August favourites ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒž

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

It’s still Summer in my head lol ๐ŸŒž. I still need to write some posts about Summer haha. At least then I can still enjoy Summer. Nowadays all I see is rain and a grey sky in Holland. I miss Summer so much ๐Ÿ˜ญ. I hate the Winter months. It also makes me feel low and depressed at times. I had so much fun in August. I enjoyed the swimming pool many times, I ate a delicious amount of food in Spain, had fun with my friends and more which you can read below. August is only about food mostly haha I love it.

Things I did with my lovely family ๐Ÿ‘ช:

Going to the swimming pool ๐ŸŠ

I LOVE swimming so much! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’• I already miss swimming so much. It’s so good for your physical and mental health. I went seven days to the swimming pool. I went some days with my mamita and also some days with my lovely Spanish friend. I also enjoyed eating some snacks, bread and reading some books and magazines on the grass. Those Summer days going to the pool are definitely what make my Summer complete. I wanted to go more days but I couldn’t because of my period and I also had to go to the dentist for my wisdom teeth removal. Swimming makes me feel so happy and relaxing. I can’t wait to swim again soon. I’m a mermaid forever ๐Ÿงœโ€โ™€๏ธ.

Eating a delicious ice cream ๐Ÿง

I love to eat ice creams from Iborra which is the famous ice shop in Valladolid. It’s SO damn delicious. It’s all natural. I always love the flavour white chocolate and mint chocolate chip ice cream. I love it so much!! We also made some nice pictures on the beautiful main square of Valladolid.

Milkshake time ๐Ÿ’•

My favourite milkshake is the chocolate one with whipped cream. Aaaah it’s so delicious mmmm!! ๐Ÿ˜ I like to eat it on La Plaza Mayor with mamita. She always drinks a camille tea. My mother also ate a delicious apple pie. It was a beautiful Summer night to spend the evening on a terrace outside.

Meeting up with Jairo and his mother ๐Ÿ’–

We finally saw the mother of Verรณnica and Jairo. My brother didn’t come to Spain this Summer because of the pandemic. It was nice to see them and drinking something together. I hope that soon we can all be together again and celebrate life. I find it hard to not be all together again. That makes this time hard because all we want is just to be around our loved ones. That’s what makes life worth living. I hope those times will come soon again ๐Ÿ™.

Eating a delicious tortilla at Erchus ๐Ÿ˜

A typical Spanish food I love is tortilla de patata. It’s an omelete of eggs and potatoes. I also drank a delicious mosto which is grape juice and we got some free chips. I love the new restaurant Erchus so much. It looks pretty cool now with the letters and the new interior.

Delicious dinner at Elany ๐Ÿด

Elany is my favourite restaurant ever in Valladolid. I always come there so much. The owners are so sweet. It’s nice to go to places where you know the people ๐Ÿ’ž. That evening we ate some delicious croquettes with grape juice and we got free tortilla de patata with the Spanish flag ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ haha. I always carry those ones home.

Pancakes in El Corte Inglรฉs ๐Ÿฅž

El Corte Inglรฉs has so much delicious food always. We ate delicious pancakes with whipped cream and warm chocolate sauce ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ’ž. My mother had some bread with fish and a delicious glass of red wine. I drank a camille tea. I love the view from the restaurant so much. You can see whole Valladolid. The restaurant is on the last floor which is the sixth floor.

Beautiful sunset in the park Las Moreras ๐ŸŒ‡

I love Summer sunsets so much ๐ŸŒž. I went for a beautiful walk many times with my mother and we saw a beautiful sunset. The sky was stunning. I loved the colours blue, pink and it even looked purple too. We don’t need much in life. I was in awe watching it. We went for a beautiful walk along the river and just enjoyed the view. It’s those little moments in life which counts so much โœจ.

Walks in nature ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณ

We spend some more time just enjoying nature and watching the beautiful view from the river. I love it so much. It’s so calming to watch the stillness of the water. Afterwards, we had a delicious dinner at Erchus. I loved the sandwich mixto with potatoes and a mosto. My mother drank a camille tea and got some free churros and olives. It was all delicious like always.

Things I did with my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’–:

Having dinner with my lovely friend ๐Ÿ’™

I enjoy eating dinner again at Elany. We always eat there. It’s cheap and delicious so why change from place?! I love my favourite restaurants so much. We eat some delicious croquettes with bread and some grape juice. It was so nice to be able to see friends again. I missed you so much amiguita mia. I love you forever. I’m so grateful to have such great people in my life who love me for the way I’m.

Other amazing things of August ๐Ÿ’ž:

New shirt from Azabache ๐Ÿ‘•

I love the new shirt I bought from my favourite shop Azabache. I have so many clothes from them. I love those hippie clothes. This white shirt is perfect for beautiful Summer days. I love the motives. It’s too cold now to wear it but maybe I can just wear it at home lol.

Watched The Greatest Showman ๐ŸŽฌ

I got this beautiful DVD from my daddy for my birthday ๐Ÿ˜. I already saw this movie once and it was amazing to see it again. This movie is SO GOOOOD!!!! It’s just so wonderful made. The songs are amazing ๐ŸŽถ. My favourite song is ”This is me”. It reminds me of the time I got bullied during high school. This is me and I’m enough the way I’m. ”I am brave, I am bruised, I am who I’m meant to be, this is me.” Those lyrics just hit me so much. No sharp words will put me down. I also love Zac Efron in this movie and just all the actors. Hugh Jackman is amazing. It’s just so important to know that we all matter in this world no matter how we look like, which gender we have, race or nationality or whatever. We are meant to be in this world and deserve all the love and happiness. If you want to watch a feel good movie then this one will be perfect for you. I also got emotional just watching this beautiful movie and hearing the songs.

Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope you liked it. Have you also watched The Greatest Showman? Which food of my post would you love to try? Do you also love to go swimming? What did you do in August? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

Happy three year blogging anniversary! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŒปโœจ๐ŸŒˆโœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽˆ

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ’ž,

I’m so happy to write this blog post! On the 16th of August my blog turned three years ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ˜. Happy three years blogging anniversary to my lovely blog and safe space! โœจ I can’t believe I’m blogging for three years already. I even forgot that it was today due to the crazy times we live in right now. I never take my blog for granted. I’m so proud of this achievement. My life wouldn’t be the same without my blog. It’s a seed ๐ŸŒฑ I planted 3 years ago which grew. I’ve almost 500 followers now. I will tell about some blogging plans I have in this blog post, some statistics and just some thank you words because I’m so grateful for all of you who have supported me during this crazy adventure. I love you all so much ๐Ÿ’ž.

I have always loved writing. I used to write in journals and diaries ๐Ÿ“. I still write some of my thoughts and poetry in a journal. I would love to use it more though. Writing is a form of expressing myself in a way I can’t while speaking. I also would love to be able to write some songs because I love singing too. Writing definitely heals our heart. We are told to not share our struggles or our feelings when it’s so much better if we do it in order to heal our hearts. Blogging makes me so happy. I never knew that I would meet so many amazing and beautiful people like you all are. You all mean the world to me. I really wouldnโ€™t know what I would do without you all. Your support and love makes my heart glow from happiness. You all mean so much to me. You make me all so happy and I love to get inspiration from you all. I hope you also get inspired โœจ by my words and feel less alone.

To be honest, I never expected my blog to grow and find such inspirational people on there. I remember I was searching on Google three years ago on how to gain followers or grow my blog. If I knew back then that it will just happen day by day. I just have to be myself and create quality content. It has to make me happy and if it makes me happy then it can make others happy too. Not everyone has to like you and you have to be okay with that. There will be always people out there who won’t agree with you but that doesn’t make you a bad person. Not everything is about us. The internet can be a nasty place but also such a beautiful one. The blogging community is the loveliest community ever. We all respect each other and are there for each other. It’s so rare to find nowadays. I love to write about mental health, self love, feminism, travel trips, poetry, books, new music which comes out and just anything I love or want to share. I don’t like to have a special niche because I love to write about anything I like without having to limitate myself. I’ve always a lot on my mind so I love to share it with you guys haha ๐Ÿ˜‚โค๏ธ.

Now, I would love to share some blogging statistics from this year. I love to be able to look back and think about how much my blog grew during these three years.

Some blogging statistics from this year:

A to Z of my favourite things in life (300 views)

Do you think itโ€™s possible that some people are born to give more love than they will ever get back in return? ๐Ÿ’• (1002 views, I guess many followers come to my blog from this blog post, it’s also one of my favourite posts)

Top 10 countries that have visited my blog ๐ŸŒ:

I find this such an amazing thing to look at when I look at the statistics. So many people from all over the world visit my blog. Itโ€™s so crazy! I think itโ€™s amazing. Sometimes I also see countries which I donโ€™t know such as Palau, Togo or The European Union lol which is not a country. I exactly know which bloggers friends visit my blog when I look at the stats haha.

1. United States (3713 views)

2. United Kingdom (937 views)

3. India (866 views)

4. Canada (465 views)

5. The Netherlands (453 views, including my views haha)

7. South Africa (313 views)

8. Indonesia (259 views)

9. Australia (246 views)

10. Singapore (210 views)

One of my blogging plans in the future would be to go self hosted one day. I will do that when I don’t have any free space left. I’m anxious to do that because I heard stories of bloggers loosing their content. If you do it on WordPress it wouldn’t be a problem, right?! I would love to learn more about this topic. I also would love to be able to maybe earn money from my blog. I invest so much time in it and I’m still looking for a career. I would love to be able to gain money while being a writer. I hear people saying how difficult it is. I know that already but what if I make my dreams come true. What if we all make our wildest and biggest dreams come true? ๐ŸŒ  It doesn’t matter what others tells us because we have the right to persue whatever we want to achieve. I believe the universe has a plan for all of us.

One of my other goals is to gain 1000 followers. It isn’t about the followers but it’s nice to be able to reach this blogging milestone. It will take time and patience and I will keep blogging. I don’t like all those influencers and people only focusing on followers and numbers because it isn’t the most important thing. It isn’t real. I would rather have less followers but the ones I have being active and not passive followers or ghost followers which exists a lot these days. I also don’t like those bots on Instagram which only post disgusting comments always. It’s annoying ๐Ÿ˜’.

