One world away

“We are stronger when we stand together
We are one world away from love
We gotta chance to make a difference
We got a chance to make it right

In this video they performed this song live. I love this song so much. I also love the lyrics so much. It’s definitely one of my favs. They sound so good together. This song makes me feel powerful and it’s just a feel good song.

Og3ne – You

Wow so beautiful. Their voices together are so magical. This song is wonderful. I could listen to it so many times and not get tired of it. I love this sound as it’s calming to listen to.

Og3ne – The end

Dear friend can you help me
Cause I got so much shit I can’t comprehend
I’m on a cliff so high, staring at the depths so low
And I got no where else to go

I’m looking for a shelter
A place I can run to
So don’t you leave me alone
It’s been a thousand times

That’s I’ve been there too, for you
You never had to ask me though
So this is your turn now
To give whatever I need
It’s not the time to shut the door
I’m so afraid of what could be

They sang this song live during the Summer. I think this song is beautiful and I just had to share the lyrics. It’s so relatable, honest and so pure. It’s important that friends are there for each other when we need it the most. Sometimes I find myself that I care way too much about other people than they care about me so then it was time to ask myself if that was a real friendship. I’m happy I only have authentic and people who care about me in my life right now. I don’t need fake friends. They sang so beautifully. I love their individual voices but when they sing together it’s so amazing πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘.

Thank you all for reading this post full of amazing music 🎡. What was your favourite song from my list? To which song or artist did you listen to in October? To which new album are you most looking forward to? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love πŸ’•,

xoxo Christina

Music of July πŸŽΆπŸ’—

Hola lovelies πŸ’•,

This was again such a good month full of beautiful music! 😍🎢🎡 I’m happy to share some of my favourite songs of July with you all below. I hope you will like them too.

Taylor Swift – The Archer

“All the king’s horses, all the king’s men
Couldn’t put me together again
‘Cause all of my enemies started out friends
Help me hold onto youI’ve been the archer
I’ve been the prey
Who could ever leave me, darling?
But who could stay?”

I can’t wait to buy her new album on the 23th of August which is called Lover. I love this new song of her. It’s included in her new album. It feels different than her album Reputation. I love the sound of it and it sounds and feels so dreamy. I love it so much. I can’t wait for this new era of Taylor full of hearts, flowers and colourful things. I love her so much 😍🌸. Every song she makes is so good!

Miley Cyrus – Mother’s Daughter

“Don’t fuck with my freedom.

My mama always told me that I’d make it
That I’d make it, so I made it
I put my back into and my heart in it
So I did it, yeah, I did it”

I love the new songs of Miley Cyrus! I have to admit that I had to get used to this song but I really like it. It’s a good song and it empowers women. Our freedom is the most important thing. I loved how her mother was also showed in the video. Miley Cyrus is back and I’m really happy about that.

Miley Cyrus – The Most

I love this video even if it isn’t the offical music video but it looks so cute. I love this song so much. The melody, the lyrics, the sound, just everything of it is so awesome!

Duncan Laurence – Arcade (Acoustic version)

I already told you in this blog post about Duncan Laurence winning The Eurovision Song Contest for The Netherlands. I’m just so in love with this song. He just released the acoustic version of Arcade which sounds as good as the other version. So pure and so emotional 😍😭. Goosebumps all over my body. His voice is so beautiful and this song means the most for me. FAVOURITE SONG EVAH. I can’t wait to hear him sing this song live in concert in March in Amsterdam! I also can’t wait to go to Eurovision next year.

Sam Smith – How do you sleep?

I’m done hatin’ myself for feelin’
I’m done cryin’ myself awake
I’ve gotta leave and start the healin’
But when you move like that, I just want to stay

SO GOOD! Amazing song! I love it from the beginning to the end. I love the choreography and his voice is so beautiful. I have to admit that I don’t listen to many of his songs. I guess I have to do it more.

ROSALÍA – F*cking Money Man (MilionΓ ria + Dio$ No$ Libre Del Dinero)

These are two songs which RosalΓa released together in the single F*cking Money Man. They are combined in one video. I love them so much. The first one MilionΓ ria is in Catalan. It’s a rumba. It’s about her love and hate for money πŸ€‘πŸ’°. In this first song she sings about how she would love to be a millionair to buy and do whatever she wants. However, in the other Spanish song Dio$ No$ Libre Del Dinero she sings about how she would want to burn all that money and that God has to save us from it all. I guess we all feel this way about money. It’s nice to have money but money will never buy us all the happiness we need in life. I love the meaning behind these songs and everything!

