May favourites ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒž

Hola lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

It was so hot these days ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ”ฅ. I’m happy Summer is back but I can’t deal with the heat. In The Netherlands 30 degrees is way too much and also humid. In Spain I’m used to the Summer but it’s dry which is different. Right now, there’s a bit of a storm. Always the same weather here haha. I’m really happy I enjoyed some beach days which I will share with you all soon. Now, I will share about my May favourites. In this blog post I will share about my bike tour ๐Ÿšฒ through Haarlem with my mother, writing a story for a writing contest ๐Ÿ“ and winning some giveaways.

Things I did with my lovely family ๐Ÿ‘ช:

Bike tour through Haarlem ๐Ÿšฒ๐ŸŒž

I love biking through Haarlem with mamita ๐Ÿ˜. It’s been ages since I used the bike haha how bad ๐Ÿ˜‚. I just feel sometimes a lack of energy or my heart beats fast when I bike. I do it on my own time with my mother. I don’t have a bike to use in Spain. It’s been lovely weather all these months. I’m so grateful for these beautiful moments full of sunshine ๐ŸŒž. I’m also blessed to live in Haarlem, such a romantic city. I prefer small cities so much more than big cities. We did a bike tour from our house through our park to Haarlem city. We sat along the river Spaarne and saw some cute animals such as lama’s, a pony and a duck with babies. I loved it. They were so cute!!! On the way home we saw my brother and his wife from the balcony. I hate to not be able to hug each other normally but it is what it’s. Better than nothing. I love you. I believe in the good things coming. Stay safe you all ๐Ÿ’ž

Mother’s Day ๐Ÿ’

I was sad that we couldn’t celebrate Mother’s Day like we always do each year with the whole family. At least, my brother and his wife came to our home to give my mother beautiful flowers, a card, pie they made and chocolate. I gave my mother also a handmade card and a phone case with flowers and a butterfly on it. She loved it very much. I’m sure next year will be better. I’m so happy to have a beautiful mother like you are. Thank you for being there for me in good and bad times. I love you till the moon and back ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒœ๐ŸŒ›.

Walks in the park ๐ŸŒณ

I had some nice walks with my mother in the park and we enjoyed the sunshine. One day we ate delicious ice cream ๐Ÿฆ. My mother ate a Magnum and I ate a raket rocket. I love it! I also enjoyed the daisies and the other beautiful yellow flowers ๐ŸŒป. I love to see the flowers blossom and all the green in the park. It’s such a beautiful world.

Watching Eurovision Europe shine a light ๐Ÿ’ก๐ŸŽถ

There was no real Eurovision this year but I’m happy to have enjoyed this alternative show called ”Europe shine a light”. I always watch Eurovision every year together with my mother. Music always unites people and especially in hard times. I loved to see Duncan Laurence singing his new single Someone Else. It was so beautiful ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽค. I loved the orchestra performance too. I also loved so much when all the participants across Europe performed the song Love Shine A Light by Katrina And The Waves. I hope next year I can join the family show with my friend live in Rotterdam because I already bought tickets for it.

Watched Begin again, Frankie and Johnny & the serie Never have I ever ๐ŸŽฌ

I loved the movie Begin again with Keira Knightley and Adam Levine. It’s a sweet movie about a singer-songwriter who is chasing her dreams. I loved the songs and it really inspired me to follow my dreams. I love singing so much too but I don’t know if being famous would be something for me. I also liked the movie Frankie and Johnny with the famous actors Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer. Johnny has just been released from prison, and gets a job in a cafรฉ beside waitress Frankie. Frankie is a bit of a loner, but Johnny is determined their romance will blossom. I think it was a beautiful movie that makes you think about how love finds you. It wasn’t a clichรฉ movie at all. I also loved the first season of the serie Never have I ever which I saw on Netflix. All episodes are just 20 or 30 minutes long. It’s about The complicated life of a modern-day first generation Indian American teenage girl, inspired by Mindy Kaling’s own childhood. It was so good. It was about the trauma of loosing a parent, grief, heartbreak, friendship, family, school, the Indian and American culture and love. I cried and laughed at the same time while watching these episodes. I can’t wait for a second season!!!! ๐Ÿ˜

Operaciรณn Triunfo 2020 ๐ŸŽค

My favourite Spanish talent show Operaciรณn Triunfo 2020 came back for a month ๐ŸŽถ. It got suspended in March because of the pandemic. The 9 contestants had to leave the singing academy. In this academy they also sleep. You can watch what they do on a livestream because there are camera’s in the academy. It’s so much fun. Every week there’s a liveshow where they sing some songs. At the end the winner got chosen a few weeks ago. I’m so happy Nia won because she rocked every song which they had given to her. She can sing, dance and perform the best. The winner gets โ‚ฌ100.000. Sometimes I also think of going to this talent show and participating in the casting. I just don’t know if being exposed so much would trigger more of my anxiety and if it would be something for me. I love this talent show so much. The teachers and the production are so kind. In 2017 I went to one of the concerts in Madrid with my friend and it was one of the best experiences in my life. You really build such a beautiful fan relationship with the artists which come out from this talent show. I can’t wait for a new edition! ๐Ÿ’–

Things I did with my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•:

My best friend’s birthday ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ‰

I couldn’t celebrate the birthday of my best friend for obvious reasons. I was happy to have made her a beautiful collage which I always make and a beautiful handmade card. As you all know, I love writing letters and making cards. As present I got her Lush products which was a shower gel and soap. I’m happy she loved it. I love you to the moon and back. Thank you for being the best best friend I could wish for ๐Ÿ’•.

Sending cards to people who are sick, lonely or need to cheer up ๐Ÿ’Œ

There was a girl which I follow on Instagram who was writing cards to people she don’t know in The Netherlands. I asked to join the group and already sent more than 40 cards to people who are mentally or physically ill, lonely or just need to cheer up in The Netherlands. Coronavirus made the elderly more lonely and receiving a card made them happy. I got the stamps for free and also the beautiful cards for free because it was a donation. I love to write and help other people. It makes me feel less alone in my own struggles of this life and it makes me feel happy. I love to be of service. You never know what someone is going through so be kind always and spread love because we all need it so much ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™.

Other amazing things of May ๐Ÿ’–:

Writing a story for the Sea of words contest ๐Ÿ“

I wrote a story in Spanish for the โ€A sea of wordsโ€ contest. It has the same name as my blog. The European Institute of the Mediterranean tagged me on a post in Instagram. The contest is every year. This year it was about young people faced with climate change in the Mediterranean and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development ๐ŸŒŠ. The story I wrote is about me being in the sea with my boat and then suddenly being stuck surrounded by plastic bottles. Then a man comes to help me and talks about how important it is to take action. I already won an essay contest in 2015 and spoke at the United Nations in New York City ๐Ÿ—ฝ so I thought why not try again even though my inner critic is loud sometimes. The jury is now reviewing the stories. The 10 best winners will be chosen in July and will go to Barcelona at the end of September for free and will have a creative writing course. Itโ€™s really so amazing. I will keep you all updated.

Winning a scarf from the shop Azabache ๐Ÿ’–

Nowadays I’m entering so many giveaways on Instagram. I love it so much especially when I win of course. I won a beautiful scarf from my favourite shop in Valladolid. Azabache has so many beautiful hippie clothes. I bought a lot of dresses and other clothes there. I won a scarf with the famous print of Gustav Klimt ๐ŸŽจ. It’s beautiful.

Winning books from Melissa Wells and The Goddess Collective journal ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ†

I love Melissa Wells. She is a certified eating psychology coach and health coach. She has such a beautiful community. In December after doing the advent challenge I won a membership to The Godess Collective online which is a platform to work on loving ourselves, growing ourselves and has so many amazing workshops. Now I won the giveaway on Instagram. I love to keep winning stuff haha. Normally I wouldn’t won anything. I won the books from Melissa Wells which are about the diet culture, loving ourselves and having a healthy relationship with food. I don’t struggle that much with this topic but I love to learn more about it though. I also won the journal which is so beautiful. We are all goddesses yeahhh! I can’t wait to go her retreat in Bali too one day ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒŠ. That would be so magical.