I also would love to be able to meet you all one day ๐Ÿ˜. That’s one of my biggest dreams because it would be so nice to finally be able to see you and hug you all. We can’t hug now due to this pandemic but hopefully soon we can. I would love to guide you in Spain or in The Netherlands. I would also love to be able to travel to your country and see more of the world. I love travelling the world. I would love to talk with you about my life, dreams, fears, the things I love or just anything. We could go for a drink, eat some delicious tapas, go to a concert together ๐ŸŽถ, write blog posts together, sing, dance ๐Ÿ’ƒ, surf ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ, take pictures and just enjoy each other’s company. It would make me the happiest girl in the world. I’ve made life long friends because of blogging.

I just want to say thank you for everything. I’m so blessed to have you all in my life ๐Ÿ™โœจ I love my real life friends and online friends so much.  Everytime I feel my life is turning upside down and I feel like the clouds are crying with me I turn to my blog and I begin to write about everything whatโ€™s on my mind no matter how dark or heavy itโ€™s. You guys always help me in these moments. You are always there for me. I appreciate that so much. It feels good to know that I’m not alone in my struggles and that there’s someone who understands me and cares about me even when we have never have met. Online friends are real friends too. I canโ€™t wait to meet you all one day. We will ALWAYS be friends โค๏ธ yeahhh.

Thank you all for reading this happy blog post. I hope you liked it. What do you love about my blog? Do you think we will ever meet? Do you think that internet friends can be real friends too? What are some blogging plans you have? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

I love you all so much ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’žโœจ,

xoxo Christina

May favourites ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒž

Hola lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

It was so hot these days ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ”ฅ. I’m happy Summer is back but I can’t deal with the heat. In The Netherlands 30 degrees is way too much and also humid. In Spain I’m used to the Summer but it’s dry which is different. Right now, there’s a bit of a storm. Always the same weather here haha. I’m really happy I enjoyed some beach days which I will share with you all soon. Now, I will share about my May favourites. In this blog post I will share about my bike tour ๐Ÿšฒ through Haarlem with my mother, writing a story for a writing contest ๐Ÿ“ and winning some giveaways.

Things I did with my lovely family ๐Ÿ‘ช:

Bike tour through Haarlem ๐Ÿšฒ๐ŸŒž

I love biking through Haarlem with mamita ๐Ÿ˜. It’s been ages since I used the bike haha how bad ๐Ÿ˜‚. I just feel sometimes a lack of energy or my heart beats fast when I bike. I do it on my own time with my mother. I don’t have a bike to use in Spain. It’s been lovely weather all these months. I’m so grateful for these beautiful moments full of sunshine ๐ŸŒž. I’m also blessed to live in Haarlem, such a romantic city. I prefer small cities so much more than big cities. We did a bike tour from our house through our park to Haarlem city. We sat along the river Spaarne and saw some cute animals such as lama’s, a pony and a duck with babies. I loved it. They were so cute!!! On the way home we saw my brother and his wife from the balcony. I hate to not be able to hug each other normally but it is what it’s. Better than nothing. I love you. I believe in the good things coming. Stay safe you all ๐Ÿ’ž

Mother’s Day ๐Ÿ’

I was sad that we couldn’t celebrate Mother’s Day like we always do each year with the whole family. At least, my brother and his wife came to our home to give my mother beautiful flowers, a card, pie they made and chocolate. I gave my mother also a handmade card and a phone case with flowers and a butterfly on it. She loved it very much. I’m sure next year will be better. I’m so happy to have a beautiful mother like you are. Thank you for being there for me in good and bad times. I love you till the moon and back ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒœ๐ŸŒ›.

Walks in the park ๐ŸŒณ

I had some nice walks with my mother in the park and we enjoyed the sunshine. One day we ate delicious ice cream ๐Ÿฆ. My mother ate a Magnum and I ate a raket rocket. I love it! I also enjoyed the daisies and the other beautiful yellow flowers ๐ŸŒป. I love to see the flowers blossom and all the green in the park. It’s such a beautiful world.

Watching Eurovision Europe shine a light ๐Ÿ’ก๐ŸŽถ

There was no real Eurovision this year but I’m happy to have enjoyed this alternative show called ”Europe shine a light”. I always watch Eurovision every year together with my mother. Music always unites people and especially in hard times. I loved to see Duncan Laurence singing his new single Someone Else. It was so beautiful ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽค. I loved the orchestra performance too. I also loved so much when all the participants across Europe performed the song Love Shine A Light by Katrina And The Waves. I hope next year I can join the family show with my friend live in Rotterdam because I already bought tickets for it.

Watched Begin again, Frankie and Johnny & the serie Never have I ever ๐ŸŽฌ

I loved the movie Begin again with Keira Knightley and Adam Levine. It’s a sweet movie about a singer-songwriter who is chasing her dreams. I loved the songs and it really inspired me to follow my dreams. I love singing so much too but I don’t know if being famous would be something for me. I also liked the movie Frankie and Johnny with the famous actors Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer. Johnny has just been released from prison, and gets a job in a cafรฉ beside waitress Frankie. Frankie is a bit of a loner, but Johnny is determined their romance will blossom. I think it was a beautiful movie that makes you think about how love finds you. It wasn’t a clichรฉ movie at all. I also loved the first season of the serie Never have I ever which I saw on Netflix. All episodes are just 20 or 30 minutes long. It’s about The complicated life of a modern-day first generation Indian American teenage girl, inspired by Mindy Kaling’s own childhood. It was so good. It was about the trauma of loosing a parent, grief, heartbreak, friendship, family, school, the Indian and American culture and love. I cried and laughed at the same time while watching these episodes. I can’t wait for a second season!!!! ๐Ÿ˜

Operaciรณn Triunfo 2020 ๐ŸŽค

My favourite Spanish talent show Operaciรณn Triunfo 2020 came back for a month ๐ŸŽถ. It got suspended in March because of the pandemic. The 9 contestants had to leave the singing academy. In this academy they also sleep. You can watch what they do on a livestream because there are camera’s in the academy. It’s so much fun. Every week there’s a liveshow where they sing some songs. At the end the winner got chosen a few weeks ago. I’m so happy Nia won because she rocked every song which they had given to her. She can sing, dance and perform the best. The winner gets โ‚ฌ100.000. Sometimes I also think of going to this talent show and participating in the casting. I just don’t know if being exposed so much would trigger more of my anxiety and if it would be something for me. I love this talent show so much. The teachers and the production are so kind. In 2017 I went to one of the concerts in Madrid with my friend and it was one of the best experiences in my life. You really build such a beautiful fan relationship with the artists which come out from this talent show. I can’t wait for a new edition! ๐Ÿ’–

Things I did with my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•:

My best friend’s birthday ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ‰

I couldn’t celebrate the birthday of my best friend for obvious reasons. I was happy to have made her a beautiful collage which I always make and a beautiful handmade card. As you all know, I love writing letters and making cards. As present I got her Lush products which was a shower gel and soap. I’m happy she loved it. I love you to the moon and back. Thank you for being the best best friend I could wish for ๐Ÿ’•.

Sending cards to people who are sick, lonely or need to cheer up ๐Ÿ’Œ

There was a girl which I follow on Instagram who was writing cards to people she don’t know in The Netherlands. I asked to join the group and already sent more than 40 cards to people who are mentally or physically ill, lonely or just need to cheer up in The Netherlands. Coronavirus made the elderly more lonely and receiving a card made them happy. I got the stamps for free and also the beautiful cards for free because it was a donation. I love to write and help other people. It makes me feel less alone in my own struggles of this life and it makes me feel happy. I love to be of service. You never know what someone is going through so be kind always and spread love because we all need it so much ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™.

Other amazing things of May ๐Ÿ’–:

Writing a story for the Sea of words contest ๐Ÿ“

I wrote a story in Spanish for the โ€A sea of wordsโ€ contest. It has the same name as my blog. The European Institute of the Mediterranean tagged me on a post in Instagram. The contest is every year. This year it was about young people faced with climate change in the Mediterranean and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development ๐ŸŒŠ. The story I wrote is about me being in the sea with my boat and then suddenly being stuck surrounded by plastic bottles. Then a man comes to help me and talks about how important it is to take action. I already won an essay contest in 2015 and spoke at the United Nations in New York City ๐Ÿ—ฝ so I thought why not try again even though my inner critic is loud sometimes. The jury is now reviewing the stories. The 10 best winners will be chosen in July and will go to Barcelona at the end of September for free and will have a creative writing course. Itโ€™s really so amazing. I will keep you all updated.

Winning a scarf from the shop Azabache ๐Ÿ’–

Nowadays I’m entering so many giveaways on Instagram. I love it so much especially when I win of course. I won a beautiful scarf from my favourite shop in Valladolid. Azabache has so many beautiful hippie clothes. I bought a lot of dresses and other clothes there. I won a scarf with the famous print of Gustav Klimt ๐ŸŽจ. It’s beautiful.

Winning books from Melissa Wells and The Goddess Collective journal ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ†

I love Melissa Wells. She is a certified eating psychology coach and health coach. She has such a beautiful community. In December after doing the advent challenge I won a membership to The Godess Collective online which is a platform to work on loving ourselves, growing ourselves and has so many amazing workshops. Now I won the giveaway on Instagram. I love to keep winning stuff haha. Normally I wouldn’t won anything. I won the books from Melissa Wells which are about the diet culture, loving ourselves and having a healthy relationship with food. I don’t struggle that much with this topic but I love to learn more about it though. I also won the journal which is so beautiful. We are all goddesses yeahhh! I can’t wait to go her retreat in Bali too one day ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒŠ. That would be so magical.

Flower box postcards set ๐ŸŒธ

I bought a beautiful flower postcards set online. I can use them for my pen pals and other people I write. It contains 100 postcards with flowers ๐Ÿ’ by 10 different artists. The 10 cards from each artist are different from each other. I love flowers. The cards are colourful, original and just so beautiful. It was โ‚ฌ20 but definitely worth the prize!

