It’s still Summer in my head lol 🌞. I still need to write some posts about Summer haha. At least then I can still enjoy Summer. Nowadays all I see is rain and a grey sky in Holland. I miss Summer so much 😭. I hate the Winter months. It also makes me feel low and depressed at times. I had so much fun in August. I enjoyed the swimming pool many times, I ate a delicious amount of food in Spain, had fun with my friends and more which you can read below. August is only about food mostly haha I love it.
Things I did with my lovely family 👪:
Going to the swimming pool 🏊
I LOVE swimming so much! 😍💕 I already miss swimming so much. It’s so good for your physical and mental health. I went seven days to the swimming pool. I went some days with my mamita and also some days with my lovely Spanish friend. I also enjoyed eating some snacks, bread and reading some books and magazines on the grass. Those Summer days going to the pool are definitely what make my Summer complete. I wanted to go more days but I couldn’t because of my period and I also had to go to the dentist for my wisdom teeth removal. Swimming makes me feel so happy and relaxing. I can’t wait to swim again soon. I’m a mermaid forever 🧜♀️.
Eating a delicious ice cream 🍧
I love to eat ice creams from Iborra which is the famous ice shop in Valladolid. It’s SO damn delicious. It’s all natural. I always love the flavour white chocolate and mint chocolate chip ice cream. I love it so much!! We also made some nice pictures on the beautiful main square of Valladolid.
Milkshake time 💕
My favourite milkshake is the chocolate one with whipped cream. Aaaah it’s so delicious mmmm!! 😍 I like to eat it on La Plaza Mayor with mamita. She always drinks a camille tea. My mother also ate a delicious apple pie. It was a beautiful Summer night to spend the evening on a terrace outside.
Meeting up with Jairo and his mother 💖
We finally saw the mother of Verónica and Jairo. My brother didn’t come to Spain this Summer because of the pandemic. It was nice to see them and drinking something together. I hope that soon we can all be together again and celebrate life. I find it hard to not be all together again. That makes this time hard because all we want is just to be around our loved ones. That’s what makes life worth living. I hope those times will come soon again 🙏.
Eating a delicious tortilla at Erchus 😍
A typical Spanish food I love is tortilla de patata. It’s an omelete of eggs and potatoes. I also drank a delicious mosto which is grape juice and we got some free chips. I love the new restaurant Erchus so much. It looks pretty cool now with the letters and the new interior.
Delicious dinner at Elany 🍴
Elany is my favourite restaurant ever in Valladolid. I always come there so much. The owners are so sweet. It’s nice to go to places where you know the people 💞. That evening we ate some delicious croquettes with grape juice and we got free tortilla de patata with the Spanish flag 🇪🇸 haha. I always carry those ones home.
Pancakes in El Corte Inglés 🥞
El Corte Inglés has so much delicious food always. We ate delicious pancakes with whipped cream and warm chocolate sauce 🍫💞. My mother had some bread with fish and a delicious glass of red wine. I drank a camille tea. I love the view from the restaurant so much. You can see whole Valladolid. The restaurant is on the last floor which is the sixth floor.
Beautiful sunset in the park Las Moreras 🌇
I love Summer sunsets so much 🌞. I went for a beautiful walk many times with my mother and we saw a beautiful sunset. The sky was stunning. I loved the colours blue, pink and it even looked purple too. We don’t need much in life. I was in awe watching it. We went for a beautiful walk along the river and just enjoyed the view. It’s those little moments in life which counts so much ✨.
Walks in nature 🌲🌳
We spend some more time just enjoying nature and watching the beautiful view from the river. I love it so much. It’s so calming to watch the stillness of the water. Afterwards, we had a delicious dinner at Erchus. I loved the sandwich mixto with potatoes and a mosto. My mother drank a camille tea and got some free churros and olives. It was all delicious like always.
Things I did with my lovely friends 💖:
Having dinner with my lovely friend 💙
I enjoy eating dinner again at Elany. We always eat there. It’s cheap and delicious so why change from place?! I love my favourite restaurants so much. We eat some delicious croquettes with bread and some grape juice. It was so nice to be able to see friends again. I missed you so much amiguita mia. I love you forever. I’m so grateful to have such great people in my life who love me for the way I’m.