David Bisbal ft. Juan MΓ‘gan – BΓ©same

Amazing Summer song! πŸŒžπŸ’—πŸŒŠ I always have loved David Bisbal so much. I remember dancing and singing on his songs when I was younger and I still am a fan of him. I also love Juan MΓ‘gan who makes songs with a more reggeaton style. It’s a song full of good vibes, Summer vibes, happiness and love. BΓ©same means kiss me. They sing about a girl kissing him for the first time and that he will love him forever in his arms.

Sofia Ellar – La RevoluciΓ³n (For the movie Angry Birds 2)

One of my favourite artists, Sofia Ellar, from Spain has released this new song for the movie Angry birds 2. I love her so much. It’s very cute and it sticks in my head all the time!

Isma Romero ft. Alfred GarcΓa – Cicatriz

Beautiful song! I didn’t know Isma Romero before. I love their two voices together. It’s such a great song. It’s a temazo like they say in Spain!

Carlos Sadness – Ahorita

I love to discover new artists 😊. Carlos Sadness also sang a song for the album “1016” of Alfred Garcia. He is a Spanish song-writer and his songs are of the genre indie and pop. I just saw this song when I opened Youtube one day and I loved it. It’s a chill song. It’s a song about not being in a hurry. Ahorita means right now or could mean in a little while. They use this expression a lot in Latin America. I always say that I’m on my way but then I’m sometimes too late.

Ed Sheeran – No.6 Collaborations Project

I was so excited for this new album of Ed Sheeran πŸ’•. It’s an album full of collaborations with famous artists such as Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello, Eminem, Bruno Mars and so much more. It’s such a good album with so many styles of music like rap and pop songs! I already loved the song “I don’t care” from Ed Sheeran together with Justin Bieber. Here are my favourites songs from his new album.

Ed Sheeran ft. Camila Cabello & Cardi B – South of the border

LOVE THIS SONG 😍. I always love to hear Spanish and English together in one song. It sounds so good! I also love Camila Cabello so much. The melody is also really nice and chill.

Ed Sheeran ft. YEBBA – Best part of me

“But she loves me, she loves me
Why the hell she love me
When she could have anyone else?
Oh, you love me, you love me
Why the hell d’you love me?

‘Cause I don’t even love myself

Baby, the best part of me is you
Lately, everything’s makin’ sense, too
Oh, baby, I’m so in love with you”

WOW WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SONG πŸ’—πŸ‘Œ. These are my favourites kinds of songs of Ed Sheeran. I didn’t know YEBBA before and wow she has such a beautiful voice and together with Ed Sheeran it sounds so damn good.

Ed Sheeran ft. Ella Mai – Put it all on me

I try to be strong, well, I got demons
So can I lean on you?
I need a strong heart and a soft touch
And you’re the one when I want love

Another amazing song! I love the sound of it so much. It makes me really happy to listen to this song.

Ed Sheeran ft. Paulo Londra & Dave – Nothing on you

Again I love it when I hear English and Spanish together in one song. It’s such a great mix of voices. It’s a really great song with a good beat.

BTS – Lights

“You’re my light
No matter how far apart we are”

Wow love it! What a beautiful song! This song is all about love and I also read that’s a love letter to their fans. I think that’s so sweet of them. The music video is also so pretty.

Kygo ft. Chelsea Cutler – Not ok

This song was released in May but the video came out in July. I love the clip so much and the song is just AMAZING! It’s okay to not be okay. We all search for validation like you see in this clip. At the end of the clip the girl in the pink dress says: “I want pizza.” and “I look great after a mental breakdown.” I couldn’t relate more to these two sentences hahah πŸ˜‚βœŒοΈ.

Thank you all for reading this blog post full of good music 🎢. Have you listen to any of these songs? Which one did you like? What was your favourite song in July? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love πŸ’•,

xoxo Christina

Duncan Laurence from The Netherlands won Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song Arcade!!! πŸ˜πŸ’•πŸŽ‰πŸŽΆπŸ‡³πŸ‡±πŸŽ™οΈ

OMGGGG HI LOVELIES πŸ’•,

I’m so excited. I just can’t hide it. I’m about to loose control and I think I like it hahah πŸ˜‚πŸŽΆ. I just needed to write this blog post because I feel so emotional and so excited since Saturday night. I felt it already these months when I heard the song Arcade. This blog post will about how I experienced one of the best nights in my life which I will never ever forget. I will write about the victory of The Netherlands winning Eurovision Song Contest 2019 after 44 years. I will also share more about who Duncan is as a person and artist.