Thank you all for reading this blog post. What did you do in May? Did you ever won a giveaway on Instagram? Do you love to go biking? Did you ever participated in a writing contest? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

Today it’s my 27th birthday! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽโœจ๐ŸŽˆ Forever a gemini child โ™Š and hippie girl yeahhh! โœŒ

Hola lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ‰ OMG 27 YEARS YOUNG. I feel old lol ๐Ÿ˜‚. I have sometimes pain in my body like period cramps, back pain, feeling nauseous, teeth problems, suffering from anxiety but lol I still lived 27 years so I guess it’s okay. I feel like a grand mother ๐Ÿ‘ด sometimes. This blog post will be about my birthday and some things I learned these years. It’s a kinda strange birthday because of this pandemic and lockdown but it’s also special. It’s the first birthday in 4 years that I’m again in The Netherlands celebrating it and not in Spain. My good friend is sleeping here. My brother, his wife, my bestie and her girlfriend are coming today but of course with distance. Better, than nothing. I miss face to face connection so much. I missed seeing them so much ๐Ÿ˜ญ.

I sometimes feel a bit depressed, anxious and emotional with my birthday because of society’s expectations. In 3 years I’m 30 years old but I still feel like a ”baby” in the world. I don’t have a job yet, no hushband, no baby, no driving license, no car or don’t own a home. Does that make me unsuccesful? Does that make me not worth it in this society? I just hate that society create those rules. It only makes me feel depressed and create more anxiety. I am where I am in live and it’s all okay. I’m realizing now more and more that who I’m is more important than what I do.

If there is one thing I’m realizing now during this pandemic and just this year in general is that I have to choose for myself. I have spent so much years of my life doing what other people expected of me. I have spent so much time in doing things I don’t like or being with the wrong people. It only drained me and made me feel bad about myself. I have wasted too much time in toxic relationships. It wasn’t worth it. I realized afterwards that all these people and boys had one thing in common: they didn’t deserve my love. I give so much to people and didn’t get that same amount of love back. They weren’t worth my time. If only I knew then what I know now I would not have done certain things or wasted my time on the wrong people. I failed, I learned and I grew from these mistakes. I will try to not repeat them in the future.

I have always hide myself and I still do that at times and I’m done with it. I hide myself because of being bullied ๐Ÿ˜ข. Not many bullies seem to know what the consequences are of bullying. It’s really the worst for your mental health. I still suffer sometimes when someone is laughing or talking a bit loud. Then instantly I think it’s about me but of course it isn’t true. Anxiety is also being caused of being bullied. I’m done with hiding myself for who I’m. I’m happy that I’m being myself know more and more online and also in real life. I have the best friends in real life, online and family in the world ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’•.

I want to be completely myself in everything I do and in everything I am in life. I have always been afraid of growing older because of being afraid of death. I also talked about that topic in this blog post. Now, I’m realizing that growing older is also a privilege. Not everyone can grow older because of sickness. I have also been afraid of aging because I always thought I have to be a certain way in life. I can’t like or do the things I like now in a few years. Well, that’s a misconception. I will forever be the hippie girl โœŒ, mermaid and wild child I’m ๐Ÿ˜‚. I will not change for anyone. I WILL BE MY CRAZY SELF. I will keep reading young adult books ๐Ÿ“š, blogging, penpalling, surfing ๐Ÿ„, travelling the world, singing ๐ŸŽถ, loving the sea ๐ŸŒŠ, listening to my favourite artists such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Julia Michaels, Sofia Ellar, Duncan Laurence, Aitana, Amaia, Alfred and keep having fun with my friends. I will keep being myself which means being romantic and sensitive. I’m a highly sensitive person and feel every emotion and also suffer more. I can’t take that away from me because otherwise I wouldn’t be me. Growing older doesn’t mean I have to change about what I like or not. I just grow wiser.

This year I faced one of my biggest fears which was going to the dentist to get one of my wisdom teeth pulled out. I’m SO proud of myself for doing this!!! ๐Ÿ’ช It’s a big achievement for me. I spent years in anxiety and I still know I have to get three out. The first step is there. It went all so great because of the lovely dentist and his team. He knew exactly how to support me and take care of me while I had so much anxiety. You can read it here. Sometimes I feel some problems in my teeth because I still have to get rid of three. I prefer to do it in Spain but we postponed our trip because of the pandemic. Maybe we can go in the Summer if it won’t be dangerous for any of us. I’m just really happy to have faced this fear. I hope with the next visits I will feel less anxiety. I know anxiety will be there always but hopefully a bit less now I know how things go. That’s also the reason I prefer to go in Spain because I know the dentist. I find it hard to trust again in someone new. It’s nice to go to some familiar places.

This year I also have had some amazing good times with my friends and family ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ƒ. My last birthday was amazing because my friend from Granada came to visit me for the first time in Valladolid. Me and my Spanish friends ate all together in a creperie. We had such a great time together. I also enjoyed my time with my Dutch friends in Haarlem in November. I came back from having a hard time in Spain and being so anxious about having to go to the dentist and just life. It was nice to be able to enjoy some time all together eating delicous tapas in La Cubanita. In January I ate there again with my good friend. I also had a nice time with my family eating all together and celebrating birthdays. I really miss that but I know that time will come again.

I also travelled to beautiful places this year which were my second home Valladolid in Spain โœˆ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ. I’m so blessed to have that in my life. I love my Spanish friends and family so much. It’s home. I even feel more at home there than in The Netherlands where I have been born. Home is also where your favourite people are. I love both countries so much but Spain always more haha. In July I travelled again for the 4th time to Granada, one of my favourite cities in Spain. I have a good friend living there. My mother and I went to his appartment at the beach and also enjoyed the city itself. We always have an amazing time and I really can’t wait to go back!!!! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒŠ It’s a tradition to go each Summer but we don’t know if that will be possible this year. I also travelled to Gijรณn which is in Asturias for the first time in August with one of my best friends in Spain. We had such a great time. We enjoyed the beach, had great fiestas haha, eat delicious tapas, went shopping and had such a great girl time.

It was years ago since I went with a friend again on a holiday. I really missed it and I can’t wait to do it again. I still remember that night we met some cool guys which invited us for drinks without anything in return. No bad boys for once yeahhh. They were partying with us the whole night. It was so much fun. One of their friends was about to marry. I just can’t wait to travel again to new places in Spain and wherever in the world because travelling makes me so happy and most importantly, it makes me feel ALIVE!!!! You make new friends, have fun, learn about different cultures and learn more about life and this world we live in ๐ŸŒ.

Right now, I just submitted a story for a contest which is called ”A sea of words” just like my blog like what the hell?! The European Institute of the Mediterranean tagged me on a post in Instagram. Otherwise I would never have found it. My instagram for my blog is also called that way. It’s a contest which is every year and the topics can be about gender equality, climate change, environment or just anything related to make this world a better place. This year it was about young people faced with climate change in the Mediterranean and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. First I wrote an essay but it wasn’t what they ask for so I had to change it into a story which was a bit more difficult. The story I wrote is about me being in the sea with my boat and then suddenly being stuck surrounded by plastic bottles. Then a man comes to help me and talks about how important it is to take action. I have always had that inner voice inside of me who says to take action and give some ideas. I already won an essay contest in 2015 and spoke at the United Nations in New York City ๐Ÿ—ฝ so I thought why not try again even though my inner critic is loud sometimes. The jury is now reviewing the stories. The 10 best winners will go to Barcelona at the end of September for free and will have a creative writing course and dicuss their ideas. It’s really so amazing. I will keep you informed if I win and if it’s even possible to travel.

A few days ago I also submitted my two poems ๐Ÿ“„ about vulnerability and strength for the organization MIND in The Netherlands. This organization helps people with mental health illnesses. My poems are about the sea and about being bullied and how that made me stronger and about accepting myself for the way I’m. The winner will be chosen online from the best 5 and the winner gets a poetry award. The 5 winners can speak their poem in an event. All these things make me super anxious and are so outside my comfortzone but I have to do it because I love writing and I know that I’m good at it. I have to stop bullying myself that I’m not good or smart enough. I will keep my fingers crossed โœŒ๐Ÿ™.

With all of these things I do and did in the past, I’m just being myself and embracing the person who I’m which loves to write, do yoga, sing, surf, travel the world, read and help other people and hopefully making this world a better place. I love La Pachamama!!! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ˜ Thank you all so much for forming part of my life. Thank you all for being there for me in good and bad times. I love you all so much. I wish you all peace, love & happiness! Forever young, wild and free! โœŒ๏ธ We are all childs of the universe. This life is a gift โœจ Let’s hope this new year of life will be amazing too!

Thank you all for reading this blog post. I’m so happy to have you all in my life. Do you also join writing contests? Do you think 27 years is old? Do you think society creates rules for us? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

March favourites ๐Ÿ’•โœจ

Hola lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

I’m back with my favourites from March. It was a good month until we got all locked down at home. I was struggling so much by that time. Now I feel a bit more calm. It feels more normal when of course life is not normal. It was nice to have some fun in March. It was nice to have seen some people which I didn’t see for a long time. I’m missing them now ๐Ÿ˜ข. In this blog post I will share about meeting my best friend and her girlfriend, seeing the baby of my friends brother and having a new laptop.

Things I did with my lovely family ๐Ÿ‘ช:

Visiting the baby of my friends brother ๐Ÿ‘ถ

We visited the baby of my friends brother. They are also our friends. We went to their wedding. My parents are also friends with their parents. The father of the child has a brother which is bff with my brother since they were little. They were in the same classes. It was so nice to see the baby Ryan๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’–. He is so cute and lovely. He is so calm too and sleep peacefully ๐Ÿ˜ด. We ate beschuit met muisjes together with tea which is typical to eat in The Netherlands. They were blue because it’s a boy otherwise it’s pink for a girl. I love this tradition. We also loved the 4 cats, my fav is the orange cat haha Garfield! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฑ They are so fluffy and cute!!!! It was nice to see the wedding pictures too. It’s been already 7 years since we were on their beautiful wedding.

Pancakes time ๐Ÿฅž

After visiting the baby we ate some delicious pancakes at home. I always love to eat them so much. My daddy makes the best pancakes in the world. They were delicious as always! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹

Walks in the park ๐ŸŒž

It was very sunny in March and even more now in April. I love to walk in the park with my mother which is just around the corner of my house. It’s nice to be in nature always. I love to go on walks where we see the cows and the mills which is a typical Dutch landscape. I also saw some beautiful pink flowers.