Other amazing things of August 💞:
New shirt from Azabache 👕
I love the new shirt I bought from my favourite shop Azabache. I have so many clothes from them. I love those hippie clothes. This white shirt is perfect for beautiful Summer days. I love the motives. It’s too cold now to wear it but maybe I can just wear it at home lol.
Watched The Greatest Showman 🎬
I got this beautiful DVD from my daddy for my birthday 😍. I already saw this movie once and it was amazing to see it again. This movie is SO GOOOOD!!!! It’s just so wonderful made. The songs are amazing 🎶. My favourite song is ”This is me”. It reminds me of the time I got bullied during high school. This is me and I’m enough the way I’m. ”I am brave, I am bruised, I am who I’m meant to be, this is me.”Those lyrics just hit me so much. No sharp words will put me down. I also love Zac Efron in this movie and just all the actors. Hugh Jackman is amazing. It’s just so important to know that we all matter in this world no matter how we look like, which gender we have, race or nationality or whatever. We are meant to be in this world and deserve all the love and happiness. If you want to watch a feel good movie then this one will be perfect for you. I also got emotional just watching this beautiful movie and hearing the songs.
Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope you liked it. Have you also watched The Greatest Showman? Which food of my post would you love to try? Do you also love to go swimming? What did you do in August? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
I’m finally back in Spain since last Tuesday. I CRY BECAUSE I MISSED IT SOOOO MUCH 😍🥺🥰. Just writing this makes me cry again and gets me so emotional. I’m behind some other posts but I think I’m not going to write them anymore. I have been feel a bit stressed about my blog lately like I have to blog about this, not miss this and it’s not good. I’m always a perfectionist so when I finally do something after procastinating then I want to do it good. I prefer quality blog posts then just posts for the sake of it. This blog post will be about my journey to Spain, how I feel, things I have on my mind and how things are right now due to this pandemic. I really missed having a good chat with you guys. This post is basically going to be a rant haha 😂. I hope you will like it.
I can’t believe we are already in August like wtf this year is the longest and the shortest ever 😳. How do you feel about it? So much has happened in the world these months because of the pandemic. I really imagine myself cheering the new year last year and we all didn’t know what was about to come. It makes me feel bittersweet though. I don’t know how to feel about a new year coming because I don’t know what we have to except. The best thing is having no expectations and just going with the flow. I read a beautiful quote a few days ago which said that so much can happen in 6 months which is true. So, I hope these last 5 months will turn out fine or better than these last months.
In my life, not that much has happened. I still have no job but right now it’s even more difficult to find one related to what I studied. I studied European Studies which is a broad study with a wide range of subjects such as marketing, languages, international relations and politics. I also really find myself thinking of how I would love to make a living out of writing. I crave it so badly. I also love doing yoga, reading, travelling, singing and surfing so much. I’ve also sometimes dreamt about how amazing it would be to build a surf school related to mental health problems to provide people help and support while enjoying the ocean. I can’t wait to maybe go to the beach and surf this Summer in Spain 🇪🇸🌊🏄♀️. I miss the sea so much. Maybe those dreams are wild but it would be so amazing. I still feel kinda stuck related to thinking about a career. I used to apply to some jobs in Spain but got no answer. I even did an interview for a internship and never heard back. It’s more difficult right now. I also got information to take an exam for a job in the public sector which is mandatory in Spain. I just don’t know and still feel lost after so many years. It’s normal I say to myself. Anxiety also gets in the way. Some people see it as excuse but they have no idea how hard it’s to live with it and being expected to do everyday stuff.
I also entered some writing competitions. I didn’t won the one from Barcelona. At least I tried. Besides, Barcelona is now more at risk so it’s better not to go. I will hear about the poetry contest about mental health next month. I will also maybe join another contest these days which is about my city Haarlem, in The Netherlands. They are looking for a city poet who will write for them and also earn €3000 euro each year and will even have the opportunity to publish a book about poems of Haarlem. I will join and we will see what happens next. I have already a no but you never know what may be the result.