Flower box postcards set ๐ŸŒธ

I bought a beautiful flower postcards set online. I can use them for my pen pals and other people I write. It contains 100 postcards with flowers ๐Ÿ’ by 10 different artists. The 10 cards from each artist are different from each other. I love flowers. The cards are colourful, original and just so beautiful. It was โ‚ฌ20 but definitely worth the prize!

Thank you all for reading this blog post. What did you do in May? Did you ever won a giveaway on Instagram? Do you love to go biking? Did you ever participated in a writing contest? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

April favourites ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒž

Hola lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

I have been sad for a few days and cried a lot because of the death of 5 surfers which I wrote in this blog post. When that sadness past I was griefing about a good friend of my mother who died a few days ago in Spain ๐Ÿ˜ข. He had cancer. We knew it because of people posting sad posts on his Facebook and he didn’t answer anymore on Whatsapp. I felt so sad too and cried much because he was always so nice to us. I’m happy we can still have contact with his sister. He felt like a father for me and understood my anxiety and was always so supportive for me. Just writing this I cry again. I have enough of grief and crying really. I just hate death and I know it’s part of life but it’s the most horrible feeling ever. Life is just unfair because good and honest people always die earlier than the other ones. On a happy note, let’s move on to this blog post. I did some nice stuff in April. Who says being in lockdown has to be boring?! I will share the 30 days of space challenge I did by Yoga Girl ๐Ÿ™, the new leggings I bought and beautiful sunny days in the park.

Things I did with my lovely family ๐Ÿ‘ช:

First ice cream of the year ๐Ÿฆ

I love ice cream so much ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿง. I ate my first ice cream of the year with my mother. We went to IJsboertje which is just 5 min. away from our house. We had to take it with us and eat it somewhere else. We ate in the park. My flavours were white chocolate and vanilla and my mother had lemon ice cream. It was all so delicious. I can’t wait to go back!

My Spanish niece got a baby ๐Ÿ‘ถ

My Spanish niece got her first baby boy and I’m so happy for her!!! I can’t share a picture unfortunately because of privacy but he looked so cute. They live in Basque country. I can’t wait to be able to go again to Spain to visit them with my parents. My niece is 43 years old and it just reminds me that it’s never too late to have a baby at that age or be married or whatever. Society always creates those rules but we have to decide or own rules in life. We only have one life so let’s live it the way we want and not what society ask us to do.

Sunny days in the park & in the garden ๐ŸŒžโœŒ

We have had a beautiful April month of many days of sunshine and 20 degrees. I love to enjoy my time in the garden with my mother. I also loved to walk in the park and enjoy nature. It’s so nice to live so close near nature ๐Ÿ˜. I also love to go to our lake because I always need to be surrounded by water. Water is still and makes me feel calm and peaceful. It’s all I need and I’m so grateful for that. I would literally die right now if I would be in a small flat. In Spain we don’t have a big house or garden so the lockdown would be worse for us. In the garden I read, chill, daydream, listen to music, write, meditate and just enjoy life.

Birthday of my brother and his wife ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽˆ

It was the birthday of my brother the 18th of April and of his wife at the end of April. We couldn’t celebrate it with the family of course. It made me sad but I know we will soon be reunited again when it’s possible. We wrote some cards for them and my present for them was a canvas with some pictures together. One is from the wedding of them, another one from the park and with the family together. I’m happy they liked it. My mother brought some flowers for them too. I only went one time to their appartment and saw them on a distance. It was nice to be able to talk to them but also strange. Not being able to hug your loved ones is just the most heartbreaking thing ever. I need hugs in life. The world need a group hug which will hopefully come soon again ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ™.

Netflix subscription ๐ŸŽฌ

I joined Netflix just for a few months which is really nice. I love to be able to watch series and movies on Netflix. The only thing I don’t like is that some movies or series are not on Netflix. I also would like to watch Disney movies but I don’t want to also have a subcription on Disney+ because of the money. I really love the movies and series which are only made for Netflix.

Easter time ๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿค๐Ÿฅ

We always celebrate it with the whole family but of course this year is different. I’m happy I could celebrate it with my parents. We had a delicious fondue with potatoes. We also ate delicious chocolate eggs and cakes. It was all so delicious. What I loved the most was of course the blackberry juice with fruits and whipped cream ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‡. My daddy plucked those years ago and it’s a tradition of his family to make this. I LOVE these kinds of traditions so much. The juice is so delicious and so healthy too. I love my family forevah.

Other amazing things of April ๐Ÿ’–:

New leggings from Shein ๐Ÿ‘–

I bought some amazing yoga leggings from the website Shein. I really like them and they were not expensive at all. I really needed to have some nice leggings. They are colourful and have flowers ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒธ on it so I don’t need more. It fits perfectly. I’m really happy about it! I made some nice pictures in the park with them on.

Pen pal letters ๐Ÿ’Œ

I got some beautiful pen pal letters this month. I got some beautiful mail from Chloe who is one of my best friends ever. I love you so much soulsister. She makes beautiful art with a flower theme, a moon theme or anything beautiful for her page on Etsy. You can check it out. She made a beautiful painting of some flowers and sent me a nice letter together with stickers. I also got a cute letter from Rosie from UK. It was full of beautiful notes, glitter stickers with unicorns and hearts, quotes and a beautiful letter. I loved the stickers with the quote ”Friends are special treasures of the heart.” I also loved the card with the quote ”I am at peace with my age.” I agree that every age is beautiful and that society just creates expectations which aren’t real and only create unhappiness and unnecessary stress and anxiety.

I also got a beautiful letter from Agata from Poland. I loved the writing paper so much. I also loved the cute stickers and the card of Warsaw was beautiful. I loved the colours and the flowers on it. I wish to go to Poland once and visit you. I want to meet all of my online friends one day. I know that dream will come true one day and it will be the happiest day of my life. I love you all so much ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’• xoxo.

30 days of space challenge by Yoga Girl ๐Ÿ™

I did the 30 days of space challenge by Yoga Girl which is my biggest inspiration in life ๐Ÿ˜. I never commited to a 30 days of yoga challenge so it was a nice way to enjoy yoga again. I only took some classes in my life and did it at home. Every day we did yoga on the website of Yoga Girl for free. This challenge was made to create space in our hearts, our bodies and our minds as we find ourselves in a time of physical space and distancing. Also, every day there was a theme. We meditated together, felt our feelings and pulled a card every day. One day we had to build our own sacred altar, go outside and enjoy nature or shake our bodies to remove negative energy. It was soooo good. I’m so happy I met amazing new pen pal friends. I love to be spiritual, do yoga, meditate, and there are not much many friends of mine who align with that aswell. It’s nice to have this beautiful Yoga Girl community. I love them so much.

Since that challenge is over I’m still doing yoga every damn day and it helps me so much with being more calm and easing anxiety ๐Ÿ™. Anxiety will not go away but yoga and meditation gives you the tool to sit with it and be able to let it go at some point. We have to sit with our feelings to be able to let them go. I also thought yoga was only about handstands and being flexible but it isn’t. I’m not that flexible but I have fun, feel my feelings, cry a lot and I’m happy when I practice. That’s yoga. I can’t wait to go to her retreat in Aruba one day. That’s one of my BIG dreams and is on my bucketlist ๐ŸŒ โœจ.