I’m such a eurofan and I’ve always been. I love Eurovision Song Contest so much. It’s my favourite music event of the year. I’m always looking forward to it. I’m always most looking forward to the songs of The Netherlands and Spain. I also love to hear the songs of other countries. I’m into pop, indie, latin music, some house music, classic and choir music which I used to sing in my choir and I just love music so much. It makes me the happiest person on earth 🌎😍. Going to a concert and seeing your favourite artist live is just the best thing ever. Meeting them in person and talking with them is even better. Getting a picture with them is just the best too.

I get inspired by many artists and what I find the most important thing of an artist is that they are authentic, stay true to themselves and can be vulnerable. So, the first time I heard that Duncan Laurence was going to represent The Netherlands this year I was like who?! Who is that? Normally popular and famous artists of The Netherlands go to Eurovision. Last year Waylon went and in 2014 The Common Linnets went which were Ilse DeLange together with Waylon. They song a beautiful song which ended at the second place. The song was a lovely country song called “Calm after the storm.”

The Common Linnets – Calm after the storm (Eurovision Song Contest 2014)

So first in January they said that Duncan Laurence was going to represent The Netherlands. I saw some videos of him singing in The Voice of Holland on Youtube and was already impressed by his beautiful voice. He reached the semi-finals. He had as coach Ilse DeLange.

Duncan Laurence – Sing (The blind auditions of The Voice of Holland of 2014)

Then I also listened to the video below which is especially made as an assignment for the Rock Academy. After singing in the Voice of Holland he went to the Rock Pop Academy in Tilburg. He made his own version of the song “Stolen Dance” by Milky Chance. It’s one of my favourite songs and hearing it with Duncan’s voice gave me goosebumps and makes me cry every time 😭. His voice is so pure and so beautiful. I could listen all day and all night to it 😍🎢

Another video I found on Youtube of a song he wrote called “Come back Home”

He is such an amazing singer-songwriter. I’m really so impressed. He went through a hard time during his school years because he got bullied. He got bullied because of being different. He wore braces, had glasses and a different body size. He found his passion of music through this experience. He could be himself when he was making music at home and also in the Rock Pop Academy in Tilburg. Music was his safe place where he could be his self. He also told in some interviews how he was covered in his insecurities. He was afraid to be open and vulnerable.

Writing his song Arcade in The Rock Pop Academy in Tilburg

He also said that it is important to not build a wall. It reminds myself of my own experience with bullying. I build a wall and I still haven’t break it fully like it still influences me as a person when someone is rude to me. I think often when I hear a stranger laughing that it’s about me. I still have to break this wall just like Duncan did. The most beautiful words of him during an interview in Tel Aviv in Israel where these ones:

“Don’t build a wall. Don’t focus on the ones who don’t like you, stick to the ones who like you and love you and inpire you. I tried to change myself and focused too much on the ones who didn’t like me.”

I so agree with what he said because it’s just so true. Whenever I’m with my family or good friends I feel happy because they love me for who I’m and accept me. Those are the people who you need in life and not the toxic ones. Being bullied isn’t our fault. Most of the time the bullies are insecure themselves. I wrote about my experience of bullying in this blog post. He also said that with his music he wants to be the voice for those who have a soul which is damaged by others. He is going to tell their stories and let us see that we aren’t alone. He such a bubbly, beautiful and humble pereson that I tear up 😍😭

Ilse DeLange was his coach in The Voice of Holland and always had contact with Duncan after he participated in this talentshow. Two years ago he was writing the song “Arcade”. He put that song together with other songs in a Dropbox file. Ilse heard this song and was impressed. A few months ago before Eurovision began she called him on a Sunday morning and asked him if he wanted to represent The Netherlands this year. The whole delegation of The Netherlands was impressed by this song. Of course he said YEAHHHH and then the adventure began. I don’t want to repeat myself because I already told a lot about this song in other posts like in this post. There I sang my own cover of Arcade 🎢.

β€œβ€˜Arcade’ is about a lost love. And hoping for that love to return. But it doesn’t. All the emotion, rawness, bitterness, angriness or happiness or hope that comes within that. That’s what I tried to capture in β€˜Arcade’. It is indeed a story about myself, about a love that I once lost when I was younger.”

