A to Z of things to do while being in self isolation ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

I have not been doing well at times because of anxiety. I get overwhelmed by all what’s happening in the world. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night sweating and felt also cold. I was so anxious to get sick ๐Ÿ˜ข. I had cramps. It will get over though. I also have my period soon so everything is harder. At least the sun shines brightly this weekend ๐ŸŒž and we can enjoy it in the garden and in the park. I know many bloggers and other people are writing these kinds of posts which I love to read. They all inspire me so much. I thought about writing my own post about it but different than others. One day I wrote a post which was called A to Z of my favourite things in life. I loved to make it as it was much fun. I hope you will like it too and that it inspires you during this though time ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’–.

A – Make art ๐ŸŽจ

It’s the perfect time to get creative, draw, paint and write ๐Ÿ“.

BBaking ๐Ÿฒ and bath time ๐Ÿ›€

I can’t bake well but I would love to learn to do it more. I used to bake some cookies ๐Ÿช with my daddy when I was little and I loved it. I love to take a bath so much. It’s so relaxing and calming. I just bought some amazing Lush bubble bars and bath bombs which I can’t wait to use.

C – Make a collage ๐Ÿ’–

I used to love making collages in journals and for school too. It’s a great time to do this now. Get creative and put your favourite things of your life in it. You could even later use it for your room as decoration.

DDrawing ๐Ÿ–๏ธ and dancing ๐Ÿ’ƒ

I can’t draw very well but I know so many of you can. Take the time to draw something nice. I love to have some good old dance parties in my room too while listening to my fav artist Taylor Swift ๐Ÿ˜. It’s so good for us to move.

EEating ๐Ÿด

Hahah I mean I can’t live without eating some good food ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‹. Now is the perfect time to eat some healthy food and also enjoy some nice chocolate and whatever you would like. I would love to make some delicious fruit smoothies too. I always make them during Summer months.

FFacetime with your friends and family ๐Ÿ‘ช and feel your feelings ๐Ÿ™

It’s important to stay in contact with our loved ones even though we can’t see them. I don’t use Facetime because I have no iPhone but of course Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp videocall or whatever works for you exists too. At least you can see that person and talk to them. It’s a great way to release emotions to. It’s so important to feel our feelings whether that’s happiness, anger, sadness or whatever comes up. Your feelings are valid. Right now we are all suffering and surviving on our way. Find a way to feel your feelings, release them and then let them go.

G Gaming ๐ŸŽฎ

I don’t play at all games but I love Sims. I wish to play it again. I also loved to play Rollercoaster Tycoon, Sonic and Super Mario Bros. I wish to have that at home right now. It’s a great time to do some nice games.

H Horse riding ๐Ÿด and house cleaning ๐Ÿงฝ

This one sounds maybe strange because many people can’t leave the house. In The Netherlands it’s still alowed to go horse riding, walking or being outside in nature if there are not much people around. It’s really nice for the ones who are able to do it. I have never been such a fan of horses but some of them are really beautiful. One day I also rode one little horse haha omggg I was scared. They are so huge! You could also use this time to clean your house. I already cleaned a bit of my room but I have to do it way more and also organize some stuff.

IImagine yourself at a beautiful place ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒด

I always love to daydream and to imagine myself on a beautiful island enjoying the beach, the sunshine and being under a palmtree. I’m forever a hippie and Summer girl ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿฆ„๐Ÿค™. Whenever I imagine myself on a beautiful place I feel calmer and I sometimes use it to be able to sleep better. It makes you happier, more hopeful and just lighter. We need imagination to feel better especially during these though times where the whole world feels scary and uncertain.

J Journalling ๐Ÿ“

Journalling is so nice. I do it sometimes but I wish to do it more. I also would love to begin one day with a bullet journal. I’m just not so consistent like with my blog. Some bullet journals which I have seen online are so beautiful. I love to be that creative one day.

K – To be kind ๐Ÿ˜Š and kissing ๐Ÿ’‹

Being kind is so important especially nowadays. Be kind to yourself and to others. You can write someone a letter, be there for them and help them with anything they need. Also, if you are self-isolated with the people you love it can be possible to kiss that person or otherwise blow some kisses in the air haha.

L Learn something new ๐Ÿ’ญ and listen to some good music ๐ŸŽถ

It’s a great time to learn something new. Maybe learn a new language, learn to play an instrument or try to learn a dance. There are many ways to learn something new with the internet. I would love to learn to play guitar and piano one day. Unfortunately I don’t have them at home. I love to listen to some music. It makes me happier and calmer too. Music is life.