Got a free month subscription for the Yoga Girl website ๐Ÿ˜

When I was doing the 30 day challenge some strangers were gifting a free subscription to people. I also got a free month subscription. I felt very grateful and so happy. It’s so nice that people gift things without something in return. I wish more people were like that in real life too. I just don’t have much money for a subscription so it was nice to be able to do yoga for free on the website after the challenge. You also get free live classes with Yoga Girl which are SO amazing and a Yoga E-Book and astrology workbook. If you get the year subscription you get a t-shirt for free. I wish to have that one day.

Lush bath ๐Ÿ›

I had a nice bath and used a bath bomb from Lush. It was the intergalatic one. It had such a good smell of peppermint. The blue, pink colours and glitter that came out of it were beyond amazing! This was a beautiful experience where I could just bath in the universe itself ๐Ÿ˜โœจ. It was like bathing in stardust. I 100% recommend this bath bomb for you all. I always listen to some beautiful music too while I’m laying in bath.

Watched To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, Chicken Run and Isn’t it romantic ๐ŸŽฌ

I watched some nice movies in April. I loved the second movie of To All the Boys. I love the actors and just everything. However, I loved the first movie more. In the second movie you knew a bit what would happen. I also watched the movie Chicken Run with my parents. It was a cute movie. The movie was about chickens who were living on a chicken farm and the mean owners wanted to make pie of them so they invented a plan to escape. I also watched Isn’t it romantic with my mother. I love the actress Rebel Wilson which also is known from Pitch Perfect. I love that it wasn’t a cliche love story. It had a great message about loving ourselves and the music was also nice. We don’t need someone to love ourselves because we are already whole.

Thank you all for reading this blog post. What was your favourite thing from my list? What did you do in April? Did you also enjoy some sunshine in the garden or park? Do you do love to do yoga, meditation or be spiritual? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

March favourites ๐Ÿ’•โœจ

Hola lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

I’m back with my favourites from March. It was a good month until we got all locked down at home. I was struggling so much by that time. Now I feel a bit more calm. It feels more normal when of course life is not normal. It was nice to have some fun in March. It was nice to have seen some people which I didn’t see for a long time. I’m missing them now ๐Ÿ˜ข. In this blog post I will share about meeting my best friend and her girlfriend, seeing the baby of my friends brother and having a new laptop.

Things I did with my lovely family ๐Ÿ‘ช:

Visiting the baby of my friends brother ๐Ÿ‘ถ

We visited the baby of my friends brother. They are also our friends. We went to their wedding. My parents are also friends with their parents. The father of the child has a brother which is bff with my brother since they were little. They were in the same classes. It was so nice to see the baby Ryan๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’–. He is so cute and lovely. He is so calm too and sleep peacefully ๐Ÿ˜ด. We ate beschuit met muisjes together with tea which is typical to eat in The Netherlands. They were blue because it’s a boy otherwise it’s pink for a girl. I love this tradition. We also loved the 4 cats, my fav is the orange cat haha Garfield! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฑ They are so fluffy and cute!!!! It was nice to see the wedding pictures too. It’s been already 7 years since we were on their beautiful wedding.

Pancakes time ๐Ÿฅž

After visiting the baby we ate some delicious pancakes at home. I always love to eat them so much. My daddy makes the best pancakes in the world. They were delicious as always! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹

Walks in the park ๐ŸŒž

It was very sunny in March and even more now in April. I love to walk in the park with my mother which is just around the corner of my house. It’s nice to be in nature always. I love to go on walks where we see the cows and the mills which is a typical Dutch landscape. I also saw some beautiful pink flowers.

Eating a delicous disco dip ice cream ๐Ÿฆ

I love disco dip ice cream so much ๐Ÿ˜. It’s so typical to eat this here. I ate it at the Hema when it was still open for ice cream. Right now, the restaurant is closed. You can still get ice cream in some other places though. I love this so much. It’s also so good for my teeth lol not. It’s so delicious. I love the crispy taste of it. Also it looks so beautiful.

New stationery from Euroland ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

When I went shopping I bought some nice stationery from the shop Euroland. I bought a sticker set which has some beautiful theme stickers from Spring time, cats and quotes. I also bought a set of 6 envelopes with liners. I love it all.

Watching the movie Aladdin and It could happen to you ๐ŸŽฌ

I watched Aladdin with my mother. I had never watched it haha how bad. I loved it so much. I love the music and just the whole movie. Such a great movie. I can’t wait to watch more Disney movies because I love them so much โœจ. With both of my parents I watched It could happen to you. It’s about a police officer who promises to share his lottery ticket with a waitress in lieu of a tip. This police officer is married. I loved this romantic movie so much. I didn’t find it that clichรฉ like other movies. There was a really great story line and I loved the actors.

Things I did with my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•:

Seeing my best friend and her girlfriend ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’–

I saw my bestie and her girlfriend again on Friday the 13th which was definitely a lucky day. I went by bus and was a bit scared because soon after that we got into a lockdown in The Netherlands. I’m just happy I saw my best friend again after three months ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ญโœจ In these dark and hard times in the world I always feel at most peace by your side. I literally am crying now. I love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond ๐ŸŒœ๐ŸŒ›. It’s rare to find someone who understands you. I’m so blessed to have you in my life forevah. As long as I have you by my side everything will be all right. Thank you and your lovely girlfriend for cooking delicious Indonesian food!!! It was a bit spicy which I can’t eat because I get an upset stomach but it was okay haha. If it was really spicy I would have died lol. Take care you both, see ya soon! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿค—

Beautiful pen pal letters ๐Ÿ’Œ

I love my pen pals so much. I always get such beautiful mail which make my day much better ๐Ÿ˜. There’s nothing more beautiful than receiving a handwritten letter and some nice goodies. I love arts and crafts. Being creative is the best. It inspires me and is so good for my mental health. I’m happy for the letter I got from Agata which came all the way from Poland. I loved it so much. I loved the writing paper. I loved the quotes on that paper which looks like it’s burned. I have never seen that before. Thank you for the rainbow bookmark. I will definitely use it soon. It’s so cute! โ˜๏ธ Thank you Chloe for your mail like always. You are so creative!!!! A real artist. I love the gemini โ™Š card. You knew that I would love it too so much. I love the universe โœจ. Your letter was beautiful. I like the stickers, the drawings and the bookmark. Another one for my collection haha! I also really liked the moon with my name. I’m going to have it in my room. Love you to the moon and back. I’m so thankful for our friendship. I know we will meet soon.

I’m also thankful for the amazing mail I got from Rosie. I’m so happy to be friends with you. I loved everything you sent to me always especially the quotes, the little friendship card and your letter of course. I decorated my room with some of the quotes you have sent me. We are all in this together always. I’m sending you all my love. Thank you lovely Sophia for your beautiful letter. I love the rainbow sticky notes, the stickers and just everything. What I love the most is your cards with quotes on it which you always make. They are so inspiring and beautiful. Keep being you because you are awesome.

I  L O V E  Y O U  A L L ๐Ÿ’–

Other amazing things of March ๐Ÿ’–:

Buying beautiful stationery online ๐Ÿ›’

I bought some beautiful stationery online. I love to buy on Etsy because I support small businesses that way and they have the cutest stuff ever. I bought a floral A5 lined notepad and A6 notepad from Abby Cook Illustration. It looks so beautiful with the flowers ๐Ÿ’. I will use it for writing letters for my pen pals. I also bought cute washi tape with panda design from Petite Pink Boutique. Lastly, I bought an awesome space mystery box from Callaby Crafts. It includes samples of washi tape, three washi tape with universe design, dream notes, stickers of the moon ๐ŸŒœand a pen. I loved it all so much! ๐Ÿ˜ I love the universe so much.

New laptop ๐Ÿ’ป

My daddy finally bought a new laptop because the other one was broken. It’s a Chromebook from the brand Acer. It works so well. You have to install first the apps and then you can use it. The screen is beautiful. It’s better than Windows or Mac because you don’t get any virus. I’m so happy with it. The next time we go to Spain we will bring it with us.