Duncan lost someone very special in his life. This woman only turned 40 years old. She was hoping that her love came back but he didn’t. She stayed in love with her loved one until she died. Duncan wrote this song about that story. The song, lyrics, melody everything describes these real feelings and emotions. It’s so honest and vulnerable just WOW. He is naked in the clip and you can see his butt haha which is very beautiful indeed.

Duncan Laurence – Arcade (Official Music Video for Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Israel)

β€œWe tried to capture the vulnerability of a human being. The most vulnerable you can be is naked. Being completely nude leaves you all vulnerable in that massive water world, with the surface representing the hope and everything you long for. The struggle, the fight that comes with it to get there. That is what we try to capture.”

Since I listened to this I have had winner vibes. I knew this song could win because it’s the best song I’ve heard. I get so emotional and have goosebumps all the time I listen to this song. I’m even thinking now to get a tattoo with something of the lyrics of this song. My favourite sentence is: “Loving you is a loosing game.” I’m afraid of needles so don’t know if I will get a tattoo but this just sticks in my head. Since he released his song he was number one in the bookmakers and that didn’t change.

I watched everything from Eurovision such as all his interviews which were so nice to see. I watched the first semi-final of Eurovision last week even though he didn’t had to sing. He was singing in the second femi-final which was last thursday on the 16th of May. It was incredible and I had to cry so much. My father only watched that song with me because he doesn’t like Eurovision. I always watch it with my mother. Of course he passed through the finals which was last Saturday the 18th of May. I was so happy when they said The Netherlands as second name to pass. Normally they say it almost at the end.

Duncan performing his song Arcade during the second semi-final of Eurovision Song Contest 2019
Singing Arcade during the second semi-final

He sings Arcade every time so beautiful and every time it’s different. I like that so much because you can feel the emotion. He really feels it at that moment and sings it from his heart. During the final he had to sing at the 12th place and it was even better and more beautiful than in the semi-finals. It’s just incredible how good and beautiful he sings. I feel his emotion all the time when he sings it πŸ’•. We all feel it. We can all relate to this story.

THE FINAL PERFORMANCE!!!!
The Netherlands – Live performance of Arcade from Duncan Laurence

I was so nervous and anxious this whole week too and couldn’t sleep well. It even felt like I had to sing hahah instead of Duncan who always stayed calm. I was just so excited of thinking that he could win πŸ˜‚. During the jury votes I was getting so nervous. I was happy when we got 12 points from Portugal, Sweden, France, Israel, Lithuania and Latvia. Thank you so much! Sweden won the jury votes but everyting could change during the televotes. They begin with the last country and told every country how much televotes it got. The Netherlands got 261 which made them first. I was already so excited but there was only one country left to tell them their points which was Sweden. If they got more points than The Netherlands they would have won. Duncan was so nervous and me too. We all were. At the end they said 93 points for Sweden.

THE NETHERLANDS WON YEAHHH!!!

I began to scream and cry so hard. This was definitely one of the best nights in my life. I couldn’t sleep well that night. I had also stomach cramps but I already have them these months so it’s not only because of Eurovision I guess. My father was sleeping so I didn’t scream that hard hahah πŸ˜‚. He doesn’t understand all my emotion and happiness around it. It’s just incredible that an unkown artist won with such a beautiful song. I’m also a highly sensitive person so everything makes me feel so much. I feel every emotion deep. My country, The Netherlands won after 44 years! πŸ˜πŸ‡³πŸ‡±πŸŽΆπŸŽ‰πŸŽ™οΈ I still can’t believe we are going to organise Eurovision next year. My dream is seeing it live so I hope I can get tickets. My dream was also to see The Netherlands or Spain win so I’m so happy and so proud! πŸ’ͺ

His winner’s performance was so emotional too. Hearing the crowd singing the song is just the best feeling ever. He also was looking up to the sky because he sings this song to the one he lost.

Duncan wrote history. Everyone knows him now. His song is number one in many iTunes charts. I will never get tired of this beautiful song or of him. I love him so much πŸ’—. I’m so grateful to have a new artist in my life who I admire so much. He is already writing more songs so I can’t wait to hear them. I also would love to see him live. All his concerts are sold out now. His voice makes me crack my soul open and make me feel so many feelings. I have to admit that this song also reminds me of my break up with my first love πŸ’” I kept hoping after I lost him that he would come back but until today he didn’t. Maybe that’s why I get so emotional with this song. I can still feel how my heart broke but I also feel the hope in this song. There will be new people to love and experiences to live.