Thanks to the pandemic which is also strange to I’m also grounding myself more and being present with all the things I have. I have been doing yoga and medititation many times in a week 🧘♀️✨. It’s so good. I feel more lost and less calm when I don’t do it. It’s been a such a healing tool and I will stick to it forever. I can’t wait to be able to have a job, save money and go to a yoga retreat in Aruba and finally meet Yoga Girl and the whole community. I love it so much. I don’t have a yoga mat here in Spain but I will use maybe a camping mat until I have one here. I crave connection so much. It’s the best. It reminds me I’m never alone and that I always have people behind me. I did a sharing circle on Zoom with Yoga Girl and more than 60 people joined a few days ago which I will share more about in my July favourites. It was so special and omg I also felt anxious and strange. I had never done it before. In real life it would be even more intense. We did a meditation and then we got a sharing partner. We had to talk about our struggles and the other person listened and didn’t give advice. It’s much more powerful then just always interrumpting a person. Rachel Brathen (Yoga Girl) said that we have our answers in our heart. These sharings are so much more powerful than anything else 💖. I got emotional when I listened and my partner too. I can’t wait to do it many more times.
I’m happy to be back in Spain but also feel mixed feelings. Nothing is normal anymore. Our trip went very well. I was so happy to go but never felt so anxious before a trip. I really didn’t like some of my family members and also a friend of my mother saying we are irresponsible to go to Spain when we are very careful. I couldn’t sleep the night before. I felt so unwell and anxious. I hate to get influenced but others because our trip went super well. We had to wear masks, do social distance and wash our hands often. Nothing new. I’m more used now to wearing a face mask almost all the time because it’s mandatory here in Spain 😷. In Holland it’s only mandatory in public transport and in a regio of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. I changed my mind and think it’s very important to wear it even though it’s a struggle in the heat. We passed the security in 15 min. We drank some tea and ate a croissant and went to the gate. Boarding was nice, the flight was great without any turbulence. There were almost no people. I watched High School Musical 🎶. I loved it. I had never watched it before.
When we landed in the airport of Madrid, they checked our QR-code which is the health paper you have to fill in before you go to Spain. Then you pass a control and there are camera’s above which check your temperature. There are also nurses there in case you are feeling bad. Everything is clean and well organised. We got our suitcases, took a taxi to the station of Madrid and there suddenly I saw my good friend Pedro and his girlfriend. I love to always meet people as a surprise. We ate delicious Spanish food with them and waited for the train. It takes one hour to go to Valladolid by the high speed train. Then we took a taxi home and in the afternoon we were safe and sound at home. I thought something would happen during the trip or I would feel more anxious. I felt more calm because everything went well. I don’t want to listen to scary stories anymore or watch too much news. We are safe and will do anything to stay safe. We can’t stay forever in our homes too.
These days I have been resting in Spain in our home, eating some delicicous tapas and just walking in nature. We also went already to the swimming pool which we love so much 🏊♀️🌞. I have to enjoy it now before I get my period which I hate even more in Summer. There’s no beach here so the pool is the best place to be. I’m just so much more happier here. It’s been so hot here, like 37 degrees. Right now, it’s 30 degrees. I love Summers in Spain so much. I really craved it. This week I will finally see my friends which I missed so much. I also saw a new restaurant with vegan food and poke bowls omggg can’t wait to try it. I will celebrate my birthday with my friends there 🎉🤗. I also saw a new yoga studio. Maybe will go there too. I also will go the hairdresser soon. I can never cut much just the death ends and my bangs because I didn’t went for like a year. I also have to go to the dentist end of month to get rid again of one wisdom teeth 🦷. I’m anxious about that again but maybe a bit less than in January. I told about my experience here. It’s still a struggle so please guys be there for me and send me love. I need it. I just know I have no other choice because I have sometimes strange feelings and pain. I can’t wait to be able to say I faced this 4 times and it went well.
I’m really happy to be here but I also feel sadness in Spain. I see elderly walking and I get emotional thinking of how many people have died here and all over the world. In Spain people are so social and always together. The Netherlands has a individualistic culture. It’s so different. You see less people and people are afraid which is normal. Night life is different too. I don’t miss fiestas so much because what I need in life is more connection and deep talks rather than being drunk all the time. It’s been ages for me and I’m really happy to have gone a different way in drinking alcohol. I don’t need to drink much to have fun. The virus is still here and we have to be careful. They are putting some villages in Valladolid in lockdown again which just means that it isn’t over. I hope you all stay safe this Summer and have fun. We are all in this together 💪🙏.
Thank you all for reading this blog post. I hope it wasn’t too boring. I hope you all liked it. What are you up to during this Summer? How are you feeling? How is your physical and mental health? What do you think of what I wrote? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
It’s again time for my favourites post! 😍 I can’t wait to share with you all the amazing things I did in July. It was a great Summer month and I wish to continue to enjoy Summer like I do. I wish Summer would never end as it always makes me so happy. I don’t enjoy heatwaves but I love the sunshine. I’m going to talk about my July favourites which includes eating delicious tapas and other food with my friends and family, going to the cinema after two years not going because of anxiety, my trip to Granada (will maybe make a travel blog post about the trip as well), swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, swimming in the pools here in Valladolid and much more amazing things.
Things I did with my family 👪 :
Going to the swimming pool 🏊🌞
I went 8 times to the swimming pool with my friend and mother. I want to go more times in August. With my friend I went the first time to the outdoor swimming pool as it was raining that day. The rest of the days I went with my friend and my mother to the outdoor swimming pool. There are a lot of outdoor swimming pools here so it’s nice to enjoy that during the hot Summer days because there’s no beach here. I swam a lot and was also reading at the swimming pool the book Everything, Everything and a Dutch psychology magazine. I also enjoyed some delicious ice creams. Swimming is so relaxing and so good for our health. Swimming all Summer long yeahhh!!! 😍
Wedding pictures 💒👰 🤵💍 💖
I finally got the pictures of my brother’s wedding from last Summer. My other brother Edward together with his wife Elke (they have a company of wedding photography) made these pictures of the wedding of Rafael and Verónica. They had to sort everything out so I finally got them and download them all. Maybe, I will do a seperate blog post about them because I want to share them all together. I will post a few of them below so that you can all have a preview. These pictures are so gorgeous and beautiful 💗👌. It brings me back only good vibes of this unforgettable day.
Granada trip with my mother 💗🌞
I just came back from Granda which is 610 km. from Valladolid and like 7 hours by bus. I love Andalucia, the south of Spain so much. My mother and I went to visit a friend of me and his family who I met during the Many Languages, One World Essay Contest in New York City in 2015. Granada is one of my favourites cities in Spain and of the whole world 😍. It gives me those hippie vibes. You see people dancing, singing and playing the guitar everywhere. The people are so friendly everywhere. The tapas are so delicious. We ate a lot of them. You just have to order a drink and then you will get a free tapa which is amazing. It’s only in Granada where that happens. It’s also very hot during the day but we chilled in our 4 stars ✨ hotel.
We enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi on the terrace of the hotel. I bought some nice souvenirs and stuff in Alle Hop which is an amazing shop and other hippie shops. We also ate delicious Italian ice creams, a delicious pizza together with a glass of sangria on the terrace of our hotel. You could see the whole city. It was such a beautiful view. The only bad thing of the trip was that I lost my squeeze animal. I got anxious and cried 😢. It just meant a lot to me because my best friend gave it for my birthday. I didn’t actually lost it but it was in my bed and the cleaners of the hotel cleaned the room and the bed so I guess they took it without knowing. I will buy a new one as I guess they won’t find it anymore.
Swimming in The Mediterranean Sea 🌊☀️🐟🐠🏊
During the trip of Granada we also went one day to the beautiful beach La Rábita which is on La Costa Tropical 😍🌞🌊🌴 The night before I couldn’t sleep so well because it was warm and felt anxious so took diazepam from my mother. It helped so that I could enjoy the beach day the next day. I already miss this beautiful beach La Rábita so much 😭 The water was a bit cold which is normally more warm but I still love it always so much. There’s nothing better than swimming in the ocean and also watching a beautiful sunset on the beach. We also had a delicious meal with the family of my friend in a restaurant. I ate gazpacho which is a cold Spanish soup, croquettes with potatoes and an ice cream. It was all so delicious 😋 .