Officially Spring time ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒป

Spring begin the 20th of March ๐ŸŒž. I’m always happy with the beginning of Spring because I love Spring and Summer is closer which is my favourite season ever. However, I hope that we are able to go to the beach this Summer and go to the swimming pool. I need that ๐Ÿ˜ข. Spring is such a lovely season. I love Summer but I hate heatwaves haha. They make me sick really. I love 20 degrees and just enjoy the days in the garden now. I love to see the baby animals and see the flowers blossoming. Nature in Spring is so beautiful. We let the dark Winter ahead and embrace these days with hope and light. We need it so much this time.

International Women’s Day 2020 โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

I always find this such an important day. International Women’s Day is every day not only on March the 8th. However, I find this day an important day to raise awareness. I’m a feminist by heart forever and will always stand up for the same rights between men and women. Right now, I’m reading a book about sexual harrasment and controlling behaviour which breaks my heart because I know that many women have to suffer through this in life. This really has to stop. One day I went to a feminist strike in Spain which was awesome ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘ญ. You can read it in this blog post. This year I made a poem for this day which you can find here.

Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope you are all safe and sound at home. I really do hope better times are coming because we all deserve it so much. What was your favourite thing of my list? What’s your favourite season? Do you like my new stationery? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

April favourites ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒป

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

Today I will share with you all my favourites of the month April. I can sum up that I saw many beautiful flowers ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒผ, had a lot of fun with my family, wrote a lot of pen pal letters, received some beautiful letters and celebrated the birthday of my brother and his wife. I will tell you all about it and also show you with some nice pictures. I hope you will like it.

Some things I did:

Internship interview

At the beginning of April I was in Spain and had to do an internship interview at the 5 stars hotel ๐Ÿฉ ๐Ÿ‡ with the vine yards. It went pretty well even though I was suffering from so much anxiety and I thought I wouldn’t be able to cope. I’m proud I faced my fear. I wrote about my whole experience in this blog post.

4 pictures made into a collage about my internship interview

Tulip fields in The Netherlands ๐ŸŒท

I went to see the tulip fields in The Netherlands with my mother on Easter. It was so beautiful and magical to see! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒทโœจ I have never been to these tulip fields. You can see more of the pictures I took in my photo diary post. I’m happy I grew up in a country full of flowers. Flower power always! ๐Ÿ’ I’m forever a hippie girl! โœŒ๏ธ

Me with beautiful red tulips with a quote

Bloemencorso in Haarlem

I went to the Bloemencorso in Haarlem with my mother. We loved it so much as we both love flowers. It’s been many years since I didn’t go because I was in Spain. I always go whenever I get the chance because it’s a unique event in Haarlem. It’s definitely my favourite event ever! ๐Ÿ˜ Flowers make me so happy. They are so colourful and beautiful ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒป. They also smell so good. Flowers make this world better. It’s also called Flower Parade. It’s every year. The first prize was for the one with the ๐Ÿ, ๐Ÿข, and ๐Ÿฒ. The second prize was for the one you can see on the picture which is called “Rise of the phoenix”. The third prize was for the one with the tulips from Keukenhof. They are all so beautiful. We loved them.

It’s incredible how they all make this with flowers. It takes a lot of work. They mostly use hyacinths, tulips and daffodils. It always amazes me. Lots of tourists come to Haarlem to see this event. So yeahhh, visit Haarlem and go to Keukenhof which is the beautiful tulip park in Lisse ๐ŸŒท You will not regret it ๐Ÿ˜

Lovely things I did with my family ๐Ÿ‘ช:

Eating pancakes ๐Ÿฅž

I didn’t celebrate King’s Day in The Netherlands which was the 27th of April. This day we celebrate the birthday of our King. It was bad weather and I also didn’t felt well because of stomach cramps before my period so I stayed at home. I enjoyed the day writing cards and eating delicious pancakes which are called Pannenkoeken in Dutch. My daddy always makes the most delicious ones! ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜ It’s definitely one of my favourite food ever.

Delicious pancakes made by my daddy

Easter time ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿ’—

I celebrated Easter Monday with the whole family. My two brothers, their wifes, and my little niece came to our house. It was so nice to be all together. It was also 25 degrees so we could all enjoy a delicious lunch with a boiled egg in the garden๐Ÿฅš My little niece was also playing with water ๐Ÿ’ฆ in the garden and was making me wet with a spray haha it was really fun. We also went to play with her in the park. I had such a nice day with my lovely family who I love so much ๐Ÿ˜

I also enjoyed a delicious Easter breakfast with a boiled egg, bread, croissant and orange juice. Before we went to see the flower fields we went for a nice bike ride through the park near to my house. We also took the ferry which is for free and you can go with the bike. It’s so nice to enjoy the river the Spaarne in Haarlem ๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ’—โ›ด๏ธ

I hope that I can find a job too and I also can’t wait to enjoy Summer time and go surfing! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ Summer in Spain is the best.I always spend my Summers there. It’s always sunny, 30 or even 40 degrees. I love sunshine ๐ŸŒž. Summer is my favourite season but 40 degrees is too much for me hahah. In The Netherlands it can rain a lot in the Summer so I better be in Spain. I also love to travel with my friends and mother to the beach. I can’t wait to plan some awesome Summer plans!

I love the floral designs so much ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒบ

March favourites ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒž

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

Today I will share you my favourites from the month March. I also felt sad and very anxious because of the upcoming interview for the internship in the 5 stars hotel in Spain which I shared in my last post. I want to share you some of my favourite things from March such as Spring time, delicious Spanish and Mexican food I’ve eaten, concert tickets I bought, travel trips, my favourite song I’ve listen to and much more. It’s great to reflect on the positive things ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’—.

My favourite song of the month ๐ŸŽถ:

The Netherlands, Duncan Laurence – Arcade

“I spent all of the love I’ve saved
We were always a losing game
Small-town boy in a big arcade
I got addicted to a losing game

Ooh, ooh
All I know, all I know
Loving you is a losing game”

I love Eurovision Song Festival so much. Every year I watch it with my mother. I love to hear the songs of all the countries. Music unites people. Since I heard the song of The Netherlands I was in awe. I couldn’t stop listening to this masterpiece. Duncan Laurence will represents The Netherlands with the song “Arcade”. The music video is so beautiful. I’m crying every time I hear it and watch it. This song is so beautiful and special. It gives me all the feelings. It’s so unique, vulnerable, honest and sensitive. He sing so beautiful, the lyrics is beautiful and the whole melody and chorus and everything is just WOW. Duncan is a 24 year old boy who studied at the RockAcademy in Tilburg. I love that for once The Netherlands is sending an unknown artist. I love to discover new music and artists.

He made this song during his studies at the RockAcademy. His inspiration came from a loved one that passed away at an early age. Arcade is a story about the search for the love of your life. Itโ€™s about the hope to reach something that seems unreachable. The water surface in the video represents the hope. The nude reflects the vulnerability and perhaps the rebirth from the hope. I really do hope The Netherlands for once wins with this unbelievable beautiful song which gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. If a song can make you feel so much emotion and if the singer also brings that emotion to the audience then for me it’s definitely a winner ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ˜ I really want to be able to see The Netherlands and also Spain win Eurovision Song Contest for once in my life.

My favourite serie I watched ๐Ÿ“บ:

Cuรฉntame Cรณmo Pasรณ

Cuรฉntame Cรณmo Pasรณ is also known as Remember when and is a Spanish television drama series. It’s the longest running prime-time series in the history of television in Spain. The 20th season has started last week on Thursday and I’m so happy. I love to watch it with my mother. I’ve watched almost all episodes until now. The serie is about the experiences of a middle-class family, the Alcรกntaras, during the last years of the rule of Francisco Franco and the beginning of the Spanish transition to democracy. You learn so much about the history of Spain because they tell you it. So many series in Spain are based on the past. I also love all the actors so much. I feel so much watching it. I cry with them and laugh.

My favourite gifts I got/I bought ๐ŸŽ:

Perfume Paco Rabanne and O’Neill sweater

I went to eat soup in the church with my mother and a friend of her. I love that friend so much. Afterwards, we went to her home and she gave me some nice gifts which she always does. I love people who are so generous. Last time she also gave me the perfume from Paco Rabanne. This time she gave me the one of Lady Million Eau my gold! It smells so good. Does anyone have this perfume? I also got a beautiful pink sweater from the surf brand O’Neill. My mother also got a bunch of clothes just all for free. So sweet! The perfume was new and the clothes were never used.

Concert tickets for the concert 1016 from Alfred Garcia

Last month I bought concert tickets for the concert 1016 from Alfred Garcia. I bought it the same day the tickets were on sale. I love concerts and I miss going to concerts so much. The last concert I went to was with my best friend to Passenger a few months ago. The concert will take place the 31th of May in Valladolid. Just one day before my birthday. Best birthday present ever! I really need to be in Spain to enjoy this beautiful concert with my good friend. Alfred Garcia makes beautiful music and compose every song by himself. His music is just sooooo amazing ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I also wrote about his music in this post.

My favourite food I have eaten ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿฐ๐ŸŒฎ:

Eating soup in the church

I ate delicious soup for free in the church with my mother and her friend. This is typical during the days before Easter in the church near to our house in The Netherlands. It was so good to see the conductor from a choir and other familiar people I know. They were happy to see me and it made me even feel emotional. I sang in this children’s choir many years too besides singing in my other choir for 11 years. We also donated money for children in Africa to get access to clean water. In total we all donated โ‚ฌ211 for this charity. It always feels good to do something good for the world.

Eating tomato soup in the church

Delicious Spanish tortilla de patatas

After eating soup in the church I ate a delicious Spanish tortilla with my mother made by that same friend at her home. Spanish vibes always! Viva Espaรฑa!

Tortilla de patatas

Enjoying Mexican food at Havana in The Hague

I ate at my favourite restaurant in The Hague which is Havana with my lovely mother ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿด I loved the Social Deal and the Mexican food so much. We ate a delicious tomato soup, burritos and fajitas with tortilla’s, rice, chicken, guacamole, crรจme fraice and cheese. As dessert I had a delicious monta cuba which was vanilla ice-cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. My mother ate a delicious chocolate pie with whipped cream. It was a delicious meal with good service! I also loved the Spanish music. It reminds me of the nights I used to dance here with my friends after studying. I miss those times and felt nostalgic. I have such great memories of this beautiful city. The Hague will be forever in my heart and is one of my favourites cities in The Netherlands.

Delicious pie with mint tea in the restaurant Molenplas

I enjoyed a nice night with my mother and a Spanish friend to eat delicious pie with mint tea in the Molenplas. This is the restaurant which we have near to our house in Holland. My mother ate a delicious chocolate brownie, the Spanish friend ate apple pie and I ate a caramel toffee pie with whipped cream. It was so yummy! I had never tried that pie before and I loved it.

Caramel fudge pie, brownie and apple pie

Dutch fondue with my family

Before I went to Spain with my mother I had a delicious Dutch fondue with my lovely family: me, my parents, my brother and his wife. We had a fondue with meat together with potatoes, different sauces and a salad. As dessert we ate vanilla ice-cream and fruits mmm ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿด๐Ÿ˜‹

Other favourite things ๐Ÿ’—:

Enjoying Spring time in The Netherlands and in Spain๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿ’

I enjoyed Spring time both in Spain and in The Netherlands. I love that it’s finally Spring. It was about time. I really don’t like the winter. I was so done with it. My favourite season is Summer but I love Spring too. I love seeing the flowers blossom, the animals awake and the beautiful nature. I went for some walks and also used my bike in The Netherlands. It felt good to finally feel the warmth of the sunshine on my skin. Life is better with sunshine and good weather.

Trip to the city Leรณn in Spain with my mother

I went to the city Leรณn with my mother a week ago. It’s a city just two hours away from Valladolid. We went to a spa hotel which was amazing. I loved to use the jacuzzi and swimming pool with my mother. It was so relaxing. I also loved to visit the beautiful cathedral with the stained window glasses. The tapas were also so delicious. You get a free tapa when you order a drink. It was an amazing trip and I will share more of it in detail in another post.

My niece slept in our home for one night

My niece slept one night in our home with me and my parents. My brother and his wife had to take pictures at a hotel that night near to our house. It was for an event for donating money for a sick child. It was really nice to spend some time with my niece. She is a wild and happy child. We took her to our park too with my other brother and wife. After walking a bit she said: “I can’t take another step”. Hahaha that made me laugh so much because she was saying it so dramatic like we have walked so much which wasn’t the case. Then my brother and wife carried her home. She woke up early but fortunately my parents put her in bath and played music. Noanne also loves to go to my room as I’ve so many things haha it feels likes Disney World. I’m also just happy it was just for one night. I’m not sure if one day I will have a child. To be honest it feels really overwhelming to have kids when you suffer from anxiety at the same time.

Thank you so much for reading this blog post. I really loved to write it even though it’s always a lot of work. What were your favourites from my post? What did you enjoy in March? Did you also enjoy Spring time in your country? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

February favourites ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽถ

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

I loved to make this post last month so I’m doing it again this month. It’s nice to write about your favourites things every month. I ate delicious food with my friends this month. I was happy to finally have fun with my friends again as I didn’t see them in so many months. I really missed it. I will also let you know other things I did, which serie I enjoyed this month, what my favourite music was this month & some other good things of February ๐Ÿ’—

My favourite music ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’ž:

Ariana Grande – Thank u, next album

I basically only listened to the new album called Thank u, next of ARIANA GRANDE!!!! It’s so good. If you haven’t listened to it yet, do it! You won’t regret it. I have always liked her music but I consider myself definitely a fan of her now. I would love to go to her concert and meet her. She’s such a queen and I love her so much ๐Ÿ‘ธ. This album is so real, honest and so beautiful. My favourite songs are “Needy”, “Bloodline”, “Fake Smile”, “Thank u, next” and “Break up with your girlfriend, I’m bored.” I love all the songs, the lyrics and music so much but these are my favourites ๐ŸŽถ

My favourite serie I watched ๐Ÿ“บ:

Amar es para siempre

I watch this Spanish serie every day of the week in the evening with my mother. We love it. This serie is already so many years on television. Love is forever is the title in English. It’s about different families and things happen. Right now, I love the story of Lusita and Amelia which is a lesbian couple. They are so cute together ๐Ÿ‘ญ๐ŸŒˆ. I love this story as it’s important for society to accept that love is love.

This serie is played in the 80s where in Spain society was still not so open for it so they have to hide all the time. I’m curious how the story will go. There’s also another story in this serie of a toxic relationship where a man called Gabriel is trying to make Natalia falling in love with him. She’s in love with his brother. It’s very complicated and Gabriel is really such a dangerous man. I hope she can escape and it will end well. We will see ๐Ÿค—

My favourite movie I watched ๐ŸŽฌ:

Valentine’s Day

I didn’t see this movie in a long time and I love it so much. It’s one of my favourite movies. It was the right time to see it this month ๐Ÿ’—. I love the actors so much such as Ashton Kutcher, Anne Hathaway, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift, Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts. Those are my favourites ๐Ÿ’•. I also loved the songs in the movie so much such as “Today was a fairytale” and “Jump then fall” by Taylor Swift. I always listened to these songs when I was in love and I still love them. I also love the song “Stay here forever” from Jewel so much. I like all the stories in this movie so much. At the end you never know how things will go but we all deserve good love.

DVD of Valentine's Day

My favourite gifts/things I got ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽ:

Valentine’s Day gifts

I may not have a romantic Valentine but I have my mommy who always gives me presents on Valentine’s Day ๐ŸŒน. She makes me happy and feel less lonely on this day. It’s a day to celebrate love in all it’s forms. I love her so much. She’s the most important person in my life. She bought me delicious chocolate, a lavender bath bomb, a cute card and a bag. I also got the magazine Happinez which is a nice magazine full of wisdom, self care and self love tips. She got it for free from a woman in the shop who didn’t want it hahah better for me ๐Ÿ˜‚ I also gave some chocolate and presents to my best friend. She also gave me a card and a lovely present.

Receiving letters and a dress ๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿ‘—:

I received a pen pal letter from my good friend Mollie which I met on Instagram. I love to receive letters so much. I also received a beautiful letter from one of my blogging best friends Chloe. I also bought a white dress from Daphne which I also met on Instagram. It was just โ‚ฌ10 and I really love that dress. It’s perfect for this Spring and Summer time ๐ŸŒžโค๏ธ I love you all so much. Receiving something always makes me so happy.

My favourite trip we booked ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธโœˆ๏ธ:

Flight tickets to Spain

My father booked the flight tickets for me and my mother to go to Spain in March ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒป. I can’t wait to go again as I have missed it so much. I’m already two months in The Netherlands. I can never stay too long in The Netherlands ๐Ÿ˜‚ I really feel sad and lonely this time. Sunshine makes me feel happy and less anxious. I feel like I lack so much energy these days to do anything.

I need the sunshine โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ. I can’t wait to see my Spanish friends again and eat delicious tapas. I also am thinking of planning a trip to the beach and I would love to surf soon again. I just can’t wait to go away.

Quote of travelling with a map and airplane

My favourite food I have eaten ๐Ÿด:

Pancakes made by my daddy

Typical pancakes in The Netherlands are called pannenkoeken. I love the homemade pancakes made by my daddy so much! He always makes the best ones ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅž๐ŸดโœŒ๏ธ They were so delicious mmm.

Lunch at Cups and Leafs in Haarlem with my bestie ๐Ÿ’•

I finally saw my bestie after three months! ๐Ÿ˜ I love Socialdeal. You can find on this website great discounts to eat in a restaurant. We had a delicious lunch at Cups and Leafs in Haarlem. It’s such a cute and cozy place. I love those kinds of lunch/tea places so much. We enjoyed a delicious tomato soup, a delicious bread with mozzarella, pesto, rucola and cherry tomatoes and a dessert. I had a chocolate dessert with biscuits and marshmallows and my bestie had a salt dessert. I had to take mine to home as I was so full ๐Ÿ˜‚. For drinks we enjoyed a delicious sunny berry juice and I had a wildberries smoothie. It was all so delicious! I can’t wait to go again. I love you ๐Ÿ’—

Drinking healthy smoothies, tomato soup and bread with mozzarella, pesto and rucola with my best friend in Cups of Leafs in Haarlem

Tapas night at Tapasbar El Pincho in Haarlem with my friends ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ˜‹

I had such a great night on the 24th of February with my friends. My bestie and her girlfriend, two other good friends from my studies and one other friend I know came. I’m happy to finally meet up with a group of friends as it’s so much fun. We ate delicious Spanish tapas. This restaurant is so good as I already ate here two times and keep going back with my friends ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค—. We ate bread with tapanade and aioli, tortilla, jamรณn serrano, champignons, aubergine, vegetable croquettes, vegetables, olives, patatas bravas, and so much more. As dessert I had crema catalana which I love so much ๐Ÿ’• You could also choose pie with ice cream. Spanish vibes always ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ

Friends who love food are the best friends you can ask for ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸดWe laughed and talked so much. I’m so grateful to have you all in my life. There was even a time my face hurt because of smiling and laughing so hard hahah that’s always a good sign of having fun. Friends forever ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’ƒLove you all so much ๐Ÿ˜˜

Tea and apple pie at the Restaurant Cruquius with my mother

I enjoyed a nice bike ride with my mother in our park ๐Ÿšฒ. It was sunny and about 12 degrees ๐ŸŒž. Flowers are already growing in our garden. Spring time is coming soon. I can’t wait for Spring to finally arrive! ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’ I’m so done with the cold winter brrrrrr. We went to the restaurant Cruquius to drink a delicious mint tea & apple pie with cream! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹ I have to go outside more and move more because it’s so good for your physical and mental health.

Other things I did ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿต:

Seeing my oldest brother and his wife – Family time ๐Ÿ‘ช

I’m happy that I saw my oldest brother Rafael and Vรฉronica twice this month. We live 10/15 minutes away by car from them. One time me and my mother went to their apartment to drink a delicious mint tea and eat some cookies. The other time they went to our home to drink a tea with me and my parents and ate apple pie. It was nice to see them again. They also brought delicious chocolate for Easter ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ˜‹. I miss seeing my brothers. I wish to see my other brother, his wife and niece also soon. The last time we saw them was with Christmas ๐ŸŽ„.

Took a lavender bath ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ›€

My mother bought me a bath bomb of lavender for Valentine’s Day. I used it for the bath. It was so amazing. I love the colour, the smell and it’s just so relaxing ๐Ÿ˜.

Applying for internships/Summer job and facing my fear

I applied to do an internship in a 5 stars hotel in Spain in a village near to Valladolid. It would be for 6 months. I would earn โ‚ฌ250. It’s such a beautiful hotel. I loved looking to all the pictures online. It was a monastery and is totally restaurated. It has a spa, inside swimming pool and outside too. It’s a luxe hotel and is famous because of the vine yards ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ‡. I thought why not give an internship a try. The only thing is that for me it’s also important that I have Summer holidays as it’s the only time of the year I’m happy to enjoy the beach, swim in the ocean, have time with my friends, going to concerts, go surfing and travelling. I will have to mention that.

I was so anxious to do the Skype interview three weeks ago. I woke up with high anxiety and took a medication benzo to have less anxiety. That helped a lot as I was feeling so nauseous and bad. I was close to crying. It went very well as usually when I’m anxious to do something stressful. There were two people from the hotel interviewing me. I answered all the questions. I talked about my studies and I also talked in English. The only bad thing is that they would have to give me accommodation and food as it’s too far from our home there. However, I feel more safe in my home so I don’t know if I will feel comfortable in the hotel. You also need a certificate from your university and since I’m not studying anymore that would be impossible to get. Maybe, they don’t consider it important anymore. I got an email back last week that they want to do a personal interview when I’m in Spain. I guess that’s a good sign. I’m also so anxious to do that as I haven’t done that before. I’m just happy and proud of myself of facing my anxiety rather than always hiding from my fears ๐Ÿ’ช

I also applied for another internship at a 5 stars hotel in Valladolid. That’s also a spa hotel. There you would earn โ‚ฌ400 and they could even hire you when you finish your internship. I applied to do a Summer job too which is to help at a surf school and surf camp in the north of Spain in Cantabria. You would get accommodation and food in return of working a few hours. You can also go surfing which is what I really want to do soon. It’s been way too long! ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ I will wait for all the answers. All of these things will not make me rich haha ๐Ÿ˜‚ but it’s worth the experience. What do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you all for reading my February favourites post. I hope you all enjoy it. It’s nice to focus on all the positive things during a month rather than always staying with the bad things. It’s much easier to think negative than positive. What were your favourites of my list? Do you also love to eat in a restaurant as much as I do? ๐Ÿ˜‹๐ŸดWhat did you enjoy last month? Let me know. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

xoxo Christina

10 reasons why I love Spring so much ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒป

Hey lovelies ๐Ÿ’•,

It was finally feeling like Spring in Spain two weeks ago. Now, it’s again cold….. like 14 maxium and 3 degrees as minium. In a few days, Spring time will come again yeahhh with 25 degrees every damn day. This blog post will be about the 10 reasons why I love spring so much together with some beautiful pictures I made two weeks ago in Valladolid. I enjoy Spring so much. I love Spring because of so many different reasons. You can hear the birds whispering. Life is getting warmer and I just love nature in Spring so much. We let the cold of the winter go and embrace the warm days. How is Spring in your country? Whatโ€™s your favourite thing of Spring? I would love to know all about it ๐Ÿ˜„

5857aaeb83ec56b1030c4e4d27d5312d

These are the reasons why I love Spring so much:

Beautiful flowers

I love that in Spring all the flowers are going to grow and blossom. The dark winter is over. Life is beginning again. The earth feels so fresh. Everywhere you go you can see beautiful flowers. I love flowers and I’m a hippie girl haha. I always love to wear clothes with flowers and a flower headband in my hair. My favourite flowers are sun flowers, daisies, cherry blossoms, tulips, roses and violets. I love all flowers so much haha but those are my favourites. In The Netherlands you can also see this beautiful flowers blossom especially the famous Dutch tulips. There’s a park in The Netherlands which is called Keukenhof where you can see all these beautiful flowers especially the tulips. It’s one of the world’s largest flower gardens. It’s really touristic and so amazing to see! The best time to go is in May.

Keukenhof in The Netherlands where I went a few years agoย

Some weeks ago I went to take a walk and I saw this beautiful daisies in Valladolid

Cute clothes

I love that I don’t have to wear so many clothes such as in Winter. I find it really irritating to wear so much clothes. Life is so much easier when it’s getting warmer. I love that I can wear again cute shirts, dresses and skirts in Spring. It takes me less time to dress up. I love to wear also hippie clothes which fits perfectly for this weather. You can see my lovely flowers shirt from Bershka on the pictures below.

Ice creams

I love Spring because I enjoy eating delicious ice creams. My favourite ice creams are italian ice cream. I just love all the flavours so much. I can eat an ice cream every day and then I’m the happiest girl in the world โค๐Ÿ‘ Last week I ate one with chocolate. Chocolate ice cream is one of my favourite flavours. Which one is your favourite?

30707222_10209334418717209_5343620266108911616_o

Milkshakes & Smoothies

I love milkshakes and smoothies so much. I love to make my own smoothies at home with fruits, ice cream and cream. I love to eat milkshakes too. I ate two last week. One with my friends and another one with my mother. I love the strawberry flavour but my favourite flavour is definitely chocolate!

Days are longer

I love that days are longer in Spring. I don’t like that in Winter it’s already dark at 5 p.m. I like that there’s much more day light than in Winter. Sunshine makes me so happy. It’s really important for our health. It has definitely a great effect on our mood. Besides, the Vitamin D from the sun is really important for us. Of course, we have to take care of our body skin when we are tanning. In The Netherlands there is way less sunshine than in Spain. Mainy days it’s rainy and grew and I dislike this weather so much.

Warm weather

I like the warm weather in Spring. I really like that the temperature is just perfect, not too cold and not too hot. 25 degrees is for me the best temperature. I can be okay with 30 degrees too but when it’s getting 40 degrees I’m really feeling bad. I love Summer too but I can’t cope during those really hot days in Valladolid. This city is one hour from Madrid by train and is in the middle of Spain which isn’t so hot as the south hahah. I like to be able to sleep. Sometimes in Summer there are days where it’s just impossible to sleep well because of the hot weather. Spring has just the best temperature.

Being more outside

During the cold Winter months we enjoy to drink a cup of tea with some blankets. We are more inside our warm home. I love that when finally Spring arrive I enjoy being outside more and I love to take walks in the nature with my friends or family. During that time I take pictures, sometimes read a book and just enjoy all this earth has to offer us. I like to feel the warm sunshine on my skin.

I took this pictures a few weeks ago when I walking in the park near to my house.ย I love my shirt “Happiness looks gorgeous on you” from Carrefour. The sunshine makes me so happy to be outside and take a walk ๐Ÿ˜„ The right picture below is from Tuesday when I went for a walk with my Spanish friends Maria and Maria ๐Ÿ’•

My birthdayย

This is really a personal reason why I love Spring so much. My birthday is in one month omgggg I will be 25, a quarter of a century. I love that my birthday is on the first of June ๐ŸŽ‰.ย It’s basically the transitition time almost from Spring to Summer. I remember that it’s always sunny on my birthday. Let’s hope that this year it will also be sunny and around 20 – 25 degrees. That would be perfect for me to wear a cute dress and take pictures.

Festivals & concerts

Two years ago I went to Surfana festival in The Netherlands with my best friend. I never went before to a festival that lasted a few days because I don’t like to be in the crowd that much. It cause me anxiety. This was such a great festival because it was not such a big one. We all had space to dance and to enjoy the music. I stayed a few days on the camping. I really loved it. I didn’t like that we had some german people who were extremely loud at 2 a.m. in the morning with music They were promoting Jagermeister haha. I enjoyed this festival so much because it was a special festival. The music genre was surf music, reggea and indie. I just love this music style so much. You could do so many awesome things on the festival too. You could eat food from different countries. We also went surfing, did yoga, did a class of learning more about our mind, wine tasting and carved a sea horse. It was really amazing! We also wanted to watch the stars one day and they would tell us all about astrology but they suspended the class because there were too many clouds. I can’t wait to go again to this awesome festival which took place in the dunes near to the beach ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ˜ I also love to go to concerts during the Summer months and especially love the outdoor concerts.

I went to Surfana festival in June of 2016 with my best friend Donya. I loved the good vibes, music and the awesome things I did such as yoga, surfing and drinking a piรฑa colada from a coconut. You can see my favourite hippie clothes from Iwearsin on the pictures yeahhh.

Closer to Summer

My favourite season ever is Summer. When the temperature is getting warmer and days are getting longer we know we are in the right direction. When it’s finally Spring I really look forward to Summer. Even though I don’t like the really hot days in Spain I still enjoy those warm Summer months so much. After the dark winter we appreciate it more.

Thank you all so much for reading this post. Do you like Spring as much as I do? What’s your favourite season? I hope you all have a wonderful and beautiful Spring time! I’ll talk to you all in my next blog post.

Much love โคโคโค,

I made this collage for you all๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ‡

We always decorate our home in The Netherlands and now we do it too in Spain. Itโ€™s typical Dutch to decorate your home with bunnies, chickens and painted easter eggs. Itโ€™s also typical to paint Easter eggs. This is such an amazing thing to do with kids and together with your family. This symbolize the Spring time. Here are some pictures from some decorations at home in Spain.

In the Netherlands itโ€™s also typical to have like a Easter bunny who brings presents haha which are of course the parents. My mother bought me a present and I opened it yesterday. It was a beautiful basket with chocolate easter eggs ๐Ÿ’œ So delicious! I also loved the fake flower decoration on the present. In Spain itโ€™s typical to eat during the Holy Week โ€œpostres penitentesโ€ which you can see on the picture below. During the Holy Week there are many processions in Spain by different religious brotherhoods. This sweets represents the brotherhoods. They have all different clothes on just like you can see on the picture. Those sweets are made by cream and chocolate. It was so delicious! ๐Ÿ‘Œ

On the left picture you can see the easter eggs which I got as present from my mother for Easter. On the right in the collage you can see the sweets “postre penitentes” which I ate during this Holy Week. On the right picture you can see a picture of myself. I finally could wear this flower shirt for Spring time ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ’

Yesterday night I also enjoyed Easter with my friend Maria. We went to one of my favourite bars in Valladolid called Bar La Alhambra. We ate some delicious tapas. We ate a pincho moruno with some bread and potatoes and a hamburger. We drank a red mosto. This is a typical Spanish drink which is made by grapes. Itโ€™s like grape juice and itโ€™s very trasty. I enjoy to drink this a lot in the Summer and any time over the year. Itโ€™s such a refreshing drink! I had a great night with my friend.