“This is for dreaming big, this is to music first, always!” – Duncan Laurence

Thank you Duncan for being real and from growing from a wallflower to a beautiful artist who stand for things. He is bisexual and open about it. He told about his bullying experience. He is honest. He is vulnerable. I’m so thankful that you are real in this sometimes fake and dark world. Thank for coming in our lives. You give me hope in my life to reach my dreams 🌠✨. Thank you for making us happy and feel inspired. You are one of my fav artists now. I will never stop loving you 🎢. Loving you is a winning game! 😍✨ i love u forever cutieeee πŸ’—

In Tel Aviv, Israel. He such a cutie just look at him. I get so angry that kids bullied him because he is such a beatiful person inside & out.
Duncan singing live an acoustic version of Arcade on De Wereld Draait Door before he went to Israel

Life wouldn’t be the same without music. It makes us feel things, we feel less alone and it will never leave us. I will also keep singing as I love to sing. I don’t know if being famous is something for me but joining a choir again or having singing classes would be amazing. I would love to learn guitar or piano too one day. I miss that so much to be honest 😭. With singing I can release emotions and it makes me so happy 😍

Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope you find this post as inspiring as I found it to write it. What do you think of the song Arcade and the story behind it? Did you watch Eurovision? Do you also tear up with beautiful songs? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Loving you is a loosing game πŸŽΆ

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

It’s time again for a singing cover 🎢. I once shared a cover from the song Supermarket flower by Ed Sheeran in this post. I hope you all like this cover I made a few days ago. As a eurofan of Eurovision Song Contest I wanted to make a cover of Arcade from Duncan Laurence who will represent The Netherlands in Eurovision this year πŸ’—πŸŽΆπŸ‡³πŸ‡± .

You can listen to my cover here:

Cover Arcade – @itsduncanlaurence πŸ’—πŸŽΆπŸ‡³πŸ‡± . I spent all of the love I've saved We were always a losing game Small-town boy in a big arcade I got addicted to a losing game Ooh, ooh All I know, all I know Loving you is a losing game @itsduncanlaurence will represent The Netherlands with this beautiful song called Arcade in Eurovision Song Contest this year. Thursday is the second semi final and I hope that Duncan will go to the finals and of course win Eurovision! Every time I listen to this song I get emotional and cry. It makes me feel so much. All the feels. It's a beautiful song and has a beautiful melody which I can't get out of my mind. The lyrics is so good too. Duncan is an amazing singer songwriter. I love him because he is so down to earth, bubbly and sensitive πŸ’• He is such a cutie. Everything about this song and about him is WOW. I can imagine how many people can relate to this song and get emotional when they listen to it. The videoclip was made in the water. His inspiration came from a loved one that passed away at an early age. She was hoping for her loved one to come back but he didn't. Arcade is a story about the search for the love of your life. It’s about the hope to reach something that seems unreachable. The water surface in the video represents the hope. The nude reflects the vulnerability and perhaps the rebirth from the hope. We all can relate to this story in our own lives too like when a dream can't be reached, when someone is dying or when you heart is broken and you are still longing for that person to come back. I really do hope The Netherlands wins after 44 years with this unbelievable beautiful song which gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. If a song can make you feel so much emotion and if the singer also brings that emotion to the audience then for me it's definitely a winner πŸ†πŸ˜ I really want to be able to see The Netherlands and also Spain win Eurovision Song Contest for once in my life. Good luck Duncan! Whole Europe already loves you as you are still number one in the bookmakers. I guess that's already a good sign. I can't wait for Thursday and Saturday! πŸŽ‰πŸ‡³πŸ‡± Let's gooo and win yeahhh! πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

Music of March πŸŽΆπŸ’—

Hey lovelies πŸ’•,

In this post I will share you my favourite songs from last month March 🎢. I’m sharing a lot of Spanish songs too and hopefully you like them too. I will share some older songs too which I loved listening to. I have a cold right now and feel bad but still wanted to post. Blogging always makes me so happy πŸ’—βœ¨

Duncan Laurence – Arcade (Eurovision The Netherlands)

A broken heart is all that’s left
I’m still fixing all the cracks
Lost a couple of pieces when
I carried it, carried it, carried it home
I’m afraid of all I am
My mind feels like a foreign land
Silence ringing inside my head
Please, carry me, carry me, carry me home

Loving you is a loosing game”

Duncan will represent The Netherlands in Eurovision. I already wrote a lot about him and this song in my latest blog post. Every time I listen to this song I cry and feel emotional. It’s so beautiful and touching. The story is also so beautiful. His inspiration came from a loved one that passed away at an early age. Arcade is a story about the search for the love of your life. It’s about the hope to reach something that seems unreachable. The water in the video symbolizes the hope.