MMovie time ๐ŸŽฌ and meditate ๐Ÿ™

There are SO many amazing, beautiful and inspiring movies to watch. You can use Netflix, Kodi, Disney+โœจor any other channel you use to watch movies. I’m so happy with the Google Chromecast which we got from my brother. I’m watching loads of movies with my mother and also Spanish series. I also love to do meditation. I do it every day now with the meditation sessions of Yoga girl.

N – Paint your nails ๐Ÿ’…

I always love to pain my nails even though I’m not a professional at all haha. I love to paint them in the colours I feel. During the Summer months I often use more bright colours such as blue, violet and purple than during the Winter months. During Christmas I love to use glitter nail polish.

OOffer some help to someone who needs it ๐Ÿ™

Be of service and offer some help to those who need it. Maybe you can help some elderly with doing groceries. Maybe you can call someone who is having a hard time right now. Listen to people and be there for them like you want the same for yourself too. We are all in this together. It’s time to all help each other.

PPainting ๐ŸŽจ, listening to some podcasts ๐Ÿ‘‚ and penpalling ๐Ÿ’Œ

I loved to paint when I was younger. I would love to pick that up someday as well. It’s good to let ourselves have fun and letting our inner child out while painting. I also love to listen to podcasts. The one I listen to is the one of Yoga Girl, my biggest inspiration in life ๐Ÿ˜. You can find her podcasts on Spotify. There are so many good podcasts out there. I also love to penpal as you guys know. Penpalling is writing handwritten letters to friends all over the world while sending them nice crafts, stickers, things you make, sticky notes, washi tape or anything nice.

QQuilting ๐Ÿงถ

I have seen people doing quilting on my social media. It wouldn’t be something for me because I think I wouldn’t be patient enough but it would be a nice hobby to do during this time.

RReading ๐Ÿ“š

Of course reading has to be on this list! I love to read. I’m currently reading a poetry book mental health related. I can’t wait to read more unread books I have at home. I also have more in Spain but unfortunately I’m not there right now. You will see a review soon of some amazing books I’ve read.

SSleeping ๐Ÿ˜ด and watching series ๐Ÿ“บ

Sleeping for me is even more important than eating. If I don’t sleep well I feel more anxious and just generally bad. It’s time to rest now and sleep more. We need it. Also, you can never fail with watching some nice series. My favourite Spanish series are Amar es para siempre, Luimelia and Cuรฉntame cรณmo pasรณ and of course Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl. Now is the time to watch your favourite serie!

TTidying up the Marie Kondo way ๐Ÿ—ƒ๏ธ and drinking a delicious tea ๐Ÿต

Marie Kondo is the famous Japanese cleaning consultant. She knows how to organize stuff at home. It’s beautiful to watch. I have to watch her series and read her book. I also have to take action on it as I’m so lazy to organizing things. I’m so attached to stuff and find it hard to do clothes away. It would be nice to declutter and only have things in my closet which sparks me joy. Also, drinking tea is always a nice way to calm yourself down and just enjoy the moment. My favourite tea is Yogi Tea.

U – Play ukulele ๐ŸŽธ

I wish to be able to play guitar or ukulele. It would be nice to sing along while playing. Make some time for it if you have one at home.

V – Plant some vegetables ๐ŸŒฑ

This weekend it’s going to be a sunny weekend with almost 20 degrees here ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ˜Ž. I really want to start to plant some flowers in my garden. Planting some vegetables would be nice too. Many people are gardening now as it’s the time to do it. It’s nice to be back to the basics like planting a seed and watching it grow.

W Walking ๐Ÿšถ and writing ๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ

I’m happy we are still alowed to go for a walk in nature where there are not many people around. I love to walk in the park with my mother. There is so much space to walk around. There are also beautiful fields of sheeps and cows. Fresh air is so good for our health especially our mental health. We need vitamine D too ๐ŸŒž. I also love of course to write. Writing is the best thing ever. I’m writing a lot for my blog and I also am thinking of joining an essay competition. You have to write about climate change and could win a trip to Barcelona in September. It would be SO amazing! ๐Ÿ˜ I already won in 2015 an essay competition and spoke at the United Nations. These contests make me so happy and inspired. I have to give myself more credits of being a great writer.

X – Watching Xoxo Gossip Girl ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ’‹

Watching Gossip Girl is always an amazing plan! I have watched all seasons but I never get bored of watching them again. One of the best series ever. I love the parties, Serena and Blair, their dresses and just everything. I can’t believe that in 2015 I’ve been to New York City ๐Ÿ—ฝ. It was a dream came true when I won that essay contest. It has always been on my bucketlist.

Y – Do yoga ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ

I’m doing yoga every damn day now and it’s been so beautiful to practice 30 days for this challenge called #30daysofspace by Yoga Girl. The classes are for free. You can find them here. You only have to make a free account. I wish to have money to upgrade my account afterwards. I also practice yoga for free with Adriene on Youtube. Yoga is just so good for our health. My mental health is better when I practice and it’s also good for my back pain.