Eating a delicous disco dip ice cream ๐Ÿฆ

I love disco dip ice cream so much ๐Ÿ˜. It’s so typical to eat this here. I ate it at the Hema when it was still open for ice cream. Right now, the restaurant is closed. You can still get ice cream in some other places though. I love this so much. It’s also so good for my teeth lol not. It’s so delicious. I love the crispy taste of it. Also it looks so beautiful.

New stationery from Euroland ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

When I went shopping I bought some nice stationery from the shop Euroland. I bought a sticker set which has some beautiful theme stickers from Spring time, cats and quotes. I also bought a set of 6 envelopes with liners. I love it all.

Watching the movie Aladdin and It could happen to you ๐ŸŽฌ

I watched Aladdin with my mother. I had never watched it haha how bad. I loved it so much. I love the music and just the whole movie. Such a great movie. I can’t wait to watch more Disney movies because I love them so much โœจ. With both of my parents I watched It could happen to you. It’s about a police officer who promises to share his lottery ticket with a waitress in lieu of a tip. This police officer is married. I loved this romantic movie so much. I didn’t find it that clichรฉ like other movies. There was a really great story line and I loved the actors.

Things I did with my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•:

Seeing my best friend and her girlfriend ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’–

I saw my bestie and her girlfriend again on Friday the 13th which was definitely a lucky day. I went by bus and was a bit scared because soon after that we got into a lockdown in The Netherlands. I’m just happy I saw my best friend again after three months ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ญโœจ In these dark and hard times in the world I always feel at most peace by your side. I literally am crying now. I love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond ๐ŸŒœ๐ŸŒ›. It’s rare to find someone who understands you. I’m so blessed to have you in my life forevah. As long as I have you by my side everything will be all right. Thank you and your lovely girlfriend for cooking delicious Indonesian food!!! It was a bit spicy which I can’t eat because I get an upset stomach but it was okay haha. If it was really spicy I would have died lol. Take care you both, see ya soon! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿค—

Beautiful pen pal letters ๐Ÿ’Œ

I love my pen pals so much. I always get such beautiful mail which make my day much better ๐Ÿ˜. There’s nothing more beautiful than receiving a handwritten letter and some nice goodies. I love arts and crafts. Being creative is the best. It inspires me and is so good for my mental health. I’m happy for the letter I got from Agata which came all the way from Poland. I loved it so much. I loved the writing paper. I loved the quotes on that paper which looks like it’s burned. I have never seen that before. Thank you for the rainbow bookmark. I will definitely use it soon. It’s so cute! โ˜๏ธ Thank you Chloe for your mail like always. You are so creative!!!! A real artist. I love the gemini โ™Š card. You knew that I would love it too so much. I love the universe โœจ. Your letter was beautiful. I like the stickers, the drawings and the bookmark. Another one for my collection haha! I also really liked the moon with my name. I’m going to have it in my room. Love you to the moon and back. I’m so thankful for our friendship. I know we will meet soon.

I’m also thankful for the amazing mail I got from Rosie. I’m so happy to be friends with you. I loved everything you sent to me always especially the quotes, the little friendship card and your letter of course. I decorated my room with some of the quotes you have sent me. We are all in this together always. I’m sending you all my love. Thank you lovely Sophia for your beautiful letter. I love the rainbow sticky notes, the stickers and just everything. What I love the most is your cards with quotes on it which you always make. They are so inspiring and beautiful. Keep being you because you are awesome.

I  L O V E  Y O U  A L L ๐Ÿ’–

Other amazing things of March ๐Ÿ’–:

Buying beautiful stationery online ๐Ÿ›’

I bought some beautiful stationery online. I love to buy on Etsy because I support small businesses that way and they have the cutest stuff ever. I bought a floral A5 lined notepad and A6 notepad from Abby Cook Illustration. It looks so beautiful with the flowers ๐Ÿ’. I will use it for writing letters for my pen pals. I also bought cute washi tape with panda design from Petite Pink Boutique. Lastly, I bought an awesome space mystery box from Callaby Crafts. It includes samples of washi tape, three washi tape with universe design, dream notes, stickers of the moon ๐ŸŒœand a pen. I loved it all so much! ๐Ÿ˜ I love the universe so much.

New laptop ๐Ÿ’ป

My daddy finally bought a new laptop because the other one was broken. It’s a Chromebook from the brand Acer. It works so well. You have to install first the apps and then you can use it. The screen is beautiful. It’s better than Windows or Mac because you don’t get any virus. I’m so happy with it. The next time we go to Spain we will bring it with us.

Officially Spring time ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒป

Spring begin the 20th of March ๐ŸŒž. I’m always happy with the beginning of Spring because I love Spring and Summer is closer which is my favourite season ever. However, I hope that we are able to go to the beach this Summer and go to the swimming pool. I need that ๐Ÿ˜ข. Spring is such a lovely season. I love Summer but I hate heatwaves haha. They make me sick really. I love 20 degrees and just enjoy the days in the garden now. I love to see the baby animals and see the flowers blossoming. Nature in Spring is so beautiful. We let the dark Winter ahead and embrace these days with hope and light. We need it so much this time.

International Women’s Day 2020 โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

I always find this such an important day. International Women’s Day is every day not only on March the 8th. However, I find this day an important day to raise awareness. I’m a feminist by heart forever and will always stand up for the same rights between men and women. Right now, I’m reading a book about sexual harrasment and controlling behaviour which breaks my heart because I know that many women have to suffer through this in life. This really has to stop. One day I went to a feminist strike in Spain which was awesome ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘ญ. You can read it in this blog post. This year I made a poem for this day which you can find here.

Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope you are all safe and sound at home. I really do hope better times are coming because we all deserve it so much. What was your favourite thing of my list? What’s your favourite season? Do you like my new stationery? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

November favourites ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿด

Hola lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

I’m happy that my November month turned positive because in the middle of November I felt so depressed, low and anxious in Spain ๐Ÿ˜ข. I know it’s because I associate Spain now with going to the dentist which increase my anxiety. I just don’t want to feel those horrible feelings again as it makes me feel so bad. It’s just the worst. Sometimes I also think maybe the universe wants me to learn me something. I had a bad experience a few years ago with a dentist who said I was childish and was acting like a 15 years old because I was anxious and cried. This dentist in Spain is so lovely and nice so if I get all my wisdom teeth out there maybe that will cover the bad experience I had with that dentist in Holland and will feel less fearful in the future. The universe always give us situations to learn something from them ๐ŸŒŒ. I’m happy to share with you now my favourites of November which includes eating delicious tapas with my friends, shopping time in the Primark, stationery shopping and finishing writing Christmas cards ๐ŸŽ„.

Things I did with my family ๐Ÿ‘ช:

Tapas night with mamita ๐Ÿด

I enjoyed some delicious tapas with my mother ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹. This is a very funny story to be honest. We were in a famous bar in Valladolid to eat some croquetas. My mother heard some guys talking and she thought they were from another country. Suddenly they began to talk to us. One of them was from India and was working in a company in Chicago. The other man was Spanish and had his own company. They were both married. They invited us for some tapas, croquetas and a drink. My mother drank a glass of wine and I had mosto which is grape juice. Then they invited us to a second bar hahah my mother thought wow what?! It was nice to get all free food and drinks. In the second bar we ate some delicious jamรณn serrano. Then something uncomfortable happened for me. We talked about life and jobs and I said I was looking for a job. Then this Spanish man said he could offer me a job in the marketing sector in his own company. I laughed and didn’t say anything. He then said that I don’t have attitude and that isn’t good when you are looking for a job. Well, I’m not going to say anything about my anxiety and why I acted that way ๐Ÿ˜•. My mother asked for his contact details but that’s it. I don’t find it normal that a stranger says that to you. What do you think? I’m also always very careful and don’t trust people that easily. I’m not good in making choices too.

Dinner at Erchus ๐Ÿด

I had a delicious tortilla de patata with bread at Erchus. It’s not that far from us and cheap. My mother ate some delicious churros with chocolate โ˜•. This is typical Spanish and you often eat it during the cold Winter months. I love the chocolate but for a drink I prefer the hot chocolate even though this is the real chocolate drink.

Shopping time in Rio Shopping ๐Ÿ›’

One day we went to Rio Shopping in Valladolid. You have to take the bus to go there. I wasn’t feeling well in the bus twice. The second time was worse because I felt like I couldn’t breath. I know it’s anxiety but I guess it’s also because it’s always so hot everywhere which triggers my anxiety. I’m happy that afterwards we walked home from the city. I needed some fresh air. However, I enjoyed some shopping time in this big mall. I bought a nice book which is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time in Fnac. I heard a lot of good things about this book ๐Ÿ“–. My daddy has that book at home in Dutch. I also went to Primark with my mother and bought some nice things such as fluffy purple socks, frozen socks which I love, stationery set of Harry Potter, black heart panties, and a necklace from Disney which says be yourself which is already broken now. Afterwards, we went to Ikea and enjoyed some delicious hotdogs with fries ๐ŸŸ. I also loved that we could drink as much as we want. I had some lemon drink.

Dinner at El Corte Inglรฉs ๐Ÿด

I had a delicious dinner with my mother in the big shop El Corte Inglรฉs ๐Ÿ˜‹. We always love to eat sandwich ham & cheese with potatoes. My mother drank some tea and I had an ice tea. I also bought a blue striped jeans in Bershka. It’s been some time since I bought some clothes. I also bought some Christmas stickers ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿคถ at Tiger.

Watched the movie To all the boys I’ve loved before ๐Ÿ’˜๐ŸŽฌ

Finally I watched the movie To all the boys I’ve loved before with my mother at home. I want to also buy this book and read it. This movie is about Lara Jean who writes letters to all of her past loves, the letters are meant for her eyes only. Until one day when all the love letters are sent out to her previous loves. Her life is soon thrown into chaos when her foregoing loves confront her one by one. I loved this movie so much! ๐Ÿ˜ It’s a funny and romantic movie. I find the story very funny and the end is also so good. I wish I could have that happy ending too.