Miki NΓΊΓ±ez – La Venda (Eurovision Spain)

Miki will represent Spain in Eurovision this year. I already shared this song in this post. The video clip was released in March so I had to put it here. I love it 😍. This song and video brings only good vibes and an authentic Spanish fiesta πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒ

Luca HΓ€nni – She got me (Eurovision Switzerland)

Luca will represent Switzerland in Eurovision this year. I love the song and the clip. It’s an upbeat song and also reminds me of Spain and the song “Despacito from Luis Fonsi”. I think it will do well on Eurovision.

Alejandro Sanz & Camila Cabello – Mi persona favorita

This is such a beautiful song πŸ’•. Alejandro Sanz is a famous Spanish singer. I love that he made this song with Camila. Their voices fit perfectly. This song is about Alejandro’s favourite person, his little child. I also love hearing Camila sing in Spanish. She sounds so good!

Sofia Ellar – BaΓ±arnos en vaqueros

Sofia Ellar is one of my favourite Spanish singer-songwriters. I loved going to her concert last year as it’s so personal and all her songs are amazing. She just released this new single. It’s about bathing in jeans. In the clip you also see her dancing and bathing with her jeans in the sea. She sings about how about being alone is okay and feels good. I loved the good vibes and I’m just so in live with her voice 😍😍😍 I also love her hippie personality and how authentic she always is. That’s how I love to live my life too, as authentic and staying as true to myself as possible.

Ava Max – Sweet but psycho

“Oh, she’s sweet but a psycho
A little bit psycho
At night she’s screamin’, “I’m-ma-ma-ma out my mind”
Oh, she’s hot but a psycho
So left but she’s right though
At night she’s screamin’, “I’m-ma-ma-ma out my mind”

Omgggg this song 😍😍😍 I’m in love. Yes I have been living under a rock because I just listened to it. It was on the radio in Spain a lot. Ava Max is amazing. This song is just such a bop. It’s so addicting to listen to this song a million times. I will never get bored. It makes me very happy πŸ€—

Jonas Brothers – Sucker

I’m so happy The Jonas Brothers are back!!! It reminds me of my memories with watching Camp Rock. It was released at the end of February but I listened to it now. I love this song. It has a fancy melody and it’s just really nice.

James Bay ft. Julia Michaels – Peer pressure

They sound so good together. I really like James Bay and Julia Michaels. Julia sing so good with so many artists such as with Niall Horan too. I really like this sweet song.

SebastiΓ‘n Yatra & Reik – Un aΓ±o

I love these two singers so much! This song is so beautiful. It’s about a long distance relationship, a love you didn’t see for one year and they sing about that love is strong enough to survive that. I also really love these kind of songs sang in Spanish because it makes it more romantical. Spanish is a very romantic language.

ROSALÍA & J Balvin – Con Altura

I LOVEEEE ROSALÍA SOOO MUCH. She’s one of the most popular artists right now in Spain and internationally too. I already wrote about her in this post. I love her album “El mal querer”. This song is different than what she normally makes but it’s nice. This is more the reggeaton genre than pop or flamenco. J Balvin also sings reggeaton songs.

Mark Ronson ft. Miley Cyrus – Nothing breaks like a heart

“This world can hurt you
It cuts you deep and leaves a scar
Things fall apart, but nothing breaks like a heart
And nothing breaks like a heart”

I’m always late to the party hahaha πŸ˜‚ so I just listened to this song right now and a lot in Spain because it was on the radio a lot. I loveeee it. I have to admit that I don’t know Mark Ronson. I love the powerful voice of Miley. It sounds amazing. I also can relate so much to the lyrics. It’s true that nothing breaks you more than a heart πŸ’”.

Julia Michals – Deep

I really want to go one of her concerts as I never went before. I love her every day more and more. She’s so authentic and lovely. This song is on her newest album “Inner monologue part 1″ which was released in January. The video clip of the song was released in March. I love this song. I can’t wait for the second part of her new album.

Julia Michaels – Apple

The video clip of this song was also released last month. It’s so beautiful with all the flowers πŸ’πŸŒΈπŸŒΌπŸŒ»πŸŒΉ. This is one of my favourite songs from her new album together with the song “Anxiety”.

Thank you all for reading this blog post. What was your favourite song from my post? Which music did you listen to last month? What’s your favourite artist/music genre? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love πŸ’•,

xoxo Christina