ZZzzz ๐Ÿ’ค

Take a nap whenever you need it. In Spain this is called siesta time haha ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ˜‚. We need that rest. You don’t have to feel guilty for needing to rest. The world has paused. I never like those people who are rushing through life and who always say they are busy. That’s not enjoying life. Rest is our birth right. That’s mother earth her biggest lesson for us.

Thank you all for reading this fun post. I hope all liked it. What are you doing from my list? What would you like to try? Any more suggestions? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

Reflection on 2018 & happy new year to you all! ๐ŸŽ‰โœจ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’ซ

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

Happy new year to you all! โœจ๐ŸŽ‰ In this post I will talk about my 2018 and will show you how I celebrated New Year’s Eve. I’m glad I don’t have a cold amymore but just tonight I got my period so yeah that also sucks ๐Ÿ˜ญ I’m glad I take medication for the cramps because otherwise I wouldn’t survive it. Besides, I’m also being anxious about my appointment of getting one of my wisdom teeth pulled out this week. I keep postponing the appointment. I know I have to do it but I’m so scared. H e l p. I also don’t want to do it in Holland. Here in Spain it’s much cheaper and the dentist understands my anxiety but I’m still so afraid and I just feel like I can’t cope. If anyone have some more tips to survive it I will be forever grateful ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’• I can always take medication for anxiety if that’s enough to help me cope with it.

IMG_20181228_221316.jpg

We are already in 2019. A year has flown by. As usually I want to reflect on my year with this post and also write some important things for you all. Every year has its ups and downs. Every year consists of good things and bad things which happen to us. The most important thing is how we react to all these things. I know how hard it’s to stay positive in this sometimes dark world. I just keep believing that there are so many good things in the world and that there are indeed so many good people. You just have to find your tribe. I’m so glad I did.

I’m so happy with my blogging community, mental health community, Yoga Girl community and the goddess revolution community. I’m thankful that I joined these communities this year. They made me feel less alone and so much happier. If I’m in Holland I will maybe go to a meet up with some yoga girls. I also really wish that we will continue to all be friends and hopefully one day we will all meet โœจ I know the universe brought us all together for a reason which is to be connected with awesome people, share our struggles and feel supported.

I learned a lot this year. I learn every day from this world. This year I realized that there are truly lovely people who care about you and want you to be happy. I learned that it’s better to have a few good friends than a million of fake friends. The ones who love you will always be there for you no matter what. I learned that true love exists when I saw my brother getting married in August in Spain. I learned that this life is an adventure. Sometimes we win and sometimes we loose. We learn from every experience. I also learned that it’s okay if I’m not where I want to be in life. I still have a long way to go. I will find a career I love and will keep growing. It all takes time, pacience and trust in myself. I have to love myself, believe in myself and know that I can make my dreams come true such as working and living in Spain โœจ

I also went to my first feminist strike in Valladolid, in Spain on International Women’s Day on the 8th of March with my mother. This was such an empowerful event. I never went to a demonstration before. I really wish 2019 will be the year that less women will be suffering from violence. I wish that women and men have the same human rights. Together we are starting a revolution. This is just the beginning. 2019 will be the year where women can be themselves, love themselves and love each other ๐Ÿ’•

This year I also learned that music is the best thing in life ๐ŸŽถ I would be lost without music. I went to so many amazing concerts such as the Operaciรณn Triunfo 2017 concert in Madrid with my friend Maria ๐Ÿ’• Operaciรณn Triunfo makes me so happy and full of life. I also enjoyed the concert of Pablo Alboran, Chenoa, Hombres G and Celtas Cortos with my mother in Valladolid. I also enjoyed so much the concert of Sofia Ellar with my friend Maria. I can’t wait to see her again. It was so lovely to meet Sofia and get a picture with her. She’s the best and I can’t wait to see her singing again ๐Ÿ˜

This year I began to read again a lot which I loved to do so much when I was younger. I will continue reading this new year. I also kept writing and being creative. I hope to create more amazing content on this blog. Writing is amazing. I travelled to Madrid, Granada, Santander and Somo. I discovered Somo which is a beautiful surfing village in the north of Spain. In 2019 I really want to go to a surf camp again ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒž. I didn’t go surfing for more than two years. I miss it so much. It’s also so good for my mental health. The sea is my home and cleans my soul. The beach is my favourite place on this earth. I can’t wait to travel to more amazing places and meet more amazing people.