Buying stationery ๐Ÿ›๏ธโœ’๏ธ

I bought some amazing stationery with my mother at my favourite shop which is Action in The Netherlands. I bought some calligraphy rose gold pens, some nice stickers with dog and cats and quotes on it and a design paperpad deluxe with glitter which has 26 pages full of colours, quotes and unicorn print ๐Ÿฆ„. I also bought a mystery designpad with all pages covered of the universe, stars, astrology signs and beautiful purple and blue colours. Aaaah it’s so damn beautiful! ๐Ÿ˜โœจ๐ŸŒŒ I can use it to write quotes on it and sent that to my lovely pen pals.

Buying bath products and envelopes at Hema ๐Ÿ›€โค๏ธ

I bought some nice bath products ๐Ÿ›€ at the Hema. I bought hand cream with shea butter and eucalyptus oil and a glitter hair spray for Christmas ๐ŸŽ„โœจ I love to care about my body with great products. They smell so well and I love the design and colours. I also bought some set of envelopes, three with bubble paper and the other 20 are self adhesive which is very useful.

Inspiring talks on the airplane โœจโœˆ๏ธ

I had some good talks on the airplane this month. On the way to Spain I met a nice girl from Uruguay and the way back to Holland I met a guy from Spain. I had such a beautiful connection with him. It makes me sad that he doesn’t talk to me anymore but I’m happy that I had that conversations as sometimes you just need some good talks to get inspired and be more positive in life. We all need some positive words and some kindness. You can read about those talks in this post. I also met my lovely Spanish teacher at the airport in Madrid ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ.

Watching Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 ๐ŸŽถ

I watched Junior Eurovision Song Contest with my mother in The Netherlands. I always loved to watch it because it’s so cute to see kids singing. Spain returned after 13 years again. I’m so proud Melani got the third place with the beautiful song Marte which is about climate change and plastic waste in the ocean ๐ŸŒŠ. I wrote about her song in this post. The Netherlands got the fourth place with a dance song. I wished Spain would have won instead of Poland again. It was fun to watch.

Lovely things I did with my friends ๐Ÿ’–:

Tapas night with my lovely friends in Haarlem

The tapas night with my friends was awesome as always. I ate with my lovely friends at @lacubanitahaarlem. This time we changed from restaurant as we always ate in El Pincho. I love both of these restaurants so much. The tapas were delicious, service was fast and they were friendly and it’s not that expensive ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค—๐Ÿด I loved the albรณndigas with tomato sauce, sweet potatoes with curry, quesadillas, croquettes, tomatoes with mozarella and jamรณn serrano with melon. I also drank a virgen cocktail with coconut syrup and pineapple.

We ate so much all together as we could eat as much as we want because it’s a fixed price. As dessert my friends enjoyed a brownie, velvet cake ๐Ÿฐ and ice cream. I always eat the dame blanche which is vanilla ice cream with warm chocolate sauce and whipped cream ๐Ÿจ. I can never have enough of that as it’s my favourite dessert. We were the last ones in leaving the restaurant hahaha ๐Ÿ˜‚. Time flies when you are having fun. Afterwards, we went to see a bit of a live concert in cafรฉ Stiels.

Thank you so much for this lovely evening my friends ๐Ÿ’–. Whenever I’m with the people I love everything is fine. Thank you for always being there for me. I really needed to spend some time with my good friends as that’s also good for my mental health. It’s so important to be surrounded by people who actually care about you. Spanish vibes always ๐ŸŽ‰ I’m so blessed to have you all in my life. Real friends are the ones who are there for you in good and bad times. I’m happy I found my tribe haha. Friends who love food are the best friends you can ask for ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿด Friends forever ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ‘ฌ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐Ÿ’ƒ We will see each other soon again. Love you all so much ๐Ÿ˜˜ xoxo

Pen pal letters ๐Ÿ’Œ

I got some lovely pen pal letters from pen pals in America. One was handwritten and the other one was typed. I love to receive mail so much as it always make me so happy. These two girls are from the Yoga Girl Community. I hope to meet them one day. I also get a nice letter from Jess. I loved the quotes and the lovely cactus stickers. It was all so cute ๐Ÿ’ž.

Finished writing Christmas cards ๐ŸŽ„

I wrote 32 Christmas cards for my family and friends all over the world. I’m sending 20 with the post. I always love to give and receive Christmas cards. It’s just such a nice tradition. I decorate them with washi tape, stickers and glitter. In some of them I also have a surprise which is a golden or silver star. I like to make them personal. I hope they will like them ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope you all liked it. What was your favourite from my list? What did you enjoy in November? Do you also write Christmas cards? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

July favourites ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ’—

Hola lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

It’s again time for my favourites post! ๐Ÿ˜ I can’t wait to share with you all the amazing things I did in July. It was a great Summer month and I wish to continue to enjoy Summer like I do. I wish Summer would never end as it always makes me so happy. I don’t enjoy heatwaves but I love the sunshine. I’m going to talk about my July favourites which includes eating delicious tapas and other food with my friends and family, going to the cinema after two years not going because of anxiety, my trip to Granada (will maybe make a travel blog post about the trip as well), swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, swimming in the pools here in Valladolid and much more amazing things.

Things I did with my family ๐Ÿ‘ช :

Going to the swimming pool ๐ŸŠ๐ŸŒž

I went 8 times to the swimming pool with my friend and mother. I want to go more times in August. With my friend I went the first time to the outdoor swimming pool as it was raining that day. The rest of the days I went with my friend and my mother to the outdoor swimming pool. There are a lot of outdoor swimming pools here so it’s nice to enjoy that during the hot Summer days because there’s no beach here. I swam a lot and was also reading at the swimming pool the book Everything, Everything and a Dutch psychology magazine. I also enjoyed some delicious ice creams. Swimming is so relaxing and so good for our health. Swimming all Summer long yeahhh!!! ๐Ÿ˜

Wedding pictures ๐Ÿ’’๐Ÿ‘ฐ ๐Ÿคต๐Ÿ’ ๐Ÿ’–

I finally got the pictures of my brother’s wedding from last Summer. My other brother Edward together with his wife Elke (they have a company of wedding photography) made these pictures of the wedding of Rafael and Verรณnica. They had to sort everything out so I finally got them and download them all. Maybe, I will do a seperate blog post about them because I want to share them all together. I will post a few of them below so that you can all have a preview. These pictures are so gorgeous and beautiful ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ‘Œ. It brings me back only good vibes of this unforgettable day.

Granada trip with my mother ๐Ÿ’—๐ŸŒž

I just came back from Granda which is 610 km. from Valladolid and like 7 hours by bus. I love Andalucia, the south of Spain so much. My mother and I went to visit a friend of me and his family who I met during the Many Languages, One World Essay Contest in New York City in 2015. Granada is one of my favourites cities in Spain and of the whole world ๐Ÿ˜. It gives me those hippie vibes. You see people dancing, singing and playing the guitar everywhere. The people are so friendly everywhere. The tapas are so delicious. We ate a lot of them. You just have to order a drink and then you will get a free tapa which is amazing. It’s only in Granada where that happens. It’s also very hot during the day but we chilled in our 4 stars โœจ hotel.

We enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi on the terrace of the hotel. I bought some nice souvenirs and stuff in Alle Hop which is an amazing shop and other hippie shops. We also ate delicious Italian ice creams, a delicious pizza together with a glass of sangria on the terrace of our hotel. You could see the whole city. It was such a beautiful view. The only bad thing of the trip was that I lost my squeeze animal. I got anxious and cried ๐Ÿ˜ข. It just meant a lot to me because my best friend gave it for my birthday. I didn’t actually lost it but it was in my bed and the cleaners of the hotel cleaned the room and the bed so I guess they took it without knowing. I will buy a new one as I guess they won’t find it anymore.

Swimming in The Mediterranean Sea ๐ŸŒŠโ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŠ

During the trip of Granada we also went one day to the beautiful beach La Rรกbita which is on La Costa Tropical ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒด The night before I couldn’t sleep so well because it was warm and felt anxious so took diazepam from my mother. It helped so that I could enjoy the beach day the next day. I already miss this beautiful beach La Rรกbita so much ๐Ÿ˜ญ The water was a bit cold which is normally more warm but I still love it always so much. There’s nothing better than swimming in the ocean and also watching a beautiful sunset on the beach. We also had a delicious meal with the family of my friend in a restaurant. I ate gazpacho which is a cold Spanish soup, croquettes with potatoes and an ice cream. It was all so delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹ .

I always miss the sea and ocean when I leave it no matter where I’m. I’m forever a beach and Summer girl. The ocean is my home and my love for the ocean is infinite. It will never leave me ๐Ÿ’—. Human beings are made of water and salt so basically we are the ocean ourselves. The smell of the salt air, the taste of the salty sea, hearing the waves crashing on the shore, seeing the beautiful ocean and feeling the wind on my skin all creates a sense of peace and calm which can’t beat anything in this world. I’m happy I live in a world which is surrounded by beautiful oceans. The world is beautiful ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ

Birthday of my brother Edward, Noanne and Lisanne ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽ

It was my brother’s birthday on the 14th of July so I sent him a picture of us three which he can hang on the wall. That picture was made on his wedding in The Netherlands which was also a beautiful day to remember forever. My little niece Noanne turned 4 years on the 16th of July so I sent her a cute balloon ๐ŸŽˆ . They loved my gifts very much. I also sent the same unicorn balloon to Lisanne which is a little girl from my choir from a man. She has neuroblastoma and also leucemia now so that hit me really hard. I also wrote them a letter. I find it important to be there for others even though if I’m struggling myself. They liked it all very much which made me happy.

Watching the movie The Lion King with my mother and my good friend ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŽฅ

I went to the cinema ๐ŸŽฌ after two years not going with my motherย and my good friend. I’ve always loved to go to the cinema with my mother and friends. You may ask why didn’t I go for such a long time?! The reason is anxiety. Two years ago when I went for the last time to watch a movie I began to feel anxious and thought that time that I was close to have a panic attack. I got scared and ended up not going anymore which is really sad. Anxiety always takes away everything I love to do in life. It’s horrible and I’m so done with it. Sometimes I have to take little steps to overcome a fear because I just can’t do it all at once like going to the dentist. I’m happy I went to watch The Lion King which is my favourite Disney movie ever yeahhh! ๐Ÿ˜ I even have the words “Hakuna matata” on the wall in my room in The Netherlands. I also had a cover for my mobile phone of it which unfortunately all got stolen.