Tapas night with my friend! Hamburger, pincho moruno and a mosto ๐Ÿ˜„

Today I will continue eating all those delicious sweets haha but not too much. If I eat too much chocolate I will get sick ๐Ÿ˜‚. Thank you all for reading this blog post. I will talk to you all soon. Enjoy Easter if itโ€™s still Easter in your country. If not, Happy Monday! ๐Ÿ’œ

Much love ๐Ÿ’•,

Holy Week in Valladolid & Happy Easter to you all! ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ’

Hey lovely bloggers ๐Ÿ’ž,

I want to thank you all for the lovely comments on my last blog post. I really feel so loved by this beautiful blogging community. I love you all so much โค Thank you for always being there for me. In the end, everything was well. I always think that somebody is angry at me when they talk a bit loud. I know my family is sometimes just worried about me but sometimes it makes me feel overwhelmed. It’s my life after all. Itโ€™s just that Iโ€™m really sensitive for these situations. I have to learn to let it all go. Today, I want to talk about the Holy Week in Valladolid: Semana Santa. This week is really so beautiful.

ssanta-valladolid-2018

I was sick last week with gastroenteritis. I felt really so bad so I couldnโ€™t see so much of the Holy Week in Valladolid but Iโ€™m glad that I still could enjoy some beautiful processions this week. The Holy Week is really an important week in Spain. The most important cities with the most beautiful processions are Valladolid and Sevilla. You can also see these processions on Spanish television. During this week there are many processions in the city of Valladolid from different brotherhoods. They are carrying religious statues, pray and play music. Itโ€™s such a beautiful artwork. On Tuesday 27 March, I went to the Plaza Mayor of Valladolid with my mother and I bought tickets to see the Passion Procession on Good Friday. I also entered some churches and saw the artwork. It was a really good day of sunshine and it was the first Spring day! ๐ŸŒž I loved the 20 degrees and I love to wear a flower headband hihi I’m a hippie girl forever โœŒ๐ŸŒป. In the evening I was about to go to see a procession with my parents but I felt a bit dizzy and nauseous because of being sick for a week so I went home. My mother went alone to see some other processions in the city.

On Wednesday 28 March, I felt better and I was so excited to see some beautiful procession in the evening with my mother and my lovely friend Maria. In the evening I went to the city centre where I saw a beautiful procession. This was the first procession which I saw which is named โ€œLa cofradia de las siete palabrasโ€. In this procession they carried โ€œSantisimo Cristo de las Mercedesโ€. My good friend Javi was playing in the music band. I loved how everybody is in silence and watching in awe these processions. This procession took place at 23.00 oโ€™clock in the evening and at 00.00 oโ€™clock we went to another procession near to our house. It was a bit crowdy which made me feel a bit anxious but I could cope with it hahah xD. This procession was named โ€œProcesiรณn de la piedadโ€. It was a long one where they carried three religious statues: โ€œCristo de la humildadโ€, โ€œCristo de la cruz a Marรญaโ€ & โ€œLa quinta angustia.โ€ I loved the Maria one. I also loved that they played the Spanish hymn. Viva Espaรฑa, olรฉ! โค

These are pictures from the first procession which I saw on wednesday 28th of March with my mother and my friend Maria. This was the “Cofradia de las siete palabras” where they carried the religious statue Santisimo Cristo de las Mercedes.” On the right picture you can see the music band playing. My friend Javi is playing and you can see him on the left.

These are pictures from the second procession which I saw on wednesday 28th of March with my mother and my friend Maria. This was the “Procesiรณn de la piedad.โ€ It was such a long one where they carried three religious statues: โ€œCristo de la humildadโ€, โ€œCristo de la cruz a Marรญaโ€ & โ€œLa quinta angustia.”

This is a video of Youtube where you can see the proncession “Procesiรณn de la piedad.”

On Good Friday, the 30th of March we had tickets to see the Passion Procession at the Plaza Mayor at 19.30 until 22.30. We had seats. It was โ‚ฌ10. I was about to see it with my parents and my friend Maria. This is the most important procession during the whole Holy Week. You can see all the 20 brotherhoods together with 33 religious statues in Valladolid. Unfortunately, it was canceled because of the rain. I also checked the weather and it was going to rain at this time. I was really sad about it. It was so cold, rainy and there was so much wind. I can really understand that they canceled it because most of these 33 pasos (religious statues) date from the 16th and the 17th centuries. Rain would destroy this beautiful artwork. Hopefully, I will enjoy it next year. Last year it was my first time experiencing Semana Santa in Valladolid and I was so in awe and I still am. Itโ€™s so beautiful and Iโ€™m glad I could enjoy some beautiful procession this week. Itโ€™s a beautiful museum outside! ๐Ÿ’ž

This is a video which I found on Youtube from the Passion Procession on Good Friday last year. You can see me at minute 0:05 – 0:09. I’m sitting almost on the last stage on the right. I’m wearing a pink shirt and have a pink flower headband. Next to me is sitting my friend with a blue shirt and my mother. All the 20 brotherhoods are carrying 33 religious statues which date from the 16th and 17th centuries. This is an impression of how I experienced this beautiful and most important procession of Holy Week โค

The Passion Procession was canceled on Good Friday so my parents, my friend Maria and I went to a bar near to our house. I enjoyed chocolate with churros. This is typical Spanish. Has anyone tried this? Itโ€™s really delicious. I also enjoyed a camille tea which is called manzanilla in Spanish. This was the perfect time to drink something warm because of the rain and cold weather. Afterwards, I went to some churches with my mother and my friend Maria. You could see the religious statues in the churches. We went to see the artwork in the churches Las Angustias & La Vera Cruz. My mother went home and I was walking a lot of with my friend. In the evening I ate a delicious slice of pizza in a bar. We also went to a bar to meet up with a friend who was with some polish girls. They are doing an Erasmus in Valladolid. It was really nice to talk with them. I love to meet international people so much and be in contact with many different cultures. At 23.00 oโ€™clock we went home.

On Good Friday I was walking with my friend Maria to Plaza Zorilla where there is a beautiful fountain. I also enjoyed chocolate with churros with my family and my friend & pizza as dinner with my friend Maria mmmmm โค I’m loving it!

On Good Friday we visited the churches Las Angustias & La Vera Cruz and saw some beautiful religious artwork.

Yesterday night my mother was going to the Easter Vigil in the cathedral of Valladolid. I have never been to the Cathedral in Valladolid. Itโ€™s a service held in traditional Christian churches as the first official celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus. The light up a fire, pray and sing. I used to be in the choir in The Netherlands and sing during this evening. Today there were again some processions. They were in the morning hahah so I didnโ€™t go but my mother went. They were letting some white pigeons fly in the city and all people wear white clothes. Itโ€™s the sign of the Resurrection of Jesus.

Iโ€™m encouraging anybody who is going to Spain to visit the Holy Week. The most important cities are Sevilla and Valladolid. The Holy Week in Valladolid is full of art, music and religion combined. In Valladolid the people are more in silence where in Sevilla the people are singing on the streets. I think you experience it on a different level but itโ€™s beautiful everywhere.

I wish you all a happy Easter! ๐Ÿ˜ May love, light and happiness find your way. Enjoy it a lot with your family and friends. In The Netherlands itโ€™s typical to eat chocolate Easter eggs. I really liked to eat that delicious chocolate. You can also find it in the shops in Spain right now. What are your traditions during Holy Week/Easter? โคย I would love to know about it.

Love you all so much ๐Ÿ’ž,