Maybe for some of you this year was a hard year. Maybe some of you have lost someone close to you. Maybe you just didn’t felt okay and were struggling. I’m here for you. It’s okay to grief. It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to feel sad. Feelings change and emotions change but it all takes time. Try to not be hard on yourself next year. Remember, I’ll will always be there for you ๐Ÿ’• I hope you will invest in self love and self care this new year because that’s the most important thing that matters. I also encourage you all to surround yourself with people who love you and who bring you only good vibes because you deserve that โœจ.

I celebrated my New Year’s Eve in Valladolid, in Spain. I decided to not go out with my friends. I also didn’t go out last year. I used to party every year but I don’t feel in the mood anymore. I have to do what feels good to me. I went to the hairdressers in the afternoon to cut the dead ends, my bangs and they made curls in my hair. I love to look good for myself. I dressed up at home and did my make up. My mother and I went to the house of the mother of the wife of my brother. We celebrated all together New Year’s Eve: Rafael, my mother, Vรฉronica, Vรฉronica’s mother and her brother. We enjoyed eating delicious Spanish food.

We ate cheese, jamon serrano, chorizo, bread and chicken. I didn’t eat the fish because I don’t like fish so much haha ๐Ÿ˜‚ At 12 o’clock we watched the television and ate the 12 grapes. We also had champagne ๐Ÿฅ‚. It’s a tradition in Spain to eat the 12 grapes. They say it brings luck. We watched television where we were hearing beautiful music and we played Spanish card games. I really loved it so much. I love playing games with my family. At 3.30 am my mother and I went home and we stayed in watching some television. We went to bed at 6 am pretty late but doesn’t matter because it’s a special night. I’m glad I didn’t go out because as soon as we were home I got my period haha. On New Year’s Day we just stayed in and chilled. I saw the movie Grease. I just love that movie & the music so much ๐Ÿ˜ I also saw the movie Paper Towns which I love so much from John Green. I already saw this movie with my best friend one day and loved it.

l wish you all an amazing new year full of love, happiness and luck ๐Ÿ€โœจโœŒ๏ธ Stay strong & stay safe. We are all in this together ๐Ÿ’ช I love you all so so so much โค๏ธ. Thank you all for reading. How was your New Year’s Eve? Did you stay at home or did you went to a party? Which are your goals or dreams to achieve in 2019? I would love to know. I will speak to you all soon in my next blog post.

My trip to Granada ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ˜Ž

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

I just want to thank you all for your sweet messages on my last blog post. It feels so good to write about my feelings and thoughts whether they are positive or negative. Let everything go. This blog post will be my travel blog post about Granada where I went last week with my mother. I hope you all are going to like it. I will share what I did, pictures which I made and some food what I’ve eaten. This will be my first travel blog post as I’ve never done one before. My other blog post about Granada will be about all the nice stuff I bought in Granada: shopping haul yeahhh. This is going to be a long blog post so I warn you already.

First day โ€“ Tuesday 24th of July

The first day of my trip was a travel day. From Valladolid to Granada it’s 7 hours by bus and one hour waiting in the bus station of Madrid. It’s 610 km. so far away! Granada is a city in the south of Spain, in Andalucia. The bus trip went well. I enjoyed listening to music, scrolling on social media haha, and I watched a movie in the bus. We had our own screen to watch movies, listen to music, play games and so many more things. I watched the movie Inside Out from Disney Pixar. I really love these movies so much. It was such a beautiful movie which reminds me that in life you have to feel sadness to also enjoy happiness in life. I enjoyed eating bread with tortilla which is typical in Spain and I ate an empanada of chicken. I also took some meds to not be naouseous in the bus.

37721607_10209882522019449_5616010051253698560_o

We took the bus at 12.30 from Valladolid. At 3 o’clock we were at the bus station in Madrid. There we waited for one hour. At 4 o’clock the bus left and we were at 8.30 in the bus station in Granada. My friend Antonio was waiting there for us. He brought us by tram and bus to our hotel. The only thing what was bad in the hotel was that we had one bed for me and my mother. I did the booking on internet via Booking.com and clicked the option two single beds. I told it at the reception but they told us that they only had one room with two single beds and that is was full. It didn’t matter. I made a bed on the ground with quilt and pillows and my mother wanted to sleep there. I slept in the other bed. We slept great without any problems. We could have another bed in the room but it would be โ‚ฌ15 each night so better not.

We arrived at 9.30 in the hotel. Afterwards, we went for dinner at 11.00 o’clock. We ate some delicious tapas in a place which I love a lot. We ate bread with chicken, salad and bread with jamon serrano and melon. We also drank grape juice which is called mosto. I was really so hungry. We also went to a pizzeria and got a slice of pizza and ate it on a bench in the city centre. Afterwards, we went to the hotel and prepared some things for the trip to the beach next day.