I loved the movie so much. The animation version is amazing but this version too. It all looks so real and is so beautiful made! Simba is so cute. I cried a lot during the movie ๐Ÿ˜ญ We also enjoyed delicious popcorn. I wish to go to Africa once and see this beautiful wild life with my own eyes. The Lion King teaches me so many lessons like that everyone is afraid of something, that you can learn from your past and that it’s important to face your fears. Even though I worry so much because of anxiety I agree that Hakuna Matata is such an important life philosophy to live by. I hope I will get there one day because life is way too short to worry all day and especially of things which aren’t going to happen. It also teaches us that our lost loved ones will always be a part of us.

I’m happy I went to the movies as it’s a big recovery win ๐Ÿ’ช because I felt anxious once two years ago during a movie doesn’t mean that it will happen again. We can all learn so much from Disney movies. I will never be too old to watch them. I can’t wait to go one day to Disneyland ๐Ÿ’—. Magic is everywhere around us, we just have to find it in ourselves too โœจ

Things I did with my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•:

Drinking a delicious milkshake with my friend ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿจ๐Ÿง

We enjoyed such a delicious milkshake! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿง I drank a chocolate milkshake andย my friendย had a strawberry one. I also once tried a coconut milkshake. I love them all but my fav is chocolate. Everything with chocolate is my favourite evah. I love to eat ice cream ๐Ÿฆ, drink milkshakes and any form of dessert. It’s much better to eat and drink this during the Summer. So refreshing & so delicious mmm! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Eating at the greek restaurant and enjoying a drink on a terrace ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ’•

After a year we ate again in Pita. gr, griegos artesanos in Valladolid. It’s one of my favourites restaurants in Valladolid. I love Greek food so much ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท I wish to go one day! The food is cheap and soooo delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹. Also the service is very good and fast. They always explain what everything is. We ate delicious mezzes with pita bread. My favourite sauce is the yoghurt and the one with feta. We also loved the delicious Greek lemonade. We also ate musakas with salad and more pita bread. As dessert we tried something different this time which was baklavas with nuts and yoghurt. It was so damn delicious. We loved it all so much! We will be back soon again yeah yeah yeah!

After eating a delicious Greek dinner on that Friday night I went to a terrace with my friends. We also got some delicious sweets. I love chuches ๐Ÿฌ. It was pretty cold afterwards. The nights here in Valladolid can be cold and yes even during the Summer ๐Ÿ˜‚โ„๏ธ It was 15 degrees that night brrr.

Eating tapas and delicious ice cream rolls with my friends ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ’•

It was nice to see my lovely friend Iris again after a year together with Maria. We tried for the first time ice cream rolls omggg it’s so delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹ I have always seen this popular ice cream on Instagram and was very curious to try it. Sometimes a hype can be overrated but this was definitely as good as it looks! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ŒMine was with strawberries and as topping white chocolate. My friends had one with strawberries, oreos and white chocolate. I can’t wait to try another one again! Afterwards, we ate some delicious tapas. I love to eat croquettes and a mosto which is grape juice in the popular bar El Corcho. We also loved the solomillo al roquefort in another famous bar called La Tasquita. Spanish food is just da best! ๐Ÿ’— Viva Espaรฑa ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ, oleeee!

Hot Summer night with my friend and mother ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ”ฅ

I enjoyed some delicious Spanish food with my friend Maria. We ate a delicious pincho moruno with potatoes and tortilla at my favourite restaurant called Elany. When we drink a mosto we always get a free tapa which was chorizo this time. I love the owners which are from Romania so much. My family knows them so much and it’s so great to have your fav restaurant 5 min from your home. One time we also got a free flan ๐Ÿฎ. I also love to always give them a tip.

Afterwards, my mamita and I enjoyed a manzanilla tea ๐Ÿต and a mosto at La Plaza Mayor. It was 38 degrees the whole day so it was too hot to be inside. It was nice to be at a terrace during the night as the temperature was cooling down. Global warming is not something fake. It’s so real and I’m experiencing it right now in Spain. It’s never been so hot and so crazy weather during the Summer. We can all do something to save this planet ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ™ One day it will be too late….

Other amazing things of July โค๏ธ:

Finished reading the book Everything, Everything ๐Ÿ“š

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH ๐Ÿ˜. I will post a good review about it soon together with some other books I’ve read. I already talked about this book on my last blog post. I’ve never read a book so fast. I finished it in two weeks whoehoeeee.

Receiving awesome pen pal letters ๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ

I loved the snail mail I got from Vikki, Rosie, Danielle, and my lovely blogging friend Chloe. Thank you all so much. I really love to receive amazing letters especially from such lovely people as you all are. I also loved the post so much from Sophia. I loved the quotes and especially the unicorn writing paper ๐Ÿฆ„ as it’s difficult to find here. I loved the postcard from my best friend from Crete so much too โค๏ธ.

Last but not least, I also loved the post from Barbara so much. She also sent me some lovely presents for my birthday which was the first of June. I loved the Disney paper and bag so much. I especially loved the mermaid vibes passport holder. I always wanted that. The edible unicorn wafers are amazing too and the unicorn holder. Thank you all so much for everything! I’m so grateful to know you all. I love you all so much ๐Ÿ’–

Watched the movie Campeones ๐ŸŽฌ

I watched this movie on the bus trip to Granada. I already wanted to watch this movie for so long. It’s a beautiful Spanish movie. I cried so much ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ญ. It’s about a trainer of basketball who get a punishment of driving too hard because of drinking alcohol. He then has to train a team which all have sindrome of down. I think this Spanish movie is so important. It’s all about love, friendships and inclusion. We all deserve to feel equal and be treated as persons. We all deserve the same opportunities in life no matter what ๐Ÿ™. This movie also won the prize of best Spanish movie 2019. There was also a beautiful sentence said in the movie which was: “You treated us as humans.” “Because you are humans”. I wish there would be more movies like this one because they are so necessary. We are all equal, always remember that.

Thank you all for reading this blog post. What did you do in July? What are your favourites from my list? Do you have any Summer trips planned? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

June favourites ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŽ‰

Hola lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

For I begin, I would like to thank you all so much for all your support on my last blog post. You guys mean the most to me! ๐Ÿ’— I’m so thankful to always have this amazing community to be there for me. I love you all so much ๐Ÿ’•

I was dying the day I wrote this because it was so hot. There was a heatwave in Spain. It was 40 degrees in Valladolid. I was staying inside because I didn’t felt good because of it and because of my period. I can’t wait to go swimming this week when I don’t have my period anymore and feel better. The temperature is going down to 30 degrees which is perfect. I’m going to tell you in this blog post all about my June favourites such as celebrating my birthday with my family and friends, Summer time, the delicious food I’ve eaten and other amazing things.

Things I did with my family ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ :

My birthday celebration ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽ

It was my birthday on the first of June. I turned 26 years young haha. You can read my summary of my 25th year here. I had to cry on my birthday because of having my period and I just felt so emotional. I was feeling like I don’t have my life together and I still feel that way. However, I have to think that we all have our own time in life to do things and make things happen. I also enjoyed my birthday with my mother, the brother and mother of Verรณnica which came to visit us. We ate a delicious chocolate cake and I blew the candles. I hope my wish will come true. I got amazing presents such as much stationery, a beautiful shirt, make up, flower headbands, jewelry and more. I also got a lot of beautiful handwritten cards.

I will show that with you all this month in a haul since I had to wait until I got everything to take pictures. My mother also bought me a lovely purple balloon and decorated our home. In the evening we went to eat dinner all three in my favourite restaurant called Elany. The bad thing was that we went late so there wasn’t much food left. We could enjoy some cheese, salad and chorizo. I was drinking a delicious grape fruit drink. I went home early because I felt bad because of my period. My mother went for a drink with the family of Verรณnica.

Celebrating my birthday with family

Eating delicious food with mamita ๐Ÿฒ

I ate so much delicious food this month. I love to eat outside especially when I’m in Spain as the food is so good and also so healthy. The Mediterranean diet is just the best. I ate twice in the big shopping mall El Corte Inglรฉs. We love to eat a sandwich ham & cheese with potatoes. You get free mayo, ketchup and anything you want. In Holland every sauce cost money. I also ate in a new restaurant called Rodilla which I discovered with mamita. We ate a delicious sandwich together with croquettes which were just โ‚ฌ1, so cheap!!! We also ate one day eggs with potatoes together with jรกmon serrano in my fav restaurant Elany near to my house, another day I ate a delicious tortilla de patata and paella. It’s my favourite Spanish food together with paella.

Delicious Spanish food

Milkshake time ๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿจ๐Ÿง

I LOVE ICE CREAMS, MILKSHAKES AND SMOOTHIES SO MUCH!!! I love to drink this delicious chocolate milkshake with whipped cream so much. Also the waiter is such a lovely man and we always have a good talk with him. He knows us very well. My mother was drinking a tea with ice cubes. We also got free olives which I love very much.

Enjoying sunny days โ˜€๏ธ

I enjoyed some sunny days with my mother on the fake beach here. Here in Valladolid there’s not a real beach just an artificial one with sand. We have a river but it’s dirty to swim there. I was reading the Dutch psychology magazine while my mother was reading another magazine on the bench. It’s nice to enjoy the sunshine while there wasn’t a heatwave. We also enjoyed a nice walk along the river.

Things I did with my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•:

Celebrating my birthday with my friends ๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿ’—

I had such an awesome night celebrating my birthday with my friends at the restaurant Eh Voila ๐Ÿ’•. I made a reservation for the Greek restaurant but when we arrived they said it was closed. It was full of water haha that never happened before. There are so many restaurants in Valladolid so it’s easy to choose another good one. I love the creperie Eh Voila. I had a delicious Italian crepe with champignons, cheese, ham, mozzarella, and tomato. It was like a pizza so delicious. My friends ate also crepes, salad and spaghetti. As dessert I had a delicious ice cream of yoghurt and vanilla. I went here many times and now the decoration and everything is new ๐Ÿ˜โœจ It’s so beautiful.

