It’s still Summer in my head lol 🌞. I still need to write some posts about Summer haha. At least then I can still enjoy Summer. Nowadays all I see is rain and a grey sky in Holland. I miss Summer so much 😭. I hate the Winter months. It also makes me feel low and depressed at times. I had so much fun in August. I enjoyed the swimming pool many times, I ate a delicious amount of food in Spain, had fun with my friends and more which you can read below. August is only about food mostly haha I love it.
Things I did with my lovely family 👪:
Going to the swimming pool 🏊
I LOVE swimming so much! 😍💕 I already miss swimming so much. It’s so good for your physical and mental health. I went seven days to the swimming pool. I went some days with my mamita and also some days with my lovely Spanish friend. I also enjoyed eating some snacks, bread and reading some books and magazines on the grass. Those Summer days going to the pool are definitely what make my Summer complete. I wanted to go more days but I couldn’t because of my period and I also had to go to the dentist for my wisdom teeth removal. Swimming makes me feel so happy and relaxing. I can’t wait to swim again soon. I’m a mermaid forever 🧜♀️.
Eating a delicious ice cream 🍧
I love to eat ice creams from Iborra which is the famous ice shop in Valladolid. It’s SO damn delicious. It’s all natural. I always love the flavour white chocolate and mint chocolate chip ice cream. I love it so much!! We also made some nice pictures on the beautiful main square of Valladolid.
Milkshake time 💕
My favourite milkshake is the chocolate one with whipped cream. Aaaah it’s so delicious mmmm!! 😍 I like to eat it on La Plaza Mayor with mamita. She always drinks a camille tea. My mother also ate a delicious apple pie. It was a beautiful Summer night to spend the evening on a terrace outside.
Meeting up with Jairo and his mother 💖
We finally saw the mother of Verónica and Jairo. My brother didn’t come to Spain this Summer because of the pandemic. It was nice to see them and drinking something together. I hope that soon we can all be together again and celebrate life. I find it hard to not be all together again. That makes this time hard because all we want is just to be around our loved ones. That’s what makes life worth living. I hope those times will come soon again 🙏.
Eating a delicious tortilla at Erchus 😍
A typical Spanish food I love is tortilla de patata. It’s an omelete of eggs and potatoes. I also drank a delicious mosto which is grape juice and we got some free chips. I love the new restaurant Erchus so much. It looks pretty cool now with the letters and the new interior.
Delicious dinner at Elany 🍴
Elany is my favourite restaurant ever in Valladolid. I always come there so much. The owners are so sweet. It’s nice to go to places where you know the people 💞. That evening we ate some delicious croquettes with grape juice and we got free tortilla de patata with the Spanish flag 🇪🇸 haha. I always carry those ones home.
Pancakes in El Corte Inglés 🥞
El Corte Inglés has so much delicious food always. We ate delicious pancakes with whipped cream and warm chocolate sauce 🍫💞. My mother had some bread with fish and a delicious glass of red wine. I drank a camille tea. I love the view from the restaurant so much. You can see whole Valladolid. The restaurant is on the last floor which is the sixth floor.
Beautiful sunset in the park Las Moreras 🌇
I love Summer sunsets so much 🌞. I went for a beautiful walk many times with my mother and we saw a beautiful sunset. The sky was stunning. I loved the colours blue, pink and it even looked purple too. We don’t need much in life. I was in awe watching it. We went for a beautiful walk along the river and just enjoyed the view. It’s those little moments in life which counts so much ✨.
Walks in nature 🌲🌳
We spend some more time just enjoying nature and watching the beautiful view from the river. I love it so much. It’s so calming to watch the stillness of the water. Afterwards, we had a delicious dinner at Erchus. I loved the sandwich mixto with potatoes and a mosto. My mother drank a camille tea and got some free churros and olives. It was all delicious like always.
Things I did with my lovely friends 💖:
Having dinner with my lovely friend 💙
I enjoy eating dinner again at Elany. We always eat there. It’s cheap and delicious so why change from place?! I love my favourite restaurants so much. We eat some delicious croquettes with bread and some grape juice. It was so nice to be able to see friends again. I missed you so much amiguita mia. I love you forever. I’m so grateful to have such great people in my life who love me for the way I’m.
Other amazing things of August 💞:
New shirt from Azabache 👕
I love the new shirt I bought from my favourite shop Azabache. I have so many clothes from them. I love those hippie clothes. This white shirt is perfect for beautiful Summer days. I love the motives. It’s too cold now to wear it but maybe I can just wear it at home lol.
Watched The Greatest Showman 🎬
I got this beautiful DVD from my daddy for my birthday 😍. I already saw this movie once and it was amazing to see it again. This movie is SO GOOOOD!!!! It’s just so wonderful made. The songs are amazing 🎶. My favourite song is ”This is me”. It reminds me of the time I got bullied during high school. This is me and I’m enough the way I’m. ”I am brave, I am bruised, I am who I’m meant to be, this is me.”Those lyrics just hit me so much. No sharp words will put me down. I also love Zac Efron in this movie and just all the actors. Hugh Jackman is amazing. It’s just so important to know that we all matter in this world no matter how we look like, which gender we have, race or nationality or whatever. We are meant to be in this world and deserve all the love and happiness. If you want to watch a feel good movie then this one will be perfect for you. I also got emotional just watching this beautiful movie and hearing the songs.
Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope you liked it. Have you also watched The Greatest Showman? Which food of my post would you love to try? Do you also love to go swimming? What did you do in August? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
I’m really behind some blog posts like my favourites and music reviews which I do every month. I don’t want to feel like blogging is chore because otherwise it ain’t no fun anymore. It just makes me frustrated at times. I still want to keep this series going but not if I get frustrated of not writing it one month. It doesn’t matter right?! It’s okay to write it whenever I feel the passion for it. Let’s move on to my favourites of July. It was a beautiful month 💕. It seems SO long time ago when it’s just two months ago. I experienced beautiful things such as finally going to Spain, beach days in The Netherlands, had a lunch date with my bestie, bought a beautiful bikini from the surf brand Billabong and more I will share below.
Things I did with my lovely family 👨👩👦:
Celebrating the birthday of my brother and niece 🎉🎂🎈
Finally after more than a half year I saw my brother and niece 😍🎉. We hadn’t seen them since Christmas time. They live in the South of The Netherlands. It’s almost two hours by car. Due to the pandemic we haven’t seen them which made me feel so sad. Of course we used video call a lot but it’s not the same. My brother’s birthday was on the 14th of July and my niece turned 5 years on the 16th of July. I bought my niece a snow ball to colour in the pages and some glitter stickers which she loves a lot (and me too!! haha!!). I bought my brother some stuff for the kitchen which he needed and Happy Socks 🧦 which he loves a lot. He was very happy with the presents. I missed them so much.
I wish my niece could stay always that little. She’s a lovely princess 👸. Sometimes I wish to be that little again because you see the world with different eyes. I loved how she whispered in my ears if we could go to my room and play. My room is a fair for her 🎡. It’s full of stuff and colours and cute items. Noanne also said that I’m so sweet. My heart melts with her sweet words. She said she would find shells on the beach and think of me. She learns me how to love myself on the moments when I feel I can’t love myself. I love to hear her talking about the universe, the sun 🌞, the moon 🌜, the stars ✨, dinosaurs and everything. They say you learn the most of children which is so true. Their beliefs aren’t shaped. The world is their playground. I truly believe and feel with all that’s happening in the world, we have to go back and find our inner child and play. I don’t mean ignoring the pain and suffering in the world. I just think it’s important to have a balance with that and to always be reminded that there’s still a child in us who would love to be free, wild and making their biggest dreams come true. We need to care about our inner child always. Love yourself just like a child does.
Travelling to Spain ✈️🇪🇸
I’m SO happy to be back in Spain after 7 months. I’ve missed it so much. I’m happy to see my friends again. You can read about my trip with my mother HERE. I never want to go back to The Netherlands. I love Spain so much and really can’t wait to find work here and live here forever 😍. I love the people, the food, the sunshine every day and it’s such a beautiful country where you can enjoy mountains, beaches, desserts, forest and just anything. I was anxious to travel but everything went well. I hope that we can keep coming back because I don’t want again to wait so long to go back to Spain. I was also happy to see my friends from my studies at the station of Madrid. It was such a coincidence. I hope to see you guys soon.