38193546_1130262073794647_3674837133002014720_n

Second day โ€“ Wednesday 25th of July

We woke up and got breakfast in the bar Gerado just next to our hotel. In our hotel we didn’t have a restaurant or a bar. We ate bread with jamon serrano and a mosto. Afterwards, we bought a bus card to use during this trip. We walked down the street where there were so many arabic shops with mosaic lamps, mosaic patern, hippie clothes and stuff. I love that street so much. It feels like you are in Marroco. Hippie vibes everywhere yeahhh โคโœŒ Also the owners of these shops aren’t Spanish. I bought some stuff which you will see in my next blog post. It was really hot outside, like 35 degrees which make us walk slowly. We also went to a view point which is called Carvajales. Granada has so many great view points where you can see the beautiful palace La Alhambra. We made some pictures and walked down the streets.

At 4 o’clock it was time to eat. Normally, we eat a bit earlier in Spain. My mother ate a ham and cheese crepe and a tinto de verano which is wine. I drank mosto and ate a menu which consisted of gazpacho andaluz (typical cold Spanish soup), albondigas (meat balls) with vegetables and watermelon. My menu was just โ‚ฌ12.50 and also include the drink and bread. I love eating in Spain because it’s so cheap. My mother also ate from my menu. We enjoyed eating in restaurant Las Cuevas just at the end of the street Calderia Nueva where the hippie shops are.

After finishing eating we went to the hotel to rest, take a siesta and pack our things to go to the beach. At 7 o’clock in the afternoon we left the hotel and went to the bus stop to take the bus to the station and then walked to the house of Antonio. He would bring us to the beach by car. At the bus stop we met a lovely girl from Alicanta who’s name is also Cristina without the h and is 25 years old just like me. She’s working in the mountain Sierra Nevada in Granada and is researching the water there which is really interesting. She brought us with the help of Google Maps to the house of Antonio. I got here Facebook. I love to make friends. It took us one hour by car to go to his appartment in La Rรกbita where the beach is. His parents were already at the beach.

As soon as we got there I wore my bikini to go to the beach. I felt bad during that moment at the beach which I told in my last blog post: Feeling that Iโ€™m not honest I cried and when I woke up the next day, I felt much better than before. I also got tummy pain before so I knew my period was coming soon. It was going to come on Friday. We wanted to swim in the beach but we couldn’t because there were jelly-fishes in the sea. We saw a beautiful sunset on the beach. I didn’t want to get bitten so we just enjoyed the beach at night. At 11 o’clock we went to his appartment and eat all together (Antonio, his parents and my mother). His parents made delicious salad with vegetables, potatoes and chicken and watermelon and melon. The dinner was delicious and afterwards we went to bed. I sleep every night like at 3 o’clock or 4 o’clock because it’s so hot that I can’t sleep.

Third day โ€“ Thursday 26th of July

We woke up and got a delicious breakfast with the mother of Antonio and my mother. Antonio and his father were already at the beach. We drank tea and ate bread with strawberry mermalade and watermelon. I’m so addicted to watermelon. I love it. After breakfeast I wore my bikini from O’Neill which is my favourite bikini and the material is from surfing wetsuits. It’s for surfing too but I prefer to surf with a wetsuit. We swam in the sea and stayed on the beach from 12 o’clock till 2.30 in the afternoon. It was so great to swim in the ocean after one year not going. I only swim in the sea when it’s Summer time. I really missed it so much. I didn’t see any jelly-fishes so it was fine.

DSC00067

After swimming we went to his appartment to change our clothes to go to eat in a restaurant called ELCOLAS near to the beach. Last Summer, we ate here too with his family. I loved the menu because it wasn’t that much food. Sometimes I struggle with eating so much which makes me naouseous. There was a lot of food to choose from. My first plate was gazpacho, second plate was two chicken skewers with salad and potatoes and as dessert I got again watermelon haha. It was all so delicious. We had a great time.

We went to their appartment at 4.30 in the afternoon to rest and take a siesta. This is really typical in Spain. I really enjoy that a lot because it’s also too hot outside during Summer. At 6 o’clock we got up and we went to the beach again. I love to swim in the sea at that time because the water is even warmer than before and it’s not that hot outside. I love the Mediterranean Sea so much. It’s not that cold as the Atlantic Ocean. We stayed at the beach until 8.30 in the afternoon, swam in the sea and took some awesome pictures. We packed all our stuff in their appartment and had dinner. Antonio brought my mother and I again back by car to our hotel in Granada. He went home and we went to our hotel. We stayed in because we were so tired. I also had to shower and unpack our stuff. The beach makes me always so tired. The salt water definitely cleans my soul. It was such a great and happy day at the beach. I enjoyed it a lot! ๐Ÿ˜„๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’•โœŒ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒž

Fourth day โ€“ Friday 27th of July

This was the last day in Granada because on Saturday we would have just a little bit of time left before we went home. We got up and got breakfast in Bar Gerardo. My mother ate bread with mermalade and butter and I ate bread with tomato and oil. We both drank tea. It was delicious and just for โ‚ฌ2.50 each other so both โ‚ฌ5. After breakfast we went to our hotel to pack some stuff and walked at the centre. At 3 o’clock we went to eat again, haha Spanish time. In Spain we always eat like the big meal during that time of the day. In The Netherlands dinner at 6 o’clock is the big meal. In Granada it’s famous to order a drink like mosto, water or wine and get a free tapa. We ate at the restaurant beauty and the beast. My mother drank wine and I drank mosto and we got a free tapa which was bread with ham and potatoes. It was really so delicious. That tapa was free but we ordered also a great salad with apple, chicken, cheese and everything.

We went to our hotel after eating until 7 o’clock. It was also really hot outside to do anything and I just got my period today. When I get my period I feel grumpy, have painfully cramps and I’m so tired and so dizzy so it was important to rest in our hotel room. It made sense that I felt emotional and had cramps the days before. In Spain the shops are open from the morning till 2 o’clock. Then they close and open at 5/6 o’clock until 9/10 o’clock. I really like that. In The Netherlands they are open from the morning till 5 or 6 o’clock in the afternoon. I like to shop at night. In Spain they call it afternoon until 8 o’clock hahah ๐Ÿ˜‚. I even felt a bit asleep and my mother too. Siesta time was great.

We went to the city centre and walked again around the hippie shops and bought more stuff. We walked to the view point of San Nicolรกs. It was still a bit hot outside and the streets in Granada are not flat which takes a lot of energy. I liked that we could ask people and they were always friendly to help us find the way to the view point. We stayed the whole time at the mirador of San Nicolรกs till 9 o’clock and even saw a beautiful sunset. There were so many people so it was sometimes difficult to take a great picture. I have made some awesome pictures. From that point you can see the beautiful palace Alhambra where we went last year and also the mountain Sierra Nevada which has no snow right now. It’s such a beautiful view over the city Granada.

This was my third time in Granada and the first time I already went to this view point. There were many people because they were waiting for the moon eclipse. I didn’t care that much because many times you almost don’t see anything. My friend Antonio texted me and asked where we were. I told him and we met him at the end of the street of hippie shops. We went to a great restaurant which is called Los Manueles. We ordererd water and a mosto and got a free tapa which was meat. We also ordered a salad and a french tortilla with potatoes. It was all so delicious. After dinner we ate a delicious italian ice cream. It’s a typical place in Granada to get ice cream. I had a chocolate ice cream and my mother lemon. At 12 o’clock we said goodbye to my friend and went to our hotel. We packed our stuff that night to be ready for tomorrow and went to bed.

Fifth day โ€“ Saturday 28th of July

So, this was my last day in Granada with my mother. I’m always sad when travelling trips come to end. I’m already thinking of a new trip to the beach Santander and to go to a surf camp yeahhh โค๐Ÿ„. We got up and packed our things. We left the hotel at 12 o’clock in the morning which is always the check out time in hotels. We went to another bar which was close to our hotel. We ate a delicious breakfast. We were happy that we could leave our luggage in the hotel so that we could have time to go shopping without it. It’s much more comfortable. So, we went shopping till 2.30 in the afternoon, just less than two hours after breakfast. I wanted to go to the shop Alle-Hop and Sugar. I love those shops so much. They have a lot of awesome stuff and also stationery stuff which I love.

I’m going to share what I bought in my next blog post. I think you all will like the things I bought. We also went to a bar called Aliatar which was a bit difficult to find because everyone said another direction hahah. We bought bread with tortilla and jamon serrano (Spanish ham) for our trip back by bus to Valladolid. After shopping we went back to the hotel and they called a taxi for us because it’s much easier with all the luggage to go to the bus station of Granada. We had one hour at the station to relax and go to the bathroom. I hate to travel when I’ve my period and also the warm weather isn’t a great combination. That makes me even feel more dizzy and bad. My friend came 10 minutes before our bus was going to leave at 4 o’clock. We said goodbye and left Granada.