After eating a delicious dinner we went to drink something on a terrace. We also went dancing at Juanita yeahhh fiesta time! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸŽ‰ It was such a long time ago that we did that as friends group. The only time I felt anxious was when I went to the toilet at Juanita because I felt like I couldn’t go out. I’m always so anxious about being closed up somewhere. I’m so happy with all my lovely friends. I wouldn’t know where I would be without all of them. Thank you for being there for me ALWAYS! I’m also thankful for all the lovely presents I got. They are da best. It’s so nice to have the best friends of the two countries ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Having friends in so many countries is the best thing ever. Thank you for making me so happy. I’m so blessed to know you all. I love you all so much ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ญ

Celebrating my birthday with my lovely friends

Friend visiting Valladolid

I was so happy that my good friend from Granada came to visit me all the way from Madrid for my birthday celebration with my friends. It’s almost already 4 years since we were all in New York City during the Many Languages, One World forum. We all spoke at the United Nations and it was just a once in a life time experience. I met a lot of awesome people during that week. I love MLOW reunions and hope to meet many of this group soon too! I miss you all ๐Ÿ’—

I’m happy to have showed my friend Valladolid together with my mother. We visited the churches San Pablo, La Antigua, the Cathedral, saw the university of Valladolid and La Plaza Mayor. We saw it by night and by daylight ๐Ÿ˜‚ It was 25 degrees so perfect weather for sightseeing ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐ŸŒž We also ate a delicious meal in Bar Pablo which is just 100m from our house. It’s so cheap and the menu is delicious. I ate paella, potatoes with meat, and a delicious flan ๐Ÿฎ with whipping cream. Valladolid is such a beautiful city and I’m so happy to call it my home as well as Haarlem of course ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Two of my fav cities ever. It was a beautiful weekend. I can’t wait to go to the south of Spain again soon! See ya soon mi amigo! Granada here I come oleeee! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒด

Visiting Valladolid with my lovely friend

Birthday of my Spanish friend

We celebrated the birthday of our Spanish friend Sandra in the village of a friend of her. She has a house in a village near to Valladolid. It’s 30 minutes by car. We had a delicious bbq outside in that house with 9 friends of her. We had a nice time and enjoyed it a lot. We talked a lot about sex lol and other subjects ๐Ÿ˜‚ I love to talk about anything. When I feel comfortable with people I can talk about anything. I was happy it was during the evening since it was 40 degrees during the day. At night it was just 20 degrees oufff much better. She loved our present which were two fancy champagne glasses. Sometimes I don’t like to meet with a group of people because it makes me anxious but it was fine. We also ate a delicious chocolate pie ๐Ÿฅง and we played Jenga. They said I’m very good at it and it’s because I played it during my childhood a lot. I’m used to build big towers without letting them falling down hahah. I also loved how you could see the stars shine so brightly because there are no city lights. I’m in love with the universe ๐ŸŒŸโœจ

Other nice things of June:

Summer time ๐Ÿ˜Ž

It’s officially Summer time! ๐ŸŒž I’m so happy my favourite season is back. I survived the heatwave ๐Ÿ”ฅ at the end of the month which was way too hot for me. I love 30 degrees but 40 degrees is really way too hot for me. Even my mother suffered through the heatwave. I hope I can enjoy Summer time much and have fun! It’s the time that I’m mostly the most happy in life. I love to go to the beach, go swimming and travel a lot.

Officially Summer time

San Juan ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I didn’t went to San Juan this year but my mother went and got me some delicious churros ๐Ÿ˜‹. San Juan is an evening at the end of June were we welcome the beginning of the Summer. It’s typical to do it on the beach but here we have a fake beach like I said. There is a big bonfire and there are things to eat and drink. There’s also a lot of music to dance on ๐ŸŽถ. It’s a tradition to write down all the bad things that happened that year and burn it in the fire. You also write some wishes down for the next year which you keep at home. It’s a magical night.

The bonfire of San Juan and churros

Stationery and pen pal letters ๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ๐Ÿ’—

Last but not least, I bought some nice stationery stuff. I bought some nice stickers with hearts, flowers and stars and also some other cute ones. I also received some nice pen pal letters from Chloe (as well as birthday presents such as a beautiful painting of palmtrees she made ๐ŸŒด, cards, notebook, pencil and body masks), a beautiful letter from a new pen pal Vikki, from Jess and from the lovely Sophia (I loved all the goodies from you so much such as the beautiful cards, stickers and geen earrings). I love you all so much. Pen palling is awesome and I’m so happy I have now more and more pen pals to write too! ๐Ÿ˜ Writing letters and receiving letters makes me so happy.

Stationery and beautiful pen pal letters

Thank you all for reading this blog post. What were you favourites of June? What did you like from my list? Are you already enjoying Summer time? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

May favourites ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒž

Hola lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

May was a great month where I spend much time with my family and also with my friends. In this post I’m going to tell you about my favourites in May such as stationery shopping, my early birthday celebration with my friends, celebrating Mother’s Day in The Netherlands, The Netherlands winning Eurovision๐ŸŽ™๏ธand much more. I hope you will all like it.

Things I did with my family ๐Ÿ‘ช:

The Netherlands winning Eurovision Song Contest 2019 ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ ๐ŸŽถ

For me this was the most important event which happened in May. I wrote a whole blog post about it which you can read here. Duncan Laurence represented The Netherlands with the beautiful song Arcade, a story about hope and loss. I’m so happy to have experienced this feeling of seeing my country winning Eurovision with my mother. It’s just such a beautiful feeling full of emotion, happiness and excitement. I will never ever forget this night. The 18th of May will be forever in my mind. He wrote history. After 44 years The Netherlands finally won Eurovision. Now, it’s time for Spain to win too! I can’t wait to see Eurovision live next year.

Thank you Duncan for making me so proud of you, your music and just everything! I love you so much ๐Ÿ’• I already also bought tickets for his concert in Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam in March 2020. He is going to do a tour this year in The Netherlands and in Europe. He will sing in the greatest venue which is The Ziggo Dome next year. I’m so excited to go to his concert with my friend! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽถ

Celebrating my early birthday with my family ๐Ÿ‘ช

I had a great afternoon celebrating my early birthday with my family in May! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ I celebrated it earlier because of going to Spain. We ate delicious apple pie ๐Ÿฐ from the Hema and went to the park. My daddy put whipping cream in the mouth of my niece hahaha it was so funny ๐Ÿ˜‚ I got some nice presents and cards which I didn’t open until my birthday. I’m going to share that with you all in my birthday haul. I love to save the gifts and cards because they mean a lot to me. Especially a handwritten letter means the world because a person takes the time to write you something personal. Thank you all so much! I love my family so much ๐Ÿ’–

Celebrating Mother’s Day ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒท

We celebrated Mother’s Day in The Netherlands ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ with my family (my parents, my brother, his wife and her brother and mother). It was so nice to be all together. I gave my mother a beautiful flower bouquet with different flowers and colours. I love Greetz.nl so much! The service and quality is amazing ๐Ÿ˜. I also gave her a handmade card.

My brother Rafael gave her beautiful yellow roses, Milka chocolate and a card. My other brother Edward gave her also beautiful pink, violet flowers and a card. It was a beautiful surprise to get it when we were eating. The food was so delicious! ๐Ÿ˜‹ We ate meat, salad, potatoes, bread, fruits, ice cream and much more. What I love the most was the delicious Spanish tortilla de patata which the mother of Verรณnica made.

Family time in the Cruquius ๐Ÿ’—

Me, my mother, the brother and mother of Verรณnica went an afternoon to the Cruquius. That’s near to my house. I went with the bike and felt a bit dizzy afterwards because there was some wind. I’m not used to go biking anymore. We enjoyed a delicious lunch. I love bread with kroket which is typical Dutch food! I also loved the heart candies. It was great weather. I went with my bike ๐Ÿšฒ and we also walked. Afterwards, we took the ferry boat to go the Molenplas which is the park near to my house. We also saw the lovely ๐Ÿฎ cows. We had such a nice time together!

Sunny days in the garden ๐ŸŒž

I love to be in my garden in The Netherlands. It’s nice to enjoy the sunshine there with my mother. In Spain we don’t have a home with a garden just an apartment. I just love to have a garden so much ๐Ÿ’• It’s relaxing to enjoy the sunshine and just be present that moment. I love to read there too. I was reading in that moment the poetry book “Moon theory” from Robert M. Drake which is beautiful.

Eating delicious ice cream ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿจ

I ate delicious ice cream with mamita during a day we went to the shopping centre near to my house. I love ice cream with sprinkles. I always ate this ice cream when I was younger and I still do it. It brings me so much good vibes and it is so yummy mmmm! ๐Ÿ˜

Stationery shopping ๐Ÿ›’๐Ÿ›๏ธ

I went to my favourite shop called Action in The Netherlands and bought a lot of nice stationery. I’m so addicted to buy stationery. I love everything and I can’t wait to use it to write beautiful letters to my pen pals. I bought some amazing stickers, sticky notes, pens, washi tape and cards to make. I also loved the awesome quotes and thoughts about astrology and the universe which I bought ๐ŸŒŒโœจ

Trip to Spain ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ

Right now, I’m in Spain since last Tuesday with my mother. It was an early flight which I always hate but we survived it haha. I don’t like flying at 7 o’clock since I didn’t sleep anything that night and felt dead lol. However, I’m always happy to be in Spain. I can’t wait for Summer time to travel with my friends, go surfing ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ, go to the beach ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒž and just have fun. It was really hot last weekend like 34 degrees. Right now, it’s around 20 degrees but there’s some wind so it feels cold. The weather is really crazy. The nights are also cold like 7 degrees. In The Netherlands it’s stormy now. I’m sure Summer time will come soon.

Things I did with my friends ๐Ÿ’•:

Celebrating my early birthday at Hart Beach ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒž

I had such a great time with my friends three weeks ago at my favourite restaurant Hart Beach. I was anxious to go because I didn’t sleep enough because of feeling so excited and so much emotions because the night before was the final of Eurovision. I love this surf ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ restaurant so much. I also went surfing with Hart Beach in the past. I can’t wait to go surfing again. I’m thankful for my lovely friends and the lovely presents they gave me. I love the food and service so much here. Alohaaaa pura vida vibes! ๐Ÿ’—โœŒ๏ธI can’t wait to go back.