Beach days in The Netherlands 🌊🌞
I finally went to the beach after almost one year. My heart was craving it so much. I missed my happy home, my paradise 💞. The sea heals everything. I’m forever a mermaid 🧜♀️. One day I will live at the ocean and will never have to leave again. We went biking for 18 km. We ate delicious kibbeling, potatoes, salad and a swirl ice cream. It was delicious. Fortunately, it was only raining a bit and we could enjoy the sunshine. Pura vida! We also saw bambi in the dunes. So cute! So blessed with this beautiful world we live in. It’s the little things which mean the most in life. I loved seeing my dear friend from primary school and from my choir at the beach. I missed you so much! It’s been years since we saw each other. I hope to see each other soon again.
Golden hour at the beach 🌅
I’m happy we finally went swimming in the sea. That day we ate a delicious salad at a beach restaurant. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the beach. It’s one of those beautiful moments you wish that last forever. So magical and pure 🥰. My wild heart is full of freedom, love and happiness on the beach. The bad thing was that we biked 🚲 for 30 km long haha . On the way back home the bridge was broken so we had to go through whole Haarlem to go back home. Our home is surrounded by water so we really needed to through another bridge to come home lol. It was a beautiful and unforgettable day.
Enjoying ice creams 🍨😋
I enjoyed some delicious ice creams with my mother. I love the Italian ice creams near to where my brother lives. We always go by bike. I had one with mint chocolate chip ice cream and straciatella. My mother had one with lemon and whipped cream. It was all so delicious!
Watched The Beauty and the Beast, Grease and Up for love 🎬
I watched some nice movies with my mother. I loved The Beauty and the Beast so much. One of my favourite actresses is Emma Watson. She is the best! I cried watching this beautiful movie. I loved it so much. I also loved watching Grease on a Summer night in Holland. Grease is just such a feel good movie and perfect for the Summer. I love the songs so much. They make me SO happy. I watched with my parents Up for love too which is a movie about a man who is very little and falls in love with a woman. They make jokes about him because of his length. It’s a great movie which let us see that everyone deserve the right to live a good life and that people have to be more kind to each other and not judge anyone.
Things I did with my lovely friends 💕:
Lunch date with my bestie along the river in Haarlem 💞
I had such a great day with my bestie in Haarlem. We basically ate and drank all day long hahaha. That’s why we are best friends 😍🍴. We had a delicious lunch at Ted’s place. We loved it so much. My bestie ate a portobello sandwich with hummus and spinach and I had a delicious vegan French toast with fruits, almond milk, cinnamon sugar and maple syrup. I also loved the fruit smoothie so much with acai, strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, banana and more. It was such a aesthetic place to eat. The sun was shining too which was perfect. I’m also happy I finally bought some Summer clothes. As dinner we ate at Freakin Vegan. We loved the burger, wrap and green tea. We ate the whole day vegan and I LOVED IT. I can’t wait to eat more vegan food because it’s better for the environment, good for your health and it’s delicious too 😋.
Beautiful pen pal letters 💌
I got some beautiful letters this month. I got one from Rosie which I loved so much. I loved the goodies too. I loved the quote card. I got a new pen pal friend too. I loved the post from Katherine. I also loved the mail from my lovely friend Chloe. The handmade card from sunshines is so cute and makes me SO happy!! I also love the moon card and the stickers. Thank you for being one of my best friends. I love you all so much.
Sharing circle with Yoga Girl 💖✨
I loved the first sharing circle I joined on Zoom. I was anxious to do it. It was the best thing ever. It’s so special and so sacred. Thank you Rachel and the whole Yoga Girl team for making this happen. I love this community so much. Together with more than 60 people we entered a safe space to share our feelings, thoughts and we hold space for each other. We listened and did meditation all together. It was SO pure, honest and beautiful I cried. Then we met our partner and talked about our struggles with them. One has to speak and the other has to stay silent. You think that’s easy but it isn’t. We are so tend to intreput each other and give each other advice. Rachel said we have the answers in our own heart. We always seek advice from others but we know ourselves the best. We have to listen more in life instead of talking. We need our hearts to hold space for us. I loved my sharing partner from Germany. It was an amazing talk. Thank you so much! I can’t wait to go to a yoga retreat in Aruba 🇦🇼 too. We are all walking each other home. Love you all! 💖
Other amazing things of July 💖:
New bikini from Billabong 👙
I finally got a new bikini!!! I really needed one because the ones I have are too big now. I think it’s because of washing them. I bought one online and thank God it fit perfectly. I love all the surf brands 🏄♀️. Billabong is one of my favourites. I love the new bikini which is green, black together with sunflowers on it. I’m using it a lot this Summer. It costed €40 instead of €70 so big sale. I bought it on Zalando. I love this website.
New dresses and floral shorts 👗
I bought some nice clothes the day I went on a lunch with my bestie in H&M. I bought some nice floral shorts and a red dress. I didn’t had any Summer clothes in The Netherlands so I really needed to have some haha. I also bought a beautiful blue floral dress from Shein. I’m happy with my new clothes.
Virtual concert of Operación Triunfo 🎶
I saw a virtual concert of the Spanish talent show Operación Triunfo. It was from Madrid, WiZink Center. I loved it so much. I was also a virtual public there. They could see us from the stage. I danced a lot, sang and had lots of fun 💃🎤. Of course, I miss going to concerts. I really can’t wait to go to a concert again because it has been more than a year since I last went to one. There’s nothing more precious than being in a concert and seeing your favourite artist live. It gives me so much happiness and makes me feel so alive!!
Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope you liked it. Do you like my new bikini and new clothes? Do you like to eat vegan food? What did you do in July? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
I’m finally back in Spain since last Tuesday. I CRY BECAUSE I MISSED IT SOOOO MUCH 😍🥺🥰. Just writing this makes me cry again and gets me so emotional. I’m behind some other posts but I think I’m not going to write them anymore. I have been feel a bit stressed about my blog lately like I have to blog about this, not miss this and it’s not good. I’m always a perfectionist so when I finally do something after procastinating then I want to do it good. I prefer quality blog posts then just posts for the sake of it. This blog post will be about my journey to Spain, how I feel, things I have on my mind and how things are right now due to this pandemic. I really missed having a good chat with you guys. This post is basically going to be a rant haha 😂. I hope you will like it.
I can’t believe we are already in August like wtf this year is the longest and the shortest ever 😳. How do you feel about it? So much has happened in the world these months because of the pandemic. I really imagine myself cheering the new year last year and we all didn’t know what was about to come. It makes me feel bittersweet though. I don’t know how to feel about a new year coming because I don’t know what we have to except. The best thing is having no expectations and just going with the flow. I read a beautiful quote a few days ago which said that so much can happen in 6 months which is true. So, I hope these last 5 months will turn out fine or better than these last months.
In my life, not that much has happened. I still have no job but right now it’s even more difficult to find one related to what I studied. I studied European Studies which is a broad study with a wide range of subjects such as marketing, languages, international relations and politics. I also really find myself thinking of how I would love to make a living out of writing. I crave it so badly. I also love doing yoga, reading, travelling, singing and surfing so much. I’ve also sometimes dreamt about how amazing it would be to build a surf school related to mental health problems to provide people help and support while enjoying the ocean. I can’t wait to maybe go to the beach and surf this Summer in Spain 🇪🇸🌊🏄♀️. I miss the sea so much. Maybe those dreams are wild but it would be so amazing. I still feel kinda stuck related to thinking about a career. I used to apply to some jobs in Spain but got no answer. I even did an interview for a internship and never heard back. It’s more difficult right now. I also got information to take an exam for a job in the public sector which is mandatory in Spain. I just don’t know and still feel lost after so many years. It’s normal I say to myself. Anxiety also gets in the way. Some people see it as excuse but they have no idea how hard it’s to live with it and being expected to do everyday stuff.
I also entered some writing competitions. I didn’t won the one from Barcelona. At least I tried. Besides, Barcelona is now more at risk so it’s better not to go. I will hear about the poetry contest about mental health next month. I will also maybe join another contest these days which is about my city Haarlem, in The Netherlands. They are looking for a city poet who will write for them and also earn €3000 euro each year and will even have the opportunity to publish a book about poems of Haarlem. I will join and we will see what happens next. I have already a no but you never know what may be the result.
Thanks to the pandemic which is also strange to I’m also grounding myself more and being present with all the things I have. I have been doing yoga and medititation many times in a week 🧘♀️✨. It’s so good. I feel more lost and less calm when I don’t do it. It’s been a such a healing tool and I will stick to it forever. I can’t wait to be able to have a job, save money and go to a yoga retreat in Aruba and finally meet Yoga Girl and the whole community. I love it so much. I don’t have a yoga mat here in Spain but I will use maybe a camping mat until I have one here. I crave connection so much. It’s the best. It reminds me I’m never alone and that I always have people behind me. I did a sharing circle on Zoom with Yoga Girl and more than 60 people joined a few days ago which I will share more about in my July favourites. It was so special and omg I also felt anxious and strange. I had never done it before. In real life it would be even more intense. We did a meditation and then we got a sharing partner. We had to talk about our struggles and the other person listened and didn’t give advice. It’s much more powerful then just always interrumpting a person. Rachel Brathen (Yoga Girl) said that we have our answers in our heart. These sharings are so much more powerful than anything else 💖. I got emotional when I listened and my partner too. I can’t wait to do it many more times.
I’m happy to be back in Spain but also feel mixed feelings. Nothing is normal anymore. Our trip went very well. I was so happy to go but never felt so anxious before a trip. I really didn’t like some of my family members and also a friend of my mother saying we are irresponsible to go to Spain when we are very careful. I couldn’t sleep the night before. I felt so unwell and anxious. I hate to get influenced but others because our trip went super well. We had to wear masks, do social distance and wash our hands often. Nothing new. I’m more used now to wearing a face mask almost all the time because it’s mandatory here in Spain 😷. In Holland it’s only mandatory in public transport and in a regio of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. I changed my mind and think it’s very important to wear it even though it’s a struggle in the heat. We passed the security in 15 min. We drank some tea and ate a croissant and went to the gate. Boarding was nice, the flight was great without any turbulence. There were almost no people. I watched High School Musical 🎶. I loved it. I had never watched it before.
When we landed in the airport of Madrid, they checked our QR-code which is the health paper you have to fill in before you go to Spain. Then you pass a control and there are camera’s above which check your temperature. There are also nurses there in case you are feeling bad. Everything is clean and well organised. We got our suitcases, took a taxi to the station of Madrid and there suddenly I saw my good friend Pedro and his girlfriend. I love to always meet people as a surprise. We ate delicious Spanish food with them and waited for the train. It takes one hour to go to Valladolid by the high speed train. Then we took a taxi home and in the afternoon we were safe and sound at home. I thought something would happen during the trip or I would feel more anxious. I felt more calm because everything went well. I don’t want to listen to scary stories anymore or watch too much news. We are safe and will do anything to stay safe. We can’t stay forever in our homes too.
These days I have been resting in Spain in our home, eating some delicicous tapas and just walking in nature. We also went already to the swimming pool which we love so much 🏊♀️🌞. I have to enjoy it now before I get my period which I hate even more in Summer. There’s no beach here so the pool is the best place to be. I’m just so much more happier here. It’s been so hot here, like 37 degrees. Right now, it’s 30 degrees. I love Summers in Spain so much. I really craved it. This week I will finally see my friends which I missed so much. I also saw a new restaurant with vegan food and poke bowls omggg can’t wait to try it. I will celebrate my birthday with my friends there 🎉🤗. I also saw a new yoga studio. Maybe will go there too. I also will go the hairdresser soon. I can never cut much just the death ends and my bangs because I didn’t went for like a year. I also have to go to the dentist end of month to get rid again of one wisdom teeth 🦷. I’m anxious about that again but maybe a bit less than in January. I told about my experience here. It’s still a struggle so please guys be there for me and send me love. I need it. I just know I have no other choice because I have sometimes strange feelings and pain. I can’t wait to be able to say I faced this 4 times and it went well.
I’m really happy to be here but I also feel sadness in Spain. I see elderly walking and I get emotional thinking of how many people have died here and all over the world. In Spain people are so social and always together. The Netherlands has a individualistic culture. It’s so different. You see less people and people are afraid which is normal. Night life is different too. I don’t miss fiestas so much because what I need in life is more connection and deep talks rather than being drunk all the time. It’s been ages for me and I’m really happy to have gone a different way in drinking alcohol. I don’t need to drink much to have fun. The virus is still here and we have to be careful. They are putting some villages in Valladolid in lockdown again which just means that it isn’t over. I hope you all stay safe this Summer and have fun. We are all in this together 💪🙏.
Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope it wasn’t too boring. I hope you all liked it. What are you up to during this Summer? How are you feeling? How is your physical and mental health? What do you think of what I wrote? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

I really can’t wait to be in Spain again. Until I’m not there Chloe made this for me on the computer. It’s beautiful. I have it in my room now. All the presents were so personalised. Thank you all for reading this blog post. I’m so happy with my lovely friends and family which I all love SO much!! 😍 What’s your favourite thing of my haul? Do you also love personalised gifts? Do you also use a diffuser with essential oil? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
Before I share a birthday haul post which is a bit overdue hahah I want to share this blog post. I’m going to share again a Summer bucket list 🌞. I often write down 100 things in a journal but it isn’t all achievable of course. I will try to only point down the most important things. If you make a long list of things you want to do, you most likely will not do them all. It could maybe overwhelm you instead of having fun and doing them. This Summer I want to be happy and enjoy life while being safe and follow the safety measures of the pandemic. We all have to enjoy our Summer time but we also have to keep aware and know that the Coronavirus isn’t away. We still have to keep distance, wash our hands and be careful 🙏. Let’s get started! 💖
Fly to Spain ✈🇪🇸
I can’t wait to go to Spain because we didn’t went there since Christmas time. I’m mostly always a bit anxious of travelling. I have to admit that I’m now more anxious to go because of all the things you have to do while travelling. You have to wear a mask in the airplane and during the travel day. I’m afraid to get really anxious or get a panic attack 😢. I of course agree with the safety measures. You also have to fill in a health paper to declare that you aren’t sick. They can check your temperature when you arrive at the airport. Travelling is not like we used to know it. I really want to go with my mother to Spain and enjoy our Summer there 🌞😍. I guess it’s okay we are anxious to travel. I just hope we won’t get sick. I also miss Spain so much so it would be so nice to finally be there. We maybe go at the end of July. I will keep you all updated how things will go.
Spend time with family & friends 👪👭
I miss seeing my family so much. I only see my parents and sometimes my brother and his wife from a distance. I miss seeing my almost 5 year old niece. Her birthday is in July just like the birthday of my brother Edward. I can’t wait to see my niece, Edward and Elke again. They hopefully will come to our house this month. We haven’t seen each other since Christmas 😭. I also miss my friends so much. Some friends I didn’t see for a half year, others for a year. I can’t wait to have amazing plans with them in The Netherlands and in Spain 💖. I’m already going on a lunch with my bestie this month and will also go surfing with her 🏄. My other friend from Irak is also coming to my house. I also can’t wait to celebrate my birthday in Spain with my lovely friends and eat delicious tapas all together. Spending time with your loved ones is the best thing you can do. Always be around people who are sunshine for you and not around people who drain you. They aren’t worth it.
Go to the beach 🌊🐚
This Summer as always I want to go to the beach many times 😍🌊. I already went twice to the beach in The Netherlands. It’s one hour away with the bike. I loved it so much even though the water here isn’t clear like in Spain haha. Beach time is what makes me the most happy. I’m a mermaid and beach girl forever. Summer isn’t good if I don’t go to the beach. The sea knows all my secrets and heals my heart. If we go to Spain, then I hope to go to the beach there too. The beach is there 3 hours away by train. It’s so beautiful in Santander. There’s also a little surf village which is called Somo near to Santander. I would love to go there again. I went there with my mother a few years ago.
Go surfing 🏄
I can’t wait to go surfing again! 😍 I always do this on my Summer bucket list but didn’t go surfing since more than 4 years. I miss it so much. My best friend and I were about to go last Summer but it was bad weather so we didn’t go. This Summer we will definitely go surfing together. I can’t wait. Here there’s always wind so it’s a great beach to surf. Maybe I will go surfing too in Somo, in Spain. I would love to go again to a surf camp. You learn so much there. The surfing lifestyle is the best way to live life ✌💖. Enjoying nature, being present and that feeling of being alive when you are out there in the ocean catching a wave. Hearing the waves crashing to the shore and tasting the salt air and sea all creates a sense of peace and freedom. We all need that in life.
Read books 📚
I love reading books and I find the Summer months the best months to read 📖. I love to read outside in our garden. I also love to read in the park or on the beach. I already read some books these months which I have to review soon. This Summer I would love to read at least 3 books if that’s possible. I don’t want to say more because I’m a slow reader and I don’t want to create unnecessary stress. We learn so much from reading. It’s lovely to read on a Summer day with a glass of lemonade or red wine. You drive away into paradise 🌴.
Make smoothies, açai bowls & ice pops 🍦🍍🍓
I love to make fruit smoothies. I used to make them a lot and I really miss making them. I want to make a lot more these Summer. I also would love to make ice pops and açai bowls because I never did that before. I love how it looks like. It must be delicious 😋. I really want to try to make them and share it with you guys. Let me know if you ever tried to make this and which flavour was the most delicious one. All of these are so refreshing for a hot Summer day and also very healthy which is just a win-win haha.
Practice yoga in a studio or outside 🙏
I do yoga almost every damn day now since March and it helps me so much with anxiety. I feel more at home in my body. I enjoy being spiritual too and just feel more in sync with life and mother nature. I do yoga with Yoga Girl, my biggest inspiration. I do it on her website. Every month I pay just €14 and I can do everything on there. The live classes with Yoga Girl are so amazing 💖. I also do full moon 🌕🌜🌛 ceremonies on there. Doing yoga at home is nice but I also would love to do it again in a studio or have a class outside. I only did that twice in my life. Sometimes I find myself being a bit anxious in a room because of feeling judged in a room full of people. I don’t like big groups. Hopefully I can overcome that and take a class in a studio in The Netherlands or in Spain. The connection you feel with others is so beautiful and so important too in a yoga practice. It makes you feel even more at one with this beautiful world we live in.
Share singing covers 🎶
This was the only time I shared a singing cover on my blog. Hopefully I will be able to share more covers here and also on my Instagram 🎤. Sometimes I’m just a bit anxious to share it. I love singing but it always takes a lot of courage to film yourself and share it online because of the negative people out there. We just have to think that if someone says something bad about you, it says more about that person than about you. I will have to keep doing what I love because that makes me the most happy. I hope you guys will enjoy it when I’m ready to share it. I also sometimes thought about making a Youtube channel for singing covers but that makes a bit too anxious to do that now. Maybe in the future, who knows.
Spend time in nature 🌳🌹
Spending time in nature is a must during the warm months. I love it so much. I don’t like Winter so I enjoy being outside in Summer. I love to go to the park, enjoy our garden and go to the beach. I love to walk around and go biking 🚲 with my mother. Nature is so alive right now so we have to enjoy it. Spending time in nature also means soaking up the sunshine which is so important for our health too. The sun gives us energy, vitamin D and makes us happier. We need sun light 🌞. Don’t forget to always wear sunscreen.
Declutter my wardrobe 👗
Basically I have to organize my whole room and sort things out but let’s being with my wardrobe. I have to do it here and in Spain. I just never do it haha because I don’t like it. It’s been ages now and it really needs to get done 🙏. I also have a hard time in letting clothes go. Some I will treasure and others I will have to donate or sell. I want to try the Marie Kondo way. I hope it works out this Summer. If you have some tips, please let me know.
Keep writing poems 📝
I will keep writing poetry in my journal. I hope to be able to share some of my poetry on here. I will also of course keep writing letters to my pen pals and write for my blog. I love to get inspiration from being on the beach or outside in my garden. Whenever I get inspiration ✨ I write it down because otherwise I forget it easily.
Be happy, have fun and make the best of this Summer! 🌞🌈
On top of this list is just trying to make the best of this Summer. Hakuna matata ✌. Being happy and just enjoying Summer time on our own way is the most important thing. It’s important to take pressure away of having the best Summer ever because every Summer has its ups and downs like life. Summer is my favourite season ever. I’m a Summer and beach girl forever. I’m always SO happy when Summer arrives. In Spain the sun shines every day so I can’t wait to go there and have loads of fun.
Thank you all for reading this fun blog post. I hope you will all have an amazing Summer full of responsible adventure times 🌞✌. I hope you will all enjoy it with your family and friends. Make loads of memories. Be safe too. What are you going to this Summer? Are you staying at home or are you going to travel? What of my list are you going to do? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
I didn’t write a blog post for music in February just because I was doing other stuff like yoga, meditation and reading. I also don’t feel well this whole week. I have headaches, feel dizzy and have cramps 😢. I don’t know what it is but hopefully it will pass soon. Also my gum in my lower wisdom teeth hurt. I still need to get rid of three wisdom teeth but I would really love to do that all in Spain. I miss Spain so much my heart aches and wish to hopefully go soon 🇪🇸🙏. Of course there are great dentists everywhere but when I trust someone and had a great experience I don’t like to change that. Everything went so smoothly in January when I got rid of one wisdom teeth. I also wouldn’t like to go to the hospital here because in some cases they don’t do it in private clinics. However, I’m also enjoying the sunshine these days in the garden and my walks in the park with my mother. In this blog post I will share my favourite music from March which includes some amazing Spanish songs and amazing new songs from Demi Lovato and Dua Lipa too. I hope you will enjoy it 🎶.
Sophia Kruithof – Alaska
Sophia Kruithof won The Voice of Holland season 10 in The Netherlands. She sang her own song Alaska in the finals. It’s such a beautiful and touching song. Her voice is so beautiful and so touching. I love her honesty in the way she sings. She is a deserved winner.
OG3NE – Kinda wanna
This is one of their songs of their new album Straight to you. I love this song so much. The home isolation version is so beautiful. It’s also so difficult to sing that way. I wish to go to one of their concerts when all of this is over. I love these girls so much. This Dutch girls group is really something to be so proud of! When they sing together it sounds so good. I love the harmony between their voices so much 😍.
Jeangu Macrooy – Grow (Eurovision – The Netherlands)
”Don’t take it personally Don’t be offended Don’t mind my mood Changing like the weather God knows I try to hold it all together I’m getting older And it ain’t what I thought it would be
One day I’ll find Some peace of mind And then I’ll stop being afraid I won’t make it through the night”
Even though Eurovision will not take place this year in The Netherlands I really loved this song. Again The Netherlands comes with a beautiful song. I didn’t know Jeangu before but he already sang for The Passion here. This song is so beautiful. I love his voice and the gospel at the middle. This song is for all the people suffering from a mental illness or feeling bad in life 🙏. He wants to let everyone know that we have the right to feel whatever emotion we are feeling. He hopes this song makes people feel a little less lonely in their search for happiness. He thinks that openness and honesty about how we really feel will ultimately bring us closer. I so agree with him. Such a beautiful message.
Demi Lovato – I love me
”Oh, why do I compare myself to everyone? And I always got my finger on the self destruct I wonder when I love me is enough (yeah, yeah, yeah)”
The queen is back with a beautiful new song! 👸😍 I’m so happy Demi is back and happy because she deserves that so much. This is such a feel good song and such a beautiful feminist song. I also found myself comparing myself way too much to other people which makes me feel worse. We are all enough and a 10 out of 10 hell yeah. I also love the flashbacks of Camp Rock and Jonas Brothers in the video.
Dua Lipa – Physical
This new song of Dua Lipa is so good! I love the whole vibes and the sound of it. I feels a bit like the 80s with the lights and everything. It’s so catchy.
The Original Rudeboys – Better days
I’m so happy they are back because I love them so much. This is such a great new song of them. It just makes me feel relaxed and chill. I can’t wait for more new music of them.
Rosalía – Dolerme
Rosalía is back with a beautiful Spanish song. Her voice is so beautiful and sounds like an angel especially when she sings those high notes. I love this song! 💕
Sofia Ellar – Tan solo soy real
Tan solo soy real is the live album from Sofia Ellar. She has included the songs which she sang live during her concert in Wizink Center in Madrid. I would love to go again to one of her concerts. She is one of my favourite Spanish artists ever. Her songs are so pure and honest. She is an amazing singer-songwriter. I will share some of my favourite songs of this live album below.
Sofia Ellar – Mundos
This song is so beautiful! 💖 I love it. It’s so good and definitely brings the good vibes of the beginning of the concert. I wish I was there so that I could enjoy it too. The instruments also sounds so amazing.
Sofia Ellar – Versión de cobarde
This song is one of my favourite songs of her because it’s so pure and honest. She had a lovely cat named Dorian who got lost and passed away. She wrote this song for her passed cat. Such a sad story but such an amazing song. You can feel her emotion through this song.
Miriam Rodríguez – No sé quién soy
Wow such an amazing song! Miriam wrote this song about people suffering with Alzheimer. It’s about not knowing who you are and not having memories. It’s so sad but she sings it beautifully. I find it really important that artists sings about this theme because it’s important to raise awareness and help the people who suffer from this horrible illness 😢🙏.
Victoria – Tears getting sober (Eurovision – Bulgaria)
”Strained but my tears are getting sober now And I’ve been here before so Weight that I’m holding on my shoulders I’m gonna let it go”
This song is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! ✨ I love this song. I’m sad that Eurovision is cancelled this year because maybe this song would have won. I agree with people saying that maybe she got inspiration from Billie Elish. I think there’s nothing wrong with that because every artist has their inspirations. This song is so mysterious, wonderful and really makes you feel a lot of emotions. The video is so wonderful made, so simple and yet it captivates you straight away. I love when music does that to you.
Davina Michelle – Beat me (Official song F1 Grand Prix)
I have nothing with Formule 1 races but this year it would be here in The Netherlands. It’s now cancelled of course. The Dutch singer made this song for the races. I really like it. It sounds really good.
Anne – Salté
I love Anne from the newest edition of the Spanish talentshow Operación Triunfo. When they were in the singing acedemy they produced their own songs. This song is so cute!!! I love her voice. I love the pure and honesty of her. This song is really just her essence which I love so much.
Chica Sobresalto – Oxitocina
Chica Sobresalto also known as Maialen was participating in the same talentshow as Anne. She was already an artist before she entered the academy. This song is just WOW amazing!!!! I love it because it sounds a bit pop/rock 🤘. She writes and produce such great songs. She has so much personality in her songs and she is always herself. I love those artists the most who are completely themselves on stage and in life.
Jorge Dexler – Codo con codo
Jorge made this song for what’s happening now in the world with the Coronavirus. He sings about hugs that will come again and that all will be well again. It’s a song with a beautiful message which we all need to hear right now.
Thank you all so much for reading this blog post. Hopefully you listened to some of these songs. I hope you liked them. What was your favourite song? Which is one song you listen to often? What was your favourite song in March? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
I’ve had a hard week last week with all what’s happening in the world right now. The pandemic of the coronavirus hit me hard. I wrote about all of it in this blog post. I felt really bad last week, my anxiety was sky high, cried a lot 😢 but since yesterday I feel a bit better. I feel a bit more hopeful, happier and calmer. Even though we are all suffering right now I find it important to feel all my feelings, the good and the bad ones. It’s okay to feel whatever we are feeling during this though time. I just have that feeling in my heart right now that we all will be well 🙏. I believe in the good things coming. Bad times don’t last forever. That thought makes me feel more hopeful to get through each day. I also am doing a yoga challenge by Yoga Girl. It’s called #30daysofspace. I’m doing yoga and meditation every day 🧘♀️. If anyone of you want to do this too, you can find the free classes on this website http://www.yogagirl.com.
So, I’ve said what I needed to say before I begin with this blog post. I will share in this blog post my favourites of February. Something positive to share is always fine. Some things aren’t relevant anymore but I will still share them. In this blog post I will share about the tickets we bought to go to Spain 🇪🇸, new stationery, presents I got from my friend and the walks I took in the park with my mother.
Things I did with my lovely family 👪:
Bought fly tickets to Spain 🇪🇸✈️
My daddy bought fly tickets for my mother and I to go on the first of April and at the end of June. Unfortunately, we can’t go on the first of April because of the virus 😭. Spain is also on a lockdown and no flights are going. Fortunately, we could changed the tickets to go at the end of May. I hope that will be possible. Otherwise we still have tickets to go at the end of June till September. We do really hope to just enjoy Summer time and that this is all over soon. I love Spain so much. I miss it. My daddy also is going in August. Let’s hope it’s possible. It would be also otherwise a waste of money.
Drinking hot chocolate with pie at the Hema ☕😋
I love the Dutch shop Hema so much. I went there some days with my mother in February. We drank a delicious mint tea, hot chocolate together with a delicious piece of pie. I ate one time a pie of chocolate and my mother had one of apple. It was all SO yummy! 😍
Walks in the park 🌳🌞
I love to live near to a park. I love to take walks in the park. There were some sunny days so we enjoyed it even though it’s still cold. After the walk we loved to drink a hot chocolate and some tea at the restaurant. It’s all closed now because of the virus. I feel grateful to have had these moments. I’m sure they will come again in the future.
Valentine’s Day 💘
I was super sick on Valentine’s Day. I had to vomit many times and had diarrhea. I love that my parents always care so good about me. My mother bought a yellow/orange rose for my daddy and a card. For me she bought a cute stuffed animal and a card. It made this day much better. I really do think that this day is not only a day for couples but also a day to celebrate with your friends and family. It’s about celebrating every form of love 💖.
Stationery shopping at the mall 🛒
I bought a pack of ojo cute animals stickers and emoji stickers. I love to use emojis so much. If I don’t use them I find it boring or sad haha 😂. Furthermore, I bought hangtag stickers with a wildlife and spring theme. They also have some cute quotes on them. Lastly, I bought finelines in the colours of red, blank and blue, universe washi tape, 50 envelopes and glue. You never have enough stationery haha!!
Easter theme stationery 🐰🐣
I also bought some beautiful new stationery with an Easter theme in Action, my favourite shop here. I bought loads of stickers with an Easter and Spring theme. The foam stickers have cute bunnies, chickens and sheeps on them. The Easter sticker sheets include 190 stickers. They are all so colourful. I love them all so much.
Watching The Red Turtle & The Little Mermaid 🐢🧜♀️
I watched some nice movies with my parents. I watched The Red Turtle which is a movie directed by Michael Dudok de Wit. It’s produced by Studio Ghibli. It’s a kinda strange movie but I loved it. It’s beautiful made. Not much is happening in the movie but it’s very calming to watch it. I also watched The Little Mermaid with my mother. It’s really bad I hadn’t watch it before. I need to catch up on many Disney movies! I love this movie so much and I also have a shirt of it. I’m a mermaid forever 🧜♀️🌊. I loved the music in this movie and the underwater world so much. It’s so beautiful.
Things I did with my friends 💕:
Tickets for Eurovision Song Contest 2020 🎟️🎶
I could have not placed this now on my favourites because it’s cancelled but I still was happy about it. I also think that the tickets are valid for next year too. I bought tickets for the family show because the liveshows were much more expensive. I can’t wait to go next year with my friend! Eurovision is one of my favourite events in the year and seeing the Netherlands winning last year was one of my most beautiful days in life. Duncan made history. It has been 44 years since The Netherlands didn’t won.
Presents from my friend 🎁
My dear friend Shame came to my house at the end of January and we also ate some delicious tapas. I still didn’t share the presents I got from her for my birthday last year and Valentine’s Day this year. She got me a beautiful mug with a picture of us this Valentine’s Day. I loved it!!! I also got a beautiful Christmas card, birthday card, foaming shower gel from Rituals and Dove products such as shower oil and body lotion. It smells so well and makes my skin so soft. I also got some violet nail polish which is my fav colour 💅💜. I’m so thankful for these presents and for our friendship. Friends forevah! 😍🙏
Other amazing things of February ✨:
Yoga with Adriene at home 🧘♀️
I’m doing a lot of yoga and meditation right now at home. It helps me so much to stay grounded and more calm. I love Yoga with Adriene. You can find her videos on Youtube. I love the yoga mat I got from my brother and his wife for Sinterklaas last year. I’m using it every day now. I love the videos of calming my anxiety, releasing back pain and shoulder pain. Adriene is so amazing, love her!
Buying stationery online at Etsy 🛍️
So I love to support small businesses because it’s so important. They have much more cute and amazing stuff. They are mostly handmade. I bought beautiful colourful and floral 🌼 print envelopes from the shop AmethystCardsShop from France. They are so beautiful. I’m really happy about them. I also bought beautiful writing paper with animals on it such as panda’s 🐼, cats 🐱 and foxes 🦊. This writing paper is from the shop MikuCatDesigns from Spain. I really like it. It’s too beautiful to use it haha.
New serie Luimelia 🏳️🌈
There’s a new amazing Spanish serie which is called Luimelia. I already love the Spanish serie Amar es para siempre (love is forever). Amelia and Luisita are already being actresses in this serie. They are representing a lesbian couple in the 70s in Spain. I love them so much. They are so beautiful 😍🌈. The spinoff of Luimelia is amazing as it shows their relationship nowadays. The serie also includes the theme of feminism, the lgbt+ community and social media. The episodes only last 10 minutes and there are 6 of them. It’s really nice. I loved it. They already announced a second and third season.
Thank you all for reading this blog post. What was your favourite thing from my list? Do you love my new stationery? Which Disney movie is your favourite? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
I know all we can talk about now in the world is the coronavirus (Covid-19). I wanted to post a blog post about some happy stuff such as some book reviews but I really need to talk about this. I have to describe my feelings and thoughts on it as I always do with important topics such as mental health, feminism, injustice in the world and other topics. I need to let my thoughts go and write it down here or I will feel that I explode 😥. My mind is so full these days. I’m not doing okay.
So, I can’t sleep well anymore. I feel so bad and anxious. I’m crying every day 😢. I don’t know how to cope. I have cramps in my stomach. It’s in times I didn’t felt so bad. This virus only increased my anxiety. How can I feel less anxious when the situation is getting worse every day and people are dying? I feel hopeless. There’s an outbreak of a pandemic in the world right now. The coronavirus feels like the flu but it’s worse because you have fever, cough and it effects your lungs. It all began in China in December. They eat a lot of strange food there such as living animals such as cats, dogs and whatever. My daddy said that the virus comes from bats. I’m of course not a doctor and don’t know much about viruses but all we know is that it’s spreading to every country. If I’m affected I could infect three other people.
I have sometimes health anxiety so I’m also a bit worried to get this virus to be honest. I think it’s normal that we are worried because our health is the most important thing in life. What I’m also worried about is the people who are vulnerable and the elderly people. My father for example has diabetics so it could be dangerous for him. What I don’t like about what’s happening now is that many people especially young people think oh only the old people die or the sick ones. That’s being so EGOISTIC. Writing this I feel tears in my eyes coming because I CARE. I care sometimes way too much about people, this earth and everyone because of being a highly sensitive person and also suffering from anxiety. I care about someone dying being 75 years old of coronavirus even though I don’t know that person. It could be your father, daughter, grandmother. Every one deserves a good life and deserves to live and be treaten well 💖🙏.
Everything is cancelled right now 🚫. In The Netherlands there are no concerts, theater, cinema, sport events happening anymore and all schools are closed. I’m worried about that Eurovision in May will be cancelled too. I hope to go another day. I was so happy when this year began because of this event and good stuff. I’m worried about my friends in Italy being locked down. Spain has now declared an emergency state. I’m worried about my family and friends there. They only can leave the house for meds, work or to go to the supermarket. My mother and I are supposed to go in two weeks but that isn’t possible anymore. Tonight they closed the borders. It makes me sad to not be able to go as we never experienced this. None of us does. It feels lik a movie but it’s happening and it’s real. Scary stuff 😢. I just hope we can enjoy Summer time 🌞 in Spain because otherwise I will get so depressed and anxious. I don’t like Summer in The Netherlands because the sun doesn’t shine that much. I’m just always so happy in Spain. Holy week in Spain is cancelled too. I would have to go to the dentist in Spain too but right now it isn’t an emegerncy as I have no pain.
I’m a highly sensitive person, an empath and suffer from anxiety. This is maybe not the best combination in the midst of the Coronavirus. I care always so much about others and everything that it all affects me emotionally. I suffer more but I also love more. I’m here for all the ones in need. You can always talk to me. We are not alone 💪 We are all in this together.
I just got inspired to write this post too because of Melissa Wells. Maybe everything what’s happening now is a wake up call for the damn world. Care about the elderly. Help people in need. Think of the ones working in the hospital sector and supermarkts. I’m seeing also very good deeds this week such as people donating blood in Spain for the people who need it. Doctors from China are helping Italy and Spain with medical products. The supermarkets are almost empty here and also in the rest of the world. I don’t find that at all funny. Maybe this pandemic virus is a wake up call for the world like that we have to be more compassionate, less egostic and think of others. Don’t buy so much stuff in the supermarkets because then someone else can’t buy toilet paper or hand gel or food. Think more of others than of yourself.
All people think of nowadays is me, myself and I. It’s the wrong way. We are all human and we all long for the same things such as food security, love, safety and being healthy. I also feel that this lack of control and uncertainty is making me more anxious. All governments and society thinks about is money and power. I’m a hippie by heart and just never feel like I approve with the society we are living in. Maybe more people feel that way.
Citizens have to be responsible for their actions too. In Italy and Spain they aren’t allowed to go outside or have fun with friends in some bar. Take these measures seriously. Many young people can’t die from it, but if you do get infected you can make others infected like people who are in a vulnerable state or older people. Your actions could be the death of someone else. Buy responsibly 🛒. My mother wanted to buy paracetamol today and saw everyone being greedy and getting them. That isn’t the way to handle things in life. I saw a picture where Italy has almost no pollution in the air and is clear. You see, we can fight climate change all together 💪🤗. I saw people donating loads of blood in Spain. Good things happen every day. We can all make a change in this world.
I will stay mostly at home now. It’s time to slow down. It’s time to help others and not think of me, myself and I. Let’s be compassionate, solidair and less egoistic. Follow the health instructions. Don’t buy everything you see in the supermarkets because then there will be nothing left for others. We have to be all strong together and help each other. We are all in this together. I’m also anxious right now but I hope this situation will be solved as long as we take all measures seriously. Wash your hands well and focus less on social media. I also have to watch less news as that only increase my anxiety and doesn’t solve anything. We will see what will happening the coming days. Stay safe at home 🏡, read books 📚, blog, watch series and movies 🎬, or listen to podcasts. There are so many nice things to do at home. We don’t always have to be outside to have fun.
It’s time that countries work together with each other to combate this pandemic of Coronavirus. We are all together in this. 2020 is the year that will change our view of the world because of this health crisis. We will make it out stronger and hopefully we will learn to be more responsible for this earth and for all its people 🌍💕.
At the end, everything will be allright. Take care, stay safe and love because that will never be cancelled 💖💋🤗✨I’m here for you all. I love you all so much!
Thank you all for reading this important blog post. I hope it didn’t sound depressing. I just wanted to share the good and the bad like always. How do you feel about the Coronavirus? Are you anxious? How’s it in your country? What do you do to calm yourself down? I really need some support right now. Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
September has flown away already! It’s time for another favourites post of all the nice things I did in September. Even though I feel bad right now and I’m struggling with my mental health I find it important to look back on the positive things that happened each month. There always things to be grateful for even though we may feel bad in that moment 💗🙏. It helps to bring at least a bit of light into the dark times. It rained a lot in The Netherlands last week and in Spain it’s sunny. The transition from Summer to the Winter months also makes me go into a bad mood. I’m just a Summer girl forever and want to live under the palmtrees at the beachforevah 🏖🌊🌞🌴. Yeah, that’s me always day dreaming. Hopefully one day I can make that dream come true. However, in September I enjoyed the fiestas of Valladolid, celebrated both my parents birthdays, bought beautiful stationery and ate some delicious food.
Things I did with my family 👨👩👧:
My daddy’s 70th birthday 🎉🎂🎈
I had a cold on his birthday so we didn’t went to a restaurant in Spain like we planned to go. Instead we went to El Corte Inglés shop and ate a delicious sandwich with ham & cheese 🥪 together with potatoes 🍟. My mother drank wine, my daddy had a beer and I drank some tea haha give me all the tea.
I’m so thankful you are still here daddy. Writing these words out loud makes me feel emotional and make me have tears in my eyes 😢. Life would be so different if you would have died when I was 11 years old. It’s been more than 10 years since you left the hospital. Thank God you left it. I remember you saying that it’s your second home 🏡. I’m happy you aren’t living in your second home anymore. My father had an infection in the pancreas and had to go through to 6 operations together with all the complications he suffered. It was a horrible time. Now he has diabetis. However, we still make jokes about how he lives without many organs 😂 It’s a miracle. Love you so much! 💗
Eating fondue with the family for both my parents birthdays 🍴💗
We celebrated my mother’s birthday and my father’s birthday which was earlier this month together in The Netherlands too 🎉🎂🎈 Two birthdays in one day! I bought this amazing cake delivered and made by @greetz.nl 😍 It turned out so well and it was also so delicious 😋. It’s a pie with whipped cream, chocolate and strawberries. The picture you can see is from the wedding of my brother last year. I also made some beautiful cards for my parents. They loved it so much. I love to be creative yeahhh. It’s always great to be with the family all together celebrating birthdays. The fondue was delicious like always. We also ate vanilla ice cream and fruits. Het was heel gezellig haha like we say in Dutch. Love you all 💗
Bike trip to the Cruquius for my mother’s birthday 🚲
You may think we celebrate all our birthdays in the family 10000 times hahah well it’s true 😂. My daddy always says my birthday is not just one day but a whole month lol. We had fondue on Saturday and Sunday the 22th of September was the official birthday from my mother. On that day it was so sunny and like 24degrees. We went biking to a place where you take a ferry boat to the other side. It’s for free and we always give the volunteers some money. Then they always ring the bell. We drank a delicious mint tea 🍵 in the restaurant. Afterwards, went biking to home as you can also take the bridge to the park and go home. I love living by a great park. Nature is the best natural medicine in the world. It always makes me so happy.
Enjoying a delicious tiramisu 🥧
Last week I enjoyed a delicious tiramisu as dessert with my mother and a friend in the restaurant De Molenplas which is in the park. I loved it! 😍😋 I really like to eat only the desserts haha 😂 It was a delicious tiramisu pie with lemon ice cream, grapes, dragon fruit, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and berries. My mother and the friend ate a delicious apple pie. We also drank a nice mint tea which is one my fav flavours of tea.
Pie and shopping time in the Hema 🥧🛍️
I bought some nice stationery in the Dutch shop The Hema 😍. It’s definitely one of my favourite shops. The stationery is beautiful. I bought some nice stickers with a mermaid theme and aaah I love it so much. It has mermaids 🧜♀️, sea shells andseahorses on it. I also bought washi tape of this theme. I also bought some design paper. It’s beautiful as it contains gold paper with glitter, blue paper with glitter and also other pages with stars and flowers. I can use that for my pen pals and write some nice quotes on it. I really lovebeautiful paper. My mother and I also enjoyed some delicious pie with a cup of tea. I had a chocolate pie and my mother had a strawberry one.
Watched some nice movies with my parents 🎬
I love to watch movies downstairswith my parents especially when it’s getting colder as the living room is very cozy. We watched Boyhood but only until the half of it as I got scared when I saw a man being angry. I don’t want to say some spoilers. I’m a highly sensitive person so I can’t watch scary movies because it makes me anxious. However, later I watched the movie in my room and it was okay. I expected somehow more of the movie as it won some prizes as an Oscar. It’s the story of a 6 year old boy who you see growing up. I loved to see the people growing up in the movie and there were some beautiful quotes at the end. It’s just that the movie takes 3 hours and there isn’t an important plot like in other movies.
“You know how everyone’s always saying seize the moment? I don’t know, I’m kinda thinking it’s the other way around. You know, like the moment seizes us.”
I also watched the movie Brave which is such a lovely animated movie 💗. I really loved the music so much, the story of the princess who don’t want to marry the prince but just want to go wild and do archery 🎯. Then she runs away from the house and some magical things happen. I loved to see Merida being brave as I really do hope to be brave one day too suffering from anxiety. Lastly, I also saw the Spanish documantary Lots of kids, a monkey and a castle. It tells us the story of Julita and I find it really hilarious. She is such a great actress. This documentary also won a lot of prizes and I’m really glad about that. In one point in the documentary they have to leave the castle where they were living so they have to move all their stuff to their home which is way too much 😂. The family is also seraching for the vertebra of Julia’s grandmother in their house. She was killed during the civil war in Spain.
Fun afternoon with my mother at the shopping mall 🛒💗
While I was in Spain I won a prize for a free Subway menu for me and my mother. The people of the FB site said to me that it wasn’t a problem to use it now in September. So, last week we went to Subway and this man sounded grumpy and said like it was too late but he made an expection for us. I always am afraid that people are angry at me but that’s just because I’m sensitive about everything always 😢. I was happy that we still could enjoy the menu. They didn’t told us that we had to go there between two weeks. Anyways, we had a delicious menu with a Sub 30cm with chicken, salad, olives, vegies, tomato and as sauce sweet onion. We really loved itso much 😍 . I had a rainbow cookie and my mother a chocolate one. I drank green ice tea and my mother sparkling water with lemon. It was all so delicious.
I also did some shopping 🛒. My mother bought me beatiful nail polish of the colour light green, blue with glitters and a pink lipgloss. It was all on sale in the Hema. We also went to my favourite shop which is Action and bought some nice stationery. You can never have enough. I bought some beautiful colourful hobby carton, cardboard patters full of hearts, ice creams, donuts and other cute stuff, and a map where I can put all stickers, notes and quotes I get from my lovely pen pals.
Things I did with my lovely friends 💗:
Receiving a beautiful pen pal letter from Chloe ✒️✉️
I always LOVE to receive pen pal letters so much! Receiving post is just one of my happy things in life. I was happy to receive this month beautiful post from Chloe who I love so much. Thank you for your beautiful letter and for all the lovely stickers, notes, postcard and all cute stuff. You are so lovely and I can’t wait to meet you one day. I love your handwriting too so much. I wish mine wasn’t that messy hahah. Thank you for being one of my best friends. I love you so much! 😍💗💕
Fiestas of Valladolid 🎉
At the beginning of September it was fiesta time in Valladolid which is also called Feria y fiestas de la Virgen de San Lorenzo 🎉💃. It’s the Catholic patroness of Valladolid. I love this week so much. I ate delicious tapas like croquetas, bread with solomillo and roquefort, paella, pizza, delicious desserts like pie and ice with hot chocolate and fajitas. I also loved the nutella crêpe with whipped cream we ate after the concert. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS LIKE OMGGGGGG GIVE ME ALL THE CHOCOLATE 😍🍫😋 I liked the cotton candy too which reminded me of my childhood aahhh good vibes. You can all eat these tapas at stands in the whole city. You can also watch the fireworks at night but we didn’t went because it’s always so crowded. I also always love to go to concerts with my friends and my mother 🎶. I went to see Gloria Gaynor (Who sings the popular song I will survive), Ana Belén, and the flamenco kinda pop group Camela. I also wanted to see Maldita Nerea but it was raining that night so I didn’t go out. I always enjoy this week so much.
Other amazing things of September:
Reaching 400 followers 💗
I’m so happy I reached 400 followers on my blog. Each one of you mean so much to me. I know not everyone interacts with me as there are a lot of marketing and dating blogs who love to follow me lol I have no idea why 😂. I’m thankful for all the friendships I made. Thank you for all being there for me in good and worst times. WE WILL ALWAYS BE UNITED TOGETHER GOING THROUGH LIFE UNTIL THE END OF TIMES. I just had to shout this, okay? Okay. I love you all so much.
Contribution in the new book of Ashley L. Peterson 📙
I feel so blessed and happy to have contributed to the book “Making sense of psychiatric diagnosis” of Ashley. She is such an amazing blogger and writer. “It covers the DSM-5 criteria for a variety of mental illnesses, including what’s involved in making a diagnosis, the symptom criteria for each diagnosis, and an explanation of what the various symptoms actually look like. It will explain why a person’s diagnoses may change over time, and discuss some of the weaknesses in this kind of diagnostic system.” I wrote about how it is to live with generalised anxiety disorder. I’m sure you book will help a lot of people 💗. Keep being you!
Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope you all liked my favourites of this month. What did you do in September? What are your favourites from my post? Do you like the movies I have watched? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
It’s again time for my favourites post! 😍 I can’t wait to share with you all the amazing things I did in July. It was a great Summer month and I wish to continue to enjoy Summer like I do. I wish Summer would never end as it always makes me so happy. I don’t enjoy heatwaves but I love the sunshine. I’m going to talk about my July favourites which includes eating delicious tapas and other food with my friends and family, going to the cinema after two years not going because of anxiety, my trip to Granada (will maybe make a travel blog post about the trip as well), swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, swimming in the pools here in Valladolid and much more amazing things.
Things I did with my family 👪 :
Going to the swimming pool 🏊🌞
I went 8 times to the swimming pool with my friend and mother. I want to go more times in August. With my friend I went the first time to the outdoor swimming pool as it was raining that day. The rest of the days I went with my friend and my mother to the outdoor swimming pool. There are a lot of outdoor swimming pools here so it’s nice to enjoy that during the hot Summer days because there’s no beach here. I swam a lot and was also reading at the swimming pool the book Everything, Everything and a Dutch psychology magazine. I also enjoyed some delicious ice creams. Swimming is so relaxing and so good for our health. Swimming all Summer long yeahhh!!! 😍
Wedding pictures 💒👰 🤵💍 💖
I finally got the pictures of my brother’s wedding from last Summer. My other brother Edward together with his wife Elke (they have a company of wedding photography) made these pictures of the wedding of Rafael and Verónica. They had to sort everything out so I finally got them and download them all. Maybe, I will do a seperate blog post about them because I want to share them all together. I will post a few of them below so that you can all have a preview. These pictures are so gorgeous and beautiful 💗👌. It brings me back only good vibes of this unforgettable day.
Granada trip with my mother 💗🌞
I just came back from Granda which is 610 km. from Valladolid and like 7 hours by bus. I love Andalucia, the south of Spain so much. My mother and I went to visit a friend of me and his family who I met during the Many Languages, One World Essay Contest in New York City in 2015. Granada is one of my favourites cities in Spain and of the whole world 😍. It gives me those hippie vibes. You see people dancing, singing and playing the guitar everywhere. The people are so friendly everywhere. The tapas are so delicious. We ate a lot of them. You just have to order a drink and then you will get a free tapa which is amazing. It’s only in Granada where that happens. It’s also very hot during the day but we chilled in our 4 stars ✨ hotel.
We enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi on the terrace of the hotel. I bought some nice souvenirs and stuff in Alle Hop which is an amazing shop and other hippie shops. We also ate delicious Italian ice creams, a delicious pizza together with a glass of sangria on the terrace of our hotel. You could see the whole city. It was such a beautiful view. The only bad thing of the trip was that I lost my squeeze animal. I got anxious and cried 😢. It just meant a lot to me because my best friend gave it for my birthday. I didn’t actually lost it but it was in my bed and the cleaners of the hotel cleaned the room and the bed so I guess they took it without knowing. I will buy a new one as I guess they won’t find it anymore.
Swimming in The Mediterranean Sea 🌊☀️🐟🐠🏊
During the trip of Granada we also went one day to the beautiful beach La Rábita which is on La Costa Tropical 😍🌞🌊🌴 The night before I couldn’t sleep so well because it was warm and felt anxious so took diazepam from my mother. It helped so that I could enjoy the beach day the next day. I already miss this beautiful beach La Rábita so much 😭 The water was a bit cold which is normally more warm but I still love it always so much. There’s nothing better than swimming in the ocean and also watching a beautiful sunset on the beach. We also had a delicious meal with the family of my friend in a restaurant. I ate gazpacho which is a cold Spanish soup, croquettes with potatoes and an ice cream. It was all so delicious 😋 .
I always miss the sea and ocean when I leave it no matter where I’m. I’m forever a beach and Summer girl. The ocean is my home and my love for the ocean is infinite. It will never leave me 💗. Human beings are made of water and salt so basically we are the ocean ourselves. The smell of the salt air, the taste of the salty sea, hearing the waves crashing on the shore, seeing the beautiful ocean and feeling the wind on my skin all creates a sense of peace and calm which can’t beat anything in this world. I’m happy I live in a world which is surrounded by beautiful oceans. The world is beautiful 🌍🌊🌊
Birthday of my brother Edward, Noanne and Lisanne 🎂🎉🎈🎁
It was my brother’s birthday on the 14th of July so I sent him a picture of us three which he can hang on the wall. That picture was made on his wedding in The Netherlands which was also a beautiful day to remember forever. My little niece Noanne turned 4 years on the 16th of July so I sent her a cute balloon 🎈 . They loved my gifts very much. I also sent the same unicorn balloon to Lisanne which is a little girl from my choir from a man. She has neuroblastoma and also leucemia now so that hit me really hard. I also wrote them a letter. I find it important to be there for others even though if I’m struggling myself. They liked it all very much which made me happy.
Watching the movie The Lion King with my mother and my good friend 🦁🎥
I went to the cinema 🎬 after two years not going with my mother and my good friend. I’ve always loved to go to the cinema with my mother and friends. You may ask why didn’t I go for such a long time?! The reason is anxiety. Two years ago when I went for the last time to watch a movie I began to feel anxious and thought that time that I was close to have a panic attack. I got scared and ended up not going anymore which is really sad. Anxiety always takes away everything I love to do in life. It’s horrible and I’m so done with it. Sometimes I have to take little steps to overcome a fear because I just can’t do it all at once like going to the dentist. I’m happy I went to watch The Lion King which is my favourite Disney movie ever yeahhh! 😍 I even have the words “Hakunamatata” on the wall in my room in The Netherlands. I also had a cover for my mobile phone of it which unfortunately all got stolen.
I loved the movie so much. The animation version is amazing but this version too. It all looks so real and is so beautiful made! Simba is so cute. I cried a lot during the movie 😭 We also enjoyed delicious popcorn. I wish to go to Africa once and see this beautiful wild life with my own eyes. The Lion King teaches me so many lessons like that everyone is afraid of something, that you can learn from your past and that it’s important to face your fears. Even though I worry so much because of anxiety I agree that Hakuna Matata is such an important life philosophy to live by. I hope I will get there one day because life is way too short to worry all day and especially of things which aren’t going to happen. It also teaches us that our lost loved ones will always be a part of us.
I’m happy I went to the movies as it’s a big recovery win 💪 because I felt anxious once two years ago during a movie doesn’t mean that it will happen again. We can all learn so much from Disney movies. I will never be too old to watch them. I can’t wait to go one day to Disneyland 💗. Magic is everywhere around us, we just have to find it in ourselves too ✨
Things I did with my lovely friends 💕:
Drinking a delicious milkshake with my friend 🍦🍨🍧
We enjoyed such a delicious milkshake! 😍🍧 I drank a chocolate milkshake and my friend had a strawberry one. I also once tried a coconut milkshake. I love them all but my fav is chocolate. Everything with chocolate is my favourite evah. I love to eat ice cream 🍦, drink milkshakes and any form of dessert. It’s much better to eat and drink this during the Summer. So refreshing & so delicious mmm! 😋
Eating at the greek restaurant and enjoying a drink on a terrace 🍴💕
After a year we ate again in Pita. gr, griegos artesanos in Valladolid. It’s one of my favourites restaurants in Valladolid. I love Greek food so much 😍🇬🇷 I wish to go one day! The food is cheap and soooo delicious 😋. Also the service is very good and fast. They always explain what everything is. We ate delicious mezzes with pita bread. My favourite sauce is the yoghurt and the one with feta. We also loved the delicious Greek lemonade. We also ate musakas with salad and more pita bread. As dessert we tried something different this time which was baklavas with nuts and yoghurt. It was so damn delicious. We loved it all so much! We will be back soon again yeah yeah yeah!
After eating a delicious Greek dinner on that Friday night I went to a terrace with my friends. We also got some delicious sweets. I love chuches 🍬. It was pretty cold afterwards. The nights here in Valladolid can be cold and yes even during the Summer 😂❄️ It was 15 degrees that night brrr.
Eating tapas and delicious ice cream rolls with my friends 🍦💕
It was nice to see my lovely friend Iris again after a year together with Maria. We tried for the first time ice cream rolls omggg it’s so delicious 😋 I have always seen this popular ice cream on Instagram and was very curious to try it. Sometimes a hype can be overrated but this was definitely as good as it looks! 😍👌Mine was with strawberries and as topping white chocolate. My friends had one with strawberries, oreos and white chocolate. I can’t wait to try another one again! Afterwards, we ate some delicious tapas. I love to eat croquettes and a mosto which is grape juice in the popular bar El Corcho. We also loved the solomillo al roquefort in another famous bar called La Tasquita. Spanish food is just da best! 💗 Viva España 🇪🇸, oleeee!
Hot Summer night with my friend and mother 🌞🔥
I enjoyed some delicious Spanish food with my friend Maria. We ate a delicious pincho moruno with potatoes and tortilla at my favourite restaurant called Elany. When we drink a mosto we always get a free tapa which was chorizo this time. I love the owners which are from Romania so much. My family knows them so much and it’s so great to have your fav restaurant 5 min from your home. One time we also got a free flan 🍮. I also love to always give them a tip.
Afterwards, my mamita and I enjoyed a manzanilla tea 🍵 and a mosto at La Plaza Mayor. It was 38 degrees the whole day so it was too hot to be inside. It was nice to be at a terrace during the night as the temperature was cooling down. Global warming is not something fake. It’s so real and I’m experiencing it right now in Spain. It’s never been so hot and so crazy weather during the Summer. We can all do something to save this planet 🌍🙏 One day it will be too late….
Other amazing things of July ❤️:
Finished reading the book Everything, Everything 📚
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH 😍. I will post a good review about it soon together with some other books I’ve read. I already talked about this book on my last blog post. I’ve never read a bookso fast. I finished it in two weeks whoehoeeee.
Receiving awesome pen pal letters 🖋️
I loved the snail mail I got from Vikki, Rosie, Danielle, and my lovely blogging friendChloe. Thank you all so much. I really love to receive amazing letters especially from such lovely people as you all are. I also loved the post so much from Sophia. I loved the quotes and especially the unicorn writing paper 🦄 as it’s difficult to find here. I loved the postcard from my best friend from Crete so much too ❤️.
Last but not least, I also loved the post from Barbara so much. She also sent me some lovely presents for my birthday which was the first of June. I loved the Disney paper and bag somuch. I especially loved the mermaid vibes passport holder. I always wanted that. The edible unicorn wafers are amazing too and the unicorn holder. Thank you all so much for everything! I’m so grateful to know you all. I love you all so much 💖
Watched the movie Campeones 🎬
I watched this movie on the bus trip to Granada. I already wanted to watch this movie for so long. It’s a beautiful Spanish movie. I cried so much 😍😭. It’s about a trainer of basketball who get a punishment of driving too hard because of drinking alcohol. He then has to train a team which all have sindrome of down. I think this Spanish movie is so important. It’s all about love, friendships and inclusion. We all deserve to feel equal and be treated as persons. We all deserve the same opportunities in life no matter what 🙏. This movie also won the prize of best Spanish movie 2019. There was also a beautiful sentence said in the movie which was: “You treated us as humans.” “Because you are humans”. I wish there would be more movies like this one because they are so necessary. We are all equal, always remember that.
Thank you all for reading this blog post. What did you do in July? What are your favourites from my list? Do you have any Summer trips planned? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