I’m really going to miss Andalucia. It’s such a beautiful region of Spain which has almost every day sunshine. I encourage anyone to go to Andalucia and visist Granada. There are more cities like Cordoba and Sevilla which I also want to visit in the future. All these cities have Arabic influences which is just so beautiful. I saw the movie Joy with Jennifer Lawrence in the bus and really enjoyed this movie. She’s one of my favourite actresses ever. We ate in the bus and relaxed. We were at 8.30 in the bus station of Madrid and bought again some empanadas with pisto and meat and some drinks. The bus left at 9.30 and at 00.00 we were in the bus station of Valladolid. We got a taxi to go home because at that time there aren’t busses anymore. Walking isn’t that much but we were really tired. It’s sad always how fast a holiday can go. Time always pass so fast when you are having fun ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sometimes a city can make you feel so happy. Granada makes me so happy. I feel like I belong there. Like I have my roots there. This city was just made for a hippie and beach girl like me โค This was my third time in Granada and damn every time I go I fell even more in love with this beautiful and magical city ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. Thank you Antonio and your family for everything. We had a great time together. I also loved the hotel Cedran. I encourage anyone who is planning to visit Granada to stay in this hotel. It was just โ‚ฌ30 each night which is really cheap. The hotel is in the city centre which is just perfect. The room is nice, has airco and the staff is really friendly and gave some tips of what to visit and free maps of the city. My heart belongs to Andalucia forevah, viva Andalucia olรฉ โœŒ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ˜ See you next Summer! โ™กโ™กโ™ก

I hope this blog post wasn’t borring or way too long haha ๐Ÿ˜‚. My Granada shopping haul will be in another blog post. I also made some polaroids and maybe I’m going to share them in another post. I hope you liked this post. Do you have ever been to Granada in Spain? Do you also like cities with Arabic influences? What do you think of my pictures? I would love to know your opinion in the comment section.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

My daddy came for two weeks to Spain and gave me some presents for my birthday. I got a beautiful black dress from Verรณnica and a beautiful hippie scarf with feather from Verรณnica and my brother Rafael. I really liked it so much. It’s from my favourite shop here in Valladolid called Azabache. I love hippie and boho clothes so much. I also got Yogi Tea from my father. I love all the flavours so much. I got rooibos and women’s tea. I really loved these presents so much. I also got a beautiful Volkswagen hippie car from my father this week. This was not for my birthday but I still wanted to include this here. I have another red one in my home in The Netherlands. I also have a poster of these carsย  and a quilt here in my room. I wish to one day to be able to drive, buy such a car and decorate it. I’m forever a hippie girl and aloha surf vibesย ๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒด

Haha, it’s definitely my birthday month. It’s now really over. Last Friday, on the 15th of June I celebrated my birthday with my Spanish friends. We ate with 7 people in a greek restaurant named Pita. gr, griegos artesanos in Valladolid. This is one of my favourite restaurants here in Valladolid. I love greek food so much. Did anyone of you tried it before? I really love it. The food in this restaurant is cheap and soooo delicious! I ate mezzes with typical greek pita bread. I also drank a delicious greek lemonade. I also ate musakas with potatoes and salad. Musakas is greek meat. It was so good! There’s no better way to celebrate my birthday with all of my friends in a greek restaurant ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Afterwards, we went to the karaoke bar called Tuareg. It’s just 15/20 minutes away from my house. I really love to sing karaoke. We went there with the birthday celebration of Maria too. I enjoyed this night with all of my friends. We sang Rosas from La Oreja De Van Gogh, Lo malo from Aitana and Ana and La cintura from Alvaro Soler. I love these Spanish songs so much. It was really fun to sing and enjoy this night with all of my friends. They also played really good Reggaeton and Spanish music in this bar. I really had such a great night! ๐Ÿ˜„

I got so many amazing presents from my friends which I’m going to show you now. From Guillermo I got instax mini film for my polaroid camera. I love to use my polaroid and take pictures to capture amazing moments in my life. I got balloons from the number 2 and 5 from Maria Martin and Guillermo. I got a bag for the beach with pineapples and flamingos and aย wallet from Maria Esteban. I really loved it so much. It’s really cute and I can’t wait to use it.

I also got two beautiful little cups and plates from my favourite brand Mr. Wonderfull from Juan, Sandra, Maria Martin and Natalia. They have so many amazing stuff. It’s for coffee but I’m going to use it for tea because I don’t drink coffee. I also got from them a cute cat face mask and a petite bunny gloss bar from one of my favourites make up brands which is Sephora. I really loved all of these presents so much. Thank you all so much for these beautiful presents and for this amazing night. I really love my friends so much โค It’s really great to have such amazing friends and who are always there for you.

It’s finally Summer time! I can’t wait to share with you all many Summer related blog posts such as a Summer bucketlist, a beach play list and many more awesome things. My blog is going to have a Summer theme yeahhh ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒŠ. Summer time and the living is easy, right?! I love to enjoy the sunshine and swim in the ocean. Since two weeks it’s really hot in Spain. We had 30 degrees and since a few days ago it’s 35 degrees. In the south of Spain it’s already 40 degrees! The only thing I don’t like about the Summer is that I find it difficult to sleep. Last Sunday, I went with my friend Maria to drink a delicious chocolate milkshake. I love that so much ๐Ÿ‘Œ It’s really my addiction hahah.