I had a children’s menu and it was much food and so good! I loved the chicken nuggets, salad and potatoes. My friends ate another children’s menu with hamburger, some vega food, sweet potatoes and salad. They have such good food to choose from. I also enjoyed a delicious sunset smoothie with papaya, mango, coco ๐Ÿฅฅ, and apple. As dessert we enjoyed a delicious pie and dame blanche which is vanilla ice cream with warm chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It’s my favourite dessert ever ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿจ. I always choose that whenever I go to a restaurant.

It was really cold so unfortunately we couldn’t sit outside. Almost every time I go to the beach in Holland it isn’t that great weather ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ–๏ธ Hopefully, next time better. I really enjoyed spending time with them all and seeing my friends again. Having family and friends is so important in life because they make you happy. I’m so grateful to have all these good people in life who always cheer me up and with who I can have fun with. I love you all SO much! ๐Ÿ˜˜

My besties birthday party ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‚

My besties birthday was on the 21th of May but she celebrated it Friday the 24th of May. I was also anxious to go to this party because sometimes I feel a pressure to drink when I don’t want. I don’t take antidepressants anymore for my anxiety since it didn’t help anymore. I take sometimes a benzo. However, I just don’t want to drink much alcohol anymore. I also feel sometimes anxious in groups of people I don’t know.

I had a great time and was happy that I went. I had some good talks with a nice girl from her class. It felt great to speak up about my bullying experience since I’m not alone in this. I also had a great time talking to her family which I know very well. I only drank a bit of wine ๐Ÿท which is okay and there was delicious food such as nachos with guacamole, bread with aioli and a delicious pie called mon-sou made by her girlfriend ๐ŸŽ‚ It was a pie with cherries ๐Ÿ’, biscuits and whipping cream. I loved it!

Concert of Alfred Garcia ๐ŸŽถ ๐ŸŽธ

There is no better way to celebrate your birthday with a good concert. Last Friday before my birthday I went to the concert of Alfred Garcia with my good Spanish friend ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’• It was awesome! He is such an amazing artist. He is humble, honest and sensitive. He is different than other artists and that’s what I love the most about him. Some may call him strange but I call that being authentic. Being authentic in a world where society constantly tries to change you is such a beautiful thing to be. He is an amazing singer-songwriter.

I love all his songs of the album 1016 and of course I have his album at home. Buying the music is really important for an artist. My favourite songs of him are definitely “Por si te hace falta” where I cried and felt so happy to have my friend by my side, “Londres”, “Wonder”, “Que nos sigan las luces”, “Et vull veure” and “De la tierra hasta marte”. All his songs are beautiful though.

Thank you Alfred for being such an amazing artist ๐Ÿ’—. We met Joe who was the jury in Operaciรณn Triunfo, the talentshow where Alfred was part of. Your concert was amazing. He was also sick that day but your voice was beautiful as always. I’m thankful for your music who always make me feel so many emotions. Thank you for being always so supportive, speaking up about mental illnesses, and making this world a better place to live in ๐ŸŒ. I’m thankful to live in a world where there exists such amazing artists like you. Thank you for everything. I’m sad we couldn’t meet you but hopefully we will meet you soon. Stay the way you are ๐ŸŒŸ I love you loads ๐Ÿ’•.

Another awesome thing of May:

Taking a bath with a Lush bath bomb ๐Ÿ›€

I bought a nice Lush bath bomb online and used it in The Netherlands since we don’t have a bath in Spain. It was the bath bomb called Groovy Kind Of Love full of beautiful colours ๐ŸŒˆ. It’s amazing for a hippie girl like me. I loved the colours in the beginning. However, the colour which lasted was pretty ugly haha some yellow bath ๐Ÿ˜‚. The bath bomb consisted of rose, bergamot and ylang ylang oils. It was really relaxing. I love to take a bath. That’s what self care is for me.

Thank you all for reading this blog post. What were your favourites from my list? What did you enjoy in May? Could you already enjoy Spring time in your country? ๐ŸŒž Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

Reflection on 2018 & happy new year to you all! ๐ŸŽ‰โœจ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’ซ

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

Happy new year to you all! โœจ๐ŸŽ‰ In this post I will talk about my 2018 and will show you how I celebrated New Year’s Eve. I’m glad I don’t have a cold amymore but just tonight I got my period so yeah that also sucks ๐Ÿ˜ญ I’m glad I take medication for the cramps because otherwise I wouldn’t survive it. Besides, I’m also being anxious about my appointment of getting one of my wisdom teeth pulled out this week. I keep postponing the appointment. I know I have to do it but I’m so scared. H e l p. I also don’t want to do it in Holland. Here in Spain it’s much cheaper and the dentist understands my anxiety but I’m still so afraid and I just feel like I can’t cope. If anyone have some more tips to survive it I will be forever grateful ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’• I can always take medication for anxiety if that’s enough to help me cope with it.

IMG_20181228_221316.jpg

We are already in 2019. A year has flown by. As usually I want to reflect on my year with this post and also write some important things for you all. Every year has its ups and downs. Every year consists of good things and bad things which happen to us. The most important thing is how we react to all these things. I know how hard it’s to stay positive in this sometimes dark world. I just keep believing that there are so many good things in the world and that there are indeed so many good people. You just have to find your tribe. I’m so glad I did.

I’m so happy with my blogging community, mental health community, Yoga Girl community and the goddess revolution community. I’m thankful that I joined these communities this year. They made me feel less alone and so much happier. If I’m in Holland I will maybe go to a meet up with some yoga girls. I also really wish that we will continue to all be friends and hopefully one day we will all meet โœจ I know the universe brought us all together for a reason which is to be connected with awesome people, share our struggles and feel supported.

I learned a lot this year. I learn every day from this world. This year I realized that there are truly lovely people who care about you and want you to be happy. I learned that it’s better to have a few good friends than a million of fake friends. The ones who love you will always be there for you no matter what. I learned that true love exists when I saw my brother getting married in August in Spain. I learned that this life is an adventure. Sometimes we win and sometimes we loose. We learn from every experience. I also learned that it’s okay if I’m not where I want to be in life. I still have a long way to go. I will find a career I love and will keep growing. It all takes time, pacience and trust in myself. I have to love myself, believe in myself and know that I can make my dreams come true such as working and living in Spain โœจ

I also went to my first feminist strike in Valladolid, in Spain on International Women’s Day on the 8th of March with my mother. This was such an empowerful event. I never went to a demonstration before. I really wish 2019 will be the year that less women will be suffering from violence. I wish that women and men have the same human rights. Together we are starting a revolution. This is just the beginning. 2019 will be the year where women can be themselves, love themselves and love each other ๐Ÿ’•

This year I also learned that music is the best thing in life ๐ŸŽถ I would be lost without music. I went to so many amazing concerts such as the Operaciรณn Triunfo 2017 concert in Madrid with my friend Maria ๐Ÿ’• Operaciรณn Triunfo makes me so happy and full of life. I also enjoyed the concert of Pablo Alboran, Chenoa, Hombres G and Celtas Cortos with my mother in Valladolid. I also enjoyed so much the concert of Sofia Ellar with my friend Maria. I can’t wait to see her again. It was so lovely to meet Sofia and get a picture with her. She’s the best and I can’t wait to see her singing again ๐Ÿ˜

This year I began to read again a lot which I loved to do so much when I was younger. I will continue reading this new year. I also kept writing and being creative. I hope to create more amazing content on this blog. Writing is amazing. I travelled to Madrid, Granada, Santander and Somo. I discovered Somo which is a beautiful surfing village in the north of Spain. In 2019 I really want to go to a surf camp again ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒž. I didn’t go surfing for more than two years. I miss it so much. It’s also so good for my mental health. The sea is my home and cleans my soul. The beach is my favourite place on this earth. I can’t wait to travel to more amazing places and meet more amazing people.

Maybe for some of you this year was a hard year. Maybe some of you have lost someone close to you. Maybe you just didn’t felt okay and were struggling. I’m here for you. It’s okay to grief. It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to feel sad. Feelings change and emotions change but it all takes time. Try to not be hard on yourself next year. Remember, I’ll will always be there for you ๐Ÿ’• I hope you will invest in self love and self care this new year because that’s the most important thing that matters. I also encourage you all to surround yourself with people who love you and who bring you only good vibes because you deserve that โœจ.

I celebrated my New Year’s Eve in Valladolid, in Spain. I decided to not go out with my friends. I also didn’t go out last year. I used to party every year but I don’t feel in the mood anymore. I have to do what feels good to me. I went to the hairdressers in the afternoon to cut the dead ends, my bangs and they made curls in my hair. I love to look good for myself. I dressed up at home and did my make up. My mother and I went to the house of the mother of the wife of my brother. We celebrated all together New Year’s Eve: Rafael, my mother, Vรฉronica, Vรฉronica’s mother and her brother. We enjoyed eating delicious Spanish food.

We ate cheese, jamon serrano, chorizo, bread and chicken. I didn’t eat the fish because I don’t like fish so much haha ๐Ÿ˜‚ At 12 o’clock we watched the television and ate the 12 grapes. We also had champagne ๐Ÿฅ‚. It’s a tradition in Spain to eat the 12 grapes. They say it brings luck. We watched television where we were hearing beautiful music and we played Spanish card games. I really loved it so much. I love playing games with my family. At 3.30 am my mother and I went home and we stayed in watching some television. We went to bed at 6 am pretty late but doesn’t matter because it’s a special night. I’m glad I didn’t go out because as soon as we were home I got my period haha. On New Year’s Day we just stayed in and chilled. I saw the movie Grease. I just love that movie & the music so much ๐Ÿ˜ I also saw the movie Paper Towns which I love so much from John Green. I already saw this movie with my best friend one day and loved it.

l wish you all an amazing new year full of love, happiness and luck ๐Ÿ€โœจโœŒ๏ธ Stay strong & stay safe. We are all in this together ๐Ÿ’ช I love you all so so so much โค๏ธ. Thank you all for reading. How was your New Year’s Eve? Did you stay at home or did you went to a party? Which are your goals or dreams to achieve in 2019? I would love to know. I will speak to you all soon in my next blog post.