I always miss the sea and ocean when I leave it no matter where I’m. I’m forever a beach and Summer girl. The ocean is my home and my love for the ocean is infinite. It will never leave me 💗. Human beings are made of water and salt so basically we are the ocean ourselves. The smell of the salt air, the taste of the salty sea, hearing the waves crashing on the shore, seeing the beautiful ocean and feeling the wind on my skin all creates a sense of peace and calm which can’t beat anything in this world. I’m happy I live in a world which is surrounded by beautiful oceans. The world is beautiful 🌍🌊🌊
Birthday of my brother Edward, Noanne and Lisanne 🎂🎉🎈🎁
It was my brother’s birthday on the 14th of July so I sent him a picture of us three which he can hang on the wall. That picture was made on his wedding in The Netherlands which was also a beautiful day to remember forever. My little niece Noanne turned 4 years on the 16th of July so I sent her a cute balloon 🎈 . They loved my gifts very much. I also sent the same unicorn balloon to Lisanne which is a little girl from my choir from a man. She has neuroblastoma and also leucemia now so that hit me really hard. I also wrote them a letter. I find it important to be there for others even though if I’m struggling myself. They liked it all very much which made me happy.
Watching the movie The Lion King with my mother and my good friend 🦁🎥
I went to the cinema 🎬 after two years not going with my mother and my good friend. I’ve always loved to go to the cinema with my mother and friends. You may ask why didn’t I go for such a long time?! The reason is anxiety. Two years ago when I went for the last time to watch a movie I began to feel anxious and thought that time that I was close to have a panic attack. I got scared and ended up not going anymore which is really sad. Anxiety always takes away everything I love to do in life. It’s horrible and I’m so done with it. Sometimes I have to take little steps to overcome a fear because I just can’t do it all at once like going to the dentist. I’m happy I went to watch The Lion King which is my favourite Disney movie ever yeahhh! 😍 I even have the words “Hakunamatata” on the wall in my room in The Netherlands. I also had a cover for my mobile phone of it which unfortunately all got stolen.
I loved the movie so much. The animation version is amazing but this version too. It all looks so real and is so beautiful made! Simba is so cute. I cried a lot during the movie 😭 We also enjoyed delicious popcorn. I wish to go to Africa once and see this beautiful wild life with my own eyes. The Lion King teaches me so many lessons like that everyone is afraid of something, that you can learn from your past and that it’s important to face your fears. Even though I worry so much because of anxiety I agree that Hakuna Matata is such an important life philosophy to live by. I hope I will get there one day because life is way too short to worry all day and especially of things which aren’t going to happen. It also teaches us that our lost loved ones will always be a part of us.
I’m happy I went to the movies as it’s a big recovery win 💪 because I felt anxious once two years ago during a movie doesn’t mean that it will happen again. We can all learn so much from Disney movies. I will never be too old to watch them. I can’t wait to go one day to Disneyland 💗. Magic is everywhere around us, we just have to find it in ourselves too ✨
Things I did with my lovely friends 💕:
Drinking a delicious milkshake with my friend 🍦🍨🍧
We enjoyed such a delicious milkshake! 😍🍧 I drank a chocolate milkshake and my friend had a strawberry one. I also once tried a coconut milkshake. I love them all but my fav is chocolate. Everything with chocolate is my favourite evah. I love to eat ice cream 🍦, drink milkshakes and any form of dessert. It’s much better to eat and drink this during the Summer. So refreshing & so delicious mmm! 😋
Eating at the greek restaurant and enjoying a drink on a terrace 🍴💕
After a year we ate again in Pita. gr, griegos artesanos in Valladolid. It’s one of my favourites restaurants in Valladolid. I love Greek food so much 😍🇬🇷 I wish to go one day! The food is cheap and soooo delicious 😋. Also the service is very good and fast. They always explain what everything is. We ate delicious mezzes with pita bread. My favourite sauce is the yoghurt and the one with feta. We also loved the delicious Greek lemonade. We also ate musakas with salad and more pita bread. As dessert we tried something different this time which was baklavas with nuts and yoghurt. It was so damn delicious. We loved it all so much! We will be back soon again yeah yeah yeah!
After eating a delicious Greek dinner on that Friday night I went to a terrace with my friends. We also got some delicious sweets. I love chuches 🍬. It was pretty cold afterwards. The nights here in Valladolid can be cold and yes even during the Summer 😂❄️ It was 15 degrees that night brrr.
Eating tapas and delicious ice cream rolls with my friends 🍦💕
It was nice to see my lovely friend Iris again after a year together with Maria. We tried for the first time ice cream rolls omggg it’s so delicious 😋 I have always seen this popular ice cream on Instagram and was very curious to try it. Sometimes a hype can be overrated but this was definitely as good as it looks! 😍👌Mine was with strawberries and as topping white chocolate. My friends had one with strawberries, oreos and white chocolate. I can’t wait to try another one again! Afterwards, we ate some delicious tapas. I love to eat croquettes and a mosto which is grape juice in the popular bar El Corcho. We also loved the solomillo al roquefort in another famous bar called La Tasquita. Spanish food is just da best! 💗 Viva España 🇪🇸, oleeee!
Hot Summer night with my friend and mother 🌞🔥
I enjoyed some delicious Spanish food with my friend Maria. We ate a delicious pincho moruno with potatoes and tortilla at my favourite restaurant called Elany. When we drink a mosto we always get a free tapa which was chorizo this time. I love the owners which are from Romania so much. My family knows them so much and it’s so great to have your fav restaurant 5 min from your home. One time we also got a free flan 🍮. I also love to always give them a tip.
Afterwards, my mamita and I enjoyed a manzanilla tea 🍵 and a mosto at La Plaza Mayor. It was 38 degrees the whole day so it was too hot to be inside. It was nice to be at a terrace during the night as the temperature was cooling down. Global warming is not something fake. It’s so real and I’m experiencing it right now in Spain. It’s never been so hot and so crazy weather during the Summer. We can all do something to save this planet 🌍🙏 One day it will be too late….
Other amazing things of July ❤️:
Finished reading the book Everything, Everything 📚
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH 😍. I will post a good review about it soon together with some other books I’ve read. I already talked about this book on my last blog post. I’ve never read a bookso fast. I finished it in two weeks whoehoeeee.
Receiving awesome pen pal letters 🖋️
I loved the snail mail I got from Vikki, Rosie, Danielle, and my lovely blogging friendChloe. Thank you all so much. I really love to receive amazing letters especially from such lovely people as you all are. I also loved the post so much from Sophia. I loved the quotes and especially the unicorn writing paper 🦄 as it’s difficult to find here. I loved the postcard from my best friend from Crete so much too ❤️.
Last but not least, I also loved the post from Barbara so much. She also sent me some lovely presents for my birthday which was the first of June. I loved the Disney paper and bag somuch. I especially loved the mermaid vibes passport holder. I always wanted that. The edible unicorn wafers are amazing too and the unicorn holder. Thank you all so much for everything! I’m so grateful to know you all. I love you all so much 💖
Watched the movie Campeones 🎬
I watched this movie on the bus trip to Granada. I already wanted to watch this movie for so long. It’s a beautiful Spanish movie. I cried so much 😍😭. It’s about a trainer of basketball who get a punishment of driving too hard because of drinking alcohol. He then has to train a team which all have sindrome of down. I think this Spanish movie is so important. It’s all about love, friendships and inclusion. We all deserve to feel equal and be treated as persons. We all deserve the same opportunities in life no matter what 🙏. This movie also won the prize of best Spanish movie 2019. There was also a beautiful sentence said in the movie which was: “You treated us as humans.” “Because you are humans”. I wish there would be more movies like this one because they are so necessary. We are all equal, always remember that.
Thank you all for reading this blog post. What did you do in July? What are your favourites from my list? Do you have any Summer trips planned? Let me know lovelies. I will speak to you all in my next blog post.
Happy new year to you all! In this post I will talk about my 2018 and will show you how I celebrated New Year’s Eve. I’m glad I don’t have a cold amymore but just tonight I got my period so yeah that also sucks I’m glad I take medication for the cramps because otherwise I wouldn’t survive it. Besides, I’m also being anxious about my appointment of getting one of my wisdom teeth pulled out this week. I keep postponing the appointment. I know I have to do it but I’m so scared. H e l p. I also don’t want to do it in Holland. Here in Spain it’s much cheaper and the dentist understands my anxiety but I’m still so afraid and I just feel like I can’t cope. If anyone have some more tips to survive it I will be forever grateful I can always take medication for anxiety if that’s enough to help me cope with it.
We are already in 2019. A year has flown by. As usually I want to reflect on my year with this post and also write some important things for you all. Every year has its ups and downs. Every year consists of good things and bad things which happen to us. The most important thing is how we react to all these things. I know how hard it’s to stay positive in this sometimes dark world. I just keep believing that there are so many good things in the world and that there are indeed so many good people. You just have to find your tribe. I’m so glad I did.
I’m so happy with my blogging community, mental health community, Yoga Girl community and the goddess revolution community. I’m thankful that I joined these communities this year. They made me feel less alone and so much happier. If I’m in Holland I will maybe go to a meet up with some yoga girls. I also really wish that we will continue to all be friends and hopefully one day we will all meet I know the universe brought us all together for a reason which is to be connected with awesome people, share our struggles and feel supported.
I learned a lot this year. I learn every day from this world. This year I realized that there are truly lovely people who care about you and want you to be happy. I learned that it’s better to have a few good friends than a million of fake friends. The ones who love you will always be there for you no matter what. I learned that true love exists when I saw my brother getting married in August in Spain. I learned that this life is an adventure. Sometimes we win and sometimes we loose. We learn from every experience. I also learned that it’s okay if I’m not where I want to be in life. I still have a long way to go. I will find a career I love and will keep growing. It all takes time, pacience and trust in myself. I have to love myself, believe in myself and know that I can make my dreams come true such as working and living in Spain
I also went to my first feminist strike in Valladolid, in Spain on International Women’s Day on the 8th of March with my mother. This was such an empowerful event. I never went to a demonstration before. I really wish 2019 will be the year that less women will be suffering from violence. I wish that women and men have the same human rights. Together we are starting a revolution. This is just the beginning. 2019 will be the year where women can be themselves, love themselves and love each other
This year I also learned that music is the best thing in life I would be lost without music. I went to so many amazing concerts such as the Operación Triunfo 2017 concert in Madrid with my friend Maria Operación Triunfo makes me so happy and full of life. I also enjoyed the concert of Pablo Alboran, Chenoa, Hombres G and Celtas Cortos with my mother in Valladolid. I also enjoyed so much the concert of Sofia Ellar with my friend Maria. I can’t wait to see her again. It was so lovely to meet Sofia and get a picture with her. She’s the best and I can’t wait to see her singing again
This year I began to read again a lot which I loved to do so much when I was younger. I will continue reading this new year. I also kept writing and being creative. I hope to create more amazing content on this blog. Writing is amazing. I travelled to Madrid, Granada, Santander and Somo. I discovered Somo which is a beautiful surfing village in the north of Spain. In 2019 I really want to go to a surf camp again . I didn’t go surfing for more than two years. I miss it so much. It’s also so good for my mental health. The sea is my home and cleans my soul. The beach is my favourite place on this earth. I can’t wait to travel to more amazing places and meet more amazing people.
Somo, Santander (September 2018)
Granada, Andalucia (July 2018)
La Rábita, Mediterranean Sea, Granada (July 2018)

Maybe for some of you this year was a hard year. Maybe some of you have lost someone close to you. Maybe you just didn’t felt okay and were struggling. I’m here for you. It’s okay to grief. It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to feel sad. Feelings change and emotions change but it all takes time. Try to not be hard on yourself next year. Remember, I’ll will always be there for you I hope you will invest in self love and self care this new year because that’s the most important thing that matters. I also encourage you all to surround yourself with people who love you and who bring you only good vibes because you deserve that .
I celebrated my New Year’s Eve in Valladolid, in Spain. I decided to not go out with my friends. I also didn’t go out last year. I used to party every year but I don’t feel in the mood anymore. I have to do what feels good to me. I went to the hairdressers in the afternoon to cut the dead ends, my bangs and they made curls in my hair. I love to look good for myself. I dressed up at home and did my make up. My mother and I went to the house of the mother of the wife of my brother. We celebrated all together New Year’s Eve: Rafael, my mother, Véronica, Véronica’s mother and her brother. We enjoyed eating delicious Spanish food.
We ate cheese, jamon serrano, chorizo, bread and chicken. I didn’t eat the fish because I don’t like fish so much haha At 12 o’clock we watched the television and ate the 12 grapes. We also had champagne . It’s a tradition in Spain to eat the 12 grapes. They say it brings luck. We watched television where we were hearing beautiful music and we played Spanish card games. I really loved it so much. I love playing games with my family. At 3.30 am my mother and I went home and we stayed in watching some television. We went to bed at 6 am pretty late but doesn’t matter because it’s a special night. I’m glad I didn’t go out because as soon as we were home I got my period haha. On New Year’s Day we just stayed in and chilled. I saw the movie Grease. I just love that movie & the music so much I also saw the movie Paper Towns which I love so much from John Green. I already saw this movie with my best friend one day and loved it.