Last Tuesday I was enjoying Summer time in the park near to my house with my mother and made some nice pictures. I finally could wear my favourite bikini from the surfbrand O’Neill. It was the first time that I was wearing a bikini again since a year ago. I can’t wait to go swimming in the outside swimming pools here ๐ŸŠ I also can’t wait to go surfing again and to swim in the ocean again. The beach is my home ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒŠย I was made for sunny days.

The answers to the questions

1. What is your favourite movie and why?

I have so many favourite movies that I canโ€™t really choose one. I still have one that I like so much which is โ€œLove Actually.โ€ This is just my favourite Christmas movie ever which has such beautiful love stories in it. I love Hugh Grant and Martine McCutcheon so much <3. I also love the song โ€œChristmas is all around usโ€ so much. I instantly get the Christmas spirit when I watch this movie and always watch it during Christmas.

2. What are some of your pet peeves?

I donโ€™t like people being arrogant or rude to me. Iโ€™m a highly sensitive person and get affected a lot because of that. I also donโ€™t like people who lie to me. I love people which are honest to me even though sometimes it hurts. I prefer to hurt the truth than a million of lies.

3. Do you like to cook?

I canโ€™t cook very well, only the basic stuff such as pasta, soup, an egg, some meat, vegetables hahah ๐Ÿ˜‚ If I cooked very well I would like it a lot more. I donโ€™t like it that much but I love food. Cooking always takes a lot of time. Maybe thatโ€™s why I donโ€™t like it that much too. My mother can cook well and I love it so much.

4. What are some blog posts you like reading?

I love to read travel blog posts because those inspire me to travel to some awesome places. I also love to read mental health and self love related blog posts. Suffering from anxiety myself, I find it very helpful to read those posts and connect with people who understand me and feel the same way as I do. I feel less alone when I read those posts and it makes me feel happy and good about myself. I also like to read lifestyle posts because those can be about anything and are very interesting to read.

5. What is something you are looking forward to this year?

Iโ€™m so looking forward to the wedding of my brother Rafael with his Spanish girlfriend Veronica on the 11th of August in Spain. Happy Easter monday! ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒน

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ˜,

How was your Easter? I hope you all enjoyed it a lot with your family & friends. Today itโ€™s the second day of Easter also called Easter Monday which is celebrated in some regions in Spain such as in the Basque Country or in Catalonia and also in other countries such as in The Netherlands. Iโ€™m still enjoying Easter today ๐Ÿ˜„ I will show you all some lovely pictures from my Easter. I hope you will all enjoy it.

21433064_10209235022152357_4827816454914850061_n

I made this collage for you all๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ‡

We always decorate our home in The Netherlands and now we do it too in Spain. Itโ€™s typical Dutch to decorate your home with bunnies, chickens and painted easter eggs. Itโ€™s also typical to paint Easter eggs. This is such an amazing thing to do with kids and together with your family. This symbolize the Spring time. Here are some pictures from some decorations at home in Spain.

In the Netherlands itโ€™s also typical to have like a Easter bunny who brings presents haha which are of course the parents. My mother bought me a present and I opened it yesterday. It was a beautiful basket with chocolate easter eggs ๐Ÿ’œ So delicious! I also loved the fake flower decoration on the present. In Spain itโ€™s typical to eat during the Holy Week โ€œpostres penitentesโ€ which you can see on the picture below. During the Holy Week there are many processions in Spain by different religious brotherhoods. This sweets represents the brotherhoods. They have all different clothes on just like you can see on the picture. Those sweets are made by cream and chocolate. It was so delicious! ๐Ÿ‘Œ

On the left picture you can see the easter eggs which I got as present from my mother for Easter. On the right in the collage you can see the sweets “postre penitentes” which I ate during this Holy Week. On the right picture you can see a picture of myself. I finally could wear this flower shirt for Spring time ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ’

Yesterday night I also enjoyed Easter with my friend Maria. We went to one of my favourite bars in Valladolid called Bar La Alhambra. We ate some delicious tapas. We ate a pincho moruno with some bread and potatoes and a hamburger. We drank a red mosto. This is a typical Spanish drink which is made by grapes. Itโ€™s like grape juice and itโ€™s very trasty. I enjoy to drink this a lot in the Summer and any time over the year. Itโ€™s such a refreshing drink! I had a great night with my friend.

Tapas night with my friend! Hamburger, pincho moruno and a mosto ๐Ÿ˜„

Today I will continue eating all those delicious sweets haha but not too much. If I eat too much chocolate I will get sick ๐Ÿ˜‚. Thank you all for reading this blog post. I will talk to you all soon. Enjoy Easter if itโ€™s still Easter in your country. If not, Happy Monday! ๐Ÿ’œ

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina
